Readings is one of my favorite bookshops in Lahore, and I make it a point to shop there every time I visit. They always have such a wide variety - from trash novels to rare finds like Making Lahore Modern: Constructing and Imagining a Colonial City. I experience a sense of discovery here.

Readings sells great amounts of books. But in my experience, I was heart broken when I couldnt find any specific book that I wanted to indulge with. Hardcore readers like me are prone to seek for amazing books deep and specific in the ocean of information, just to get something only he/she would appreciate. I dont want to seem too critical at this specific point because they clearly told me that those books were sold and should be in stock soon. But if too much time passes by between these books, then it can be a problem. Quantity isnt everything. It is as much important as the quality of books.The space itself didnt exactly served the sense of reading place one comes to expect from libraries. Sure it was organised and clean and had good smell and all that but the space was compact and there were no sign of seats (to me at least) which made it even pointless, to be honest, as the library didnt encouraged customers to read books but rather just buy books. Im not sure which term should be applied to readings, book store or library.The lighting was quite horrible as well, something you would sort of expect from Stephen King novels! LED lights pouring white rays that reflect sense of dread, confinement or locked space made unease chills easy to spread. Yellow or Orange lights are much more sophisticated for this matter, as they resemble sun rays, making us feel energetic and happy.But in the end I would recommend you to check it out yourself and see how your opinions differ from others (or from mine in this context).

The best book shop in Gulbarg area of Lahore

After Urdu Bazar, this is the best place for buying books, no lie!Please their customer service is amazing!

The country we’re living in, unfortunately loosing the magic of reading. Now people start walking away from the incredible habit of reading,and buying books.That’s a core reason, why it’s so hard to find good places for the books to purchase and look after.This place, readings count in one of few great things Lahore has now a days.They’ve great variety of genres, with thousand of titles and the best thing about the store is... easy to access website and on demand book process.There’s dozens of titles, which I get through this store, through on demand policy, and they provide it perfectly.My most favorite and amazing place to visit even on daily basis, or far to go then weekend.But the addition which enhance the worth of the place is, private tea-coffee shop inside the store.What’s good then, enjoying the favorite coffee while reading book? Perfect.A small problem: the staff sometimes act like they’re doing Ahsan (favor) on guiding the customers, the attitude sometimes slips otherwise best place.

I always find such great books here, the prices are so reasonable compared to normal selling prices. If you go to the front they can search up a book to see if they have it, so helpful! Love this place!

Wide variety of kids books and others as well. That makes it an amazing place to choose the books then sit and read there before buying it.Books prices have increased over the years with other prices in the market so thats one point which hurt the hardest when we cant afford some excellent books lying around there for kids.

Good ambience but staff is.. i wouldnt say uncooperative but still not helping... like they need some trainjng on dealing customers... i bought a book and the cashier just handed over the book and then bag like customer can put the book in that bag himself... no offense but it felt awkward... like... what???

Good range and compelling titles. However the place lacks subject-specific books, so dont bother going for those. Good novel collection and classic titles, if your in the mood to surprise yourself with a new read, definitely check them out. Also, prices are something you should be aware of, its not a very economical place so expect to pay top-bucks for mediocre products and a smiling staff so you dont feel too bad about it.

Many researchers, teachers and students come to this place. Readings sells official cover books with good page prints. Prices are usually high for students like me but what else can you do. Here, you can sit and read and have coffee to lighten your mood as well.

The collection of books was good they placed the boards of 50% off but when we purchased they sold us at full price and price was so high ,much expensive shop not affordable for students

This place is legit! They have all types of hooks here and there is such a cozy environment, the staff is very sweet and they have every book you name! I visit them every month and I always get a book from here. Highly recommended to all novel readers!

It was good but if you are looking for manga or comic books then its not the place to go and the books are a bit expensive there as compared to other retailers. Id suggest if you want dirt cheap books and of all varieties then visit Anarkali bazar , near Pakistan tea house . There is always awesome stalls there on weekends and you could buy them as cheap as you want and the best part you could BARGAIN.

Its the best book store in Lahore. They have every book you need. Always have the latest books but it is a bit congested. I think they are opening another store as well somewhere in Lahore. Hopefully its a bit spacious. Overall its a good store and you can order online as well all over Pakistan.

It has quite a large variety of books in Lahore from local to international. It gets a bit crowded since the place is small for the amount of books they have. Nice quite place where you can pick up or read books.

Good spot for English Books..Urdu Counter Is Way Too Limited.

Being the only bookshop of its scale in town there isnt much to compare it with. They often have a sale running on used books while new titles are displayed on the glass windows and standees. I cannot mostly find the books that I am after but the place offers a niche for the book lovers. Nicely lit and air-conditioned, there is a coffee shop there as well which gives this place an air of a library. Quite confusing but thats what it is.

A safe haven for book lovers. All books are categorized into shelves so it is very easy to browse books via their genre. They can request shipment for the books you want to order as well. Small floor coushions and chairs are also places for those who want to check out the books peacefully. Generally very quiet and peaceful environment.

Been a CUSTOMER here for a long LONG time.. readings is the BESTIESTEST Bookstore Ive ever visited in my life.. nice and comfy place where READING books is allowed (without buying them) for as long as you want... theres even a COFFEE SHOP attached to the store.. all books are sold in REASONABLE PRICES compared to all other bookstores in pakistan... ONLY DOWNER is the fact that READINGS doesnt restock TITLES efficientlyand many books can only be availed after a special request...

Always great to go to Readings. There roaring books rack (my usual first stop inside the shop) always has enough luring titles that after selecting some from this rack, some odd part of your mind gets ticjled enough that you do end up trying to look for something more specific.

Well! Book store with sitting place to read. Very non traditional building. All kinds of books are available. Computer search facility renders it easier to get the books of your choice. Another branch has been opened in DHA, Lahore too.

Everything is good. They didnt had the book which I needed. Considering the only good place to get books they should have one. Furthermore, please note that the online reading store (website) and offline store are both different ones. Means if a book is showing in stock online then youd have to take it from online its not necessarily available at the offline store and vice versa.

Thats the only book store in Pakistan, where you can get almost complete works of great Urdu short story writer Asad Mohammad Khan. Of course, this shop also offers most of the latest works by contemporary fiction and non-fiction writers from China to Peru. ❤

He promptly took the order. On my request he sent me the picture of the book by whatsapp along with the order number. I received the book in less than 48 hours by Leopards, paying cash on delivery.
