Good fish and chips. Friendly service. Great lunch. Only issue is the waiting to get in. I guess thats the tradeoff when you serve a good product.

I love this spot! They have excellent food, they have a rich menu, The cook in that restaurant is a real pro, I love a lot tasting all their dishes. The food is always fresh, the service towards the clients is very good too. I often eat in this place and I not even once was unsatisfied. I highly recommend it.

Food was delicious, portions were generous, service was amazing. We went there for my mother-in-laws birthday and out of 8 adults, everybody loved their food.

The food is still as good as it was many years ago. The fish and chips is so good. They used to have the best lemon pie there is but today it was the worst I ever had in my life. But everything else was perfectYou have to wait outside in line to get, but we were elucky and didnt wait at all. So people be ready if its a hot day!The staff was really polite and the service was really quick. They respect the covid measure with lot of space between table, plexi glass in between and clean the table between each customers.I was really impress by how well they are doing giving the circonstances.

Dont let the long waiting line fool you; there are ...problems. But first, the good. The food is yummy fattening food, and it can be served with alcohol.Now the bad. The long waiting line. The lack of parking due to the long waiting line caused by a very specific demographic. The fact that youre just another customer among many others is the underlying problem. I blame it on that fact that the waitress gave us the least popular desert instead of the one wed asked to-go for because she knew we would not find out about it until we got home. I mean... the employees have punch cards ffs. The restaurant is so cheap that they recycle crackers that they give with soups, snatching them from under your nose in the hopes that you would not say anything, otherwise youre the one who would look cheap.Look, the price for the food is acceptable, Nothing generous. But the service is factory-gloomy, and like seagulls flocking to a McDonalds, so are the boomers with deep pockets with this restaurant.I do not recommend.

This place has realllyy good fish and chips. The batter doesnt fall off and its not as greasy for a deep fried fish. The sides are great, alot of choices from rice and potatoes to mixed veggies and salads. The desserts are all home made ranging from Chomeur Pudding to Lemon Mirange pie. They also have different options for proteins chicken, shrimp, and beef. Overall good selection, great service and Im always bringing home leftovers because the plate size 👍

Generous portions. Well made meals. But they had run out of my favourite dessert, tarte au citron, when I went for my birthday dinner!

We were a party of 4, this was the first time at this restaurant we had heard about it and how good it was ! We were not disappointed it was excellent. Depending what time you arrive you can expect a bit of a waiting time, who cares we’re not eating at MacDonald’s, this to me is a good sign when the place is full this usually means the quality of the food is great. We ordered the pea soup and crème of asperagus which was very tasty, fresh and hearty, then came the fish and chips, WOW, fresh fish with the right amount of batter fried just perfectly along with the French fries and / or mashed potatoes, cole slaw tartar sauce and lemon, the complete package came together, everyone enjoyed there meal along with 2 bottles of wine which by the way is sold at a very reasonable price of SAQ + ( Kim Crawford at $26.95 & Ruffino Pinot Grigio at 23,95) Do the math, reasonably priced. Then comes the dessert, I was impressed with the list of desserts on the menu, i can’t remember them all and was told by the waiter everything was home madeWe had the last 2 lemon meringue pie which was 4-5 inches thick which was fantastic + a fresh cup of coffee completed ourMeal. The service was excellent, the establishment is very clean and orderly everything in there place, very simple decor with a cosy atmosphere. One thing for sure I will be going back to try more of there fish plates, what I observed being served to the other clients was very appealing to look at from a distance. Definitely I will post again next we go. ENJOY.

The real benchmark by which all fish and chips are rated. The only gripe I have is that it is haddock, not cod, which is used. Not cheap by any means, but the portions are adequate. Service has always been irreproachable. Beware though, place is VERY busy and you can expect more than a half hour wait time before being seated during peak periods.

Had the fish n chips the fish was fresh but the chips were ordinary...what completely turned me off was the fact there was a lovely bunch of older women behind us clearly from out of town who could not speak a word of French and the waitress did not make any attempt to accommodate them...like seriously it does not take much to say foods in english...I seriously hope they tipped that waitress accordingly...really put a damper on my meal...

Very nice place for fish and chip. We ordered the table dhote of 1 fish and it was enough to get me full. For the price you have a soup, main dish, coffee and dessert. (about 24$ tip included per person).And for the waiting line, the host said it was 20 minutes and they respect it (about 25 minutes soso,). She had even come outside to get us when it was our turn.Recommanded !!!

Fish and Chips. This is the place to have it. When I come here, I always order the fish and chips. Just one filet because its enough for one person. Trust me. Unless of course youre really hungry and can put it away like its nobodys business, then by all means get two filets.

\\hello every one me have being a ustumer of the Chalutier since the beginning as am in a wheelchair they adapted the place since then the food and the portion are great and the services and prices there is no other in Montreal or Laval to match the quality and prices.

Fish was excellent however fries were so soggy that we thought they were put in water. Since water was also in the bottom of our plate

Mmmm... Fish N Chips! I had an itch for it and Le Chalutier provided relief!The establishment is deceivingly huge and can sit well over 150 patrons in several diving areas found within. The resto is well kept, clean with comfortable seating. I did note that the majority of the patrons are 60+ and it was 70% full during lunch.... on a Thursday! Take that for what its worth.I went with their table dhote which consisted of a soup of the day, 1 fish filet, a side-order of my choice and some coleslaw. A filtered coffee and choice of dessert rounded out the dining experience.For $17 I got to enjoy :- Broccoli cream soup : Very good but desperately needed salt though. I guess thats normal as the typical patron here doesnt want too much salt in their food. Not the best broccoli cream of soup Ive had but a solid start!- Fish filet : First of all, this single filet was HUGE! Could have easily been 2 or 3 pieces. The tartar sauce was perfect. Came here for my fish and it was delivered. So yummy!- Greek Potatoes : I opted for the Greek potatoes (there were 5+ options) and sprinkled some lemon on it and it was sublime. Is this a Greek resto? Because these potatoes were out of this world good!- Coleslaw : I really like coleslaw and they delivered. Good not great though.- Filtered coffee and pudding chomeur : All desserts are prepared in-house (Awesome!) and the selection available number close to 10. I opted for the pudding chomeur and it was good however I felt it was a tad small and I would have preferred if it was heated with perhaps the option to upgrade it a la mode for some hot and cold action in my mouth.All in all, the table dhote was good and well worth another re-visit in a few weeks time.The service was quick and I felt they understood that patrons did come here for lunch and to wrap it up within an hour of our visit. They dont rush you but they definitely can accommodate. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient.I definitely recommend Le Chalutier and hope future visits will bump this 4 star review to a 5.
