Founded in 1983, ICIMOD is a regional intergovernmental learning and knowledge sharing centre located in the valley. The whole purpose of the centre is to enable sustainable and resilient mountain development for improved and equitable livelihoods through knowledge and regional cooperation.

ICIMOD is a regional research institute for climate change in Hindu Kush Himalaya region. With the MODIS Satellite ground station, they collect satellite imagery on daily basis. The researchers are well qualified and use advance tenchnology of GIS and Remote Sensing in the research. I am glad to attend the trainings they conducted.
