The museum is built in the shape of a semi-circle, with the entrance on one end and exit on the other. There are five different halls with various exhibits, along with a Heroes Gallery, a gift shop, and an amphitheater. The museum is organized to highlight some of the most important moments and people in Pakistan’s history. The first hall included exhibits about The Lahore Resolution, Gandhi-Jinnah Talks, The 3rd June Plan and the Indian Independence Act of 1947, along with an overarching timeline of Pakistan. The second hall was dedicated to how Pakistan came into being with the following exhibits: Journey to Pakistan and 1947 Fasadaat. Hall three was divided into categories, which included the Wagah Station, Refugees, The Government of Pakistan, The Citizens of Pakistan and the Armed Forces. Hall four showcased Popular Culture, and acted as a link to present-day Pakistan, while hall five included Sports, Quwwat-e-Pakistan and Young Historians. This influx of information could naturally be overwhelming for a first time visitor, but to my delight, there were well informed guides in each hall to guide the visitors through the exhibits.

Good place for the Children visit here. But there is no Historical things here. Only small amount of information written on the walls and also videos content. There are LEDs and LCDs with Headphones 🎧 and you can watch the videos you can find this type of information from the books of 8th or 9th graders better than visit. I am sharing with you some pictures that I captured.Regards

The National History Museum is the newest and most technologically advanced addition in the list of museums in Lahore. It is also the very first digital museum in Pakistan that offers an immersive experience to visitors with the help of cutting-edge technologies.

One the most educating experiences in Lahore. You learn so much about your history in this place. It is like a time travel back to the pre-partition era and then subsequent history of Pakistan. Citizens Archive Project (CAP) collects memoirs of ordinary citizens from that era and this gives a unique perspective on history.Museum also holds art classes and story telling sessions for kids which is an amazing effort.

One of the best museums Ive ever visited that too in Pakistan, Lahore. Very well maintained and the quality inside the museum is magnificent. The VR train is breathtaking showing you history of Pakistan and India in a 4D view and the photos with Jinnah is also something to look forward to. I really loved the atmosphere and vibe it had, They have really paid attention to detail. For the quality of the museum and the atmosphere I really think they charge very less for something this great. A MUST VISIT

An excellent addition to the archives of Pakistan and wonderful contribution by the Govt. Of Punjab and Citizen Archives of Pakistan. This museum is so beautiful crafted with fusion of technology and design language that one doesnt feel bored. Historic events are exhibited in beautifully crafted timelines that one thoroughly enjoys. Display of moments of partition with narratives recorded from generation of partition and use of hologram and virtual reality makes the experience heart touching. Its maintenance will be most critical and collective responsibility of all of us. Please visit, once it officially opens up for public and treat every thing like a master piece of your own drawing room.

Brilliantly done! Loads of information through interactive displays and visuals. Amazing VR simulation about the migration of 1947 and superb idea of stepping into the past where anyone can get clicked with Quaid and his companions. Just a suggestion. They should keep few clothes as well for pictures, as todays costumes do not match the old ones. Like a coat, a dupatta, sherwani. Otherwise its an amazing experience and in the end a lovely story telling session with an art activity was a cherry on top. Souvenir shop is great as well. Staff was polite and friendly. We had an amazing time with kids.

Its a nice place to visit and you can enjoy the voice of history by using hanging headphones in the museum. They categorized tickets in 3 ways,1. Rs. 50 includes just visiting and listen audio and video clips, you can make photos of yourself with all historical areas defined but you are not allowed to take photo of only areas, you should be there in the photo ;)2. Rs. 100 extra should be pay for making photo with historical group members that includes you in black n white mode. (optional)3. Rs. 200 extra should be pay for watching VR videos sitting in the train single box placed in the museum. (optional)There are screens displayed with having movie clips of 1960s and much more to explore here.

+ve: Has good exhibits with enough old pictures and sufficiently detailed timeline to capture significant, varied moments of Pakistans history. Well maintained and new museum. Several guides are there. The ticket is quite affordable at PKR 50 per adult. Solid edutainment value for kids. -ve: Urdu translation needs to be available for *all* oral histories. Selection of individuals for the oral histories suggests a certain elitist slant which is not entirely surprising for those familiar with CAP.

This place describes our complete historical image as a nation while covering different aspects like independence, culture, music and some other important things. Its a must visit for people living in Lahore and for others too.***Things to keep in mind while coming here: 1.) Come early if its weekend because the entrance is very crowded 2.) One of the most interesting and engaging implementations of a national history project. Not propaganda but historical accounts from ordinary people together with historical artifacts well presented and explained.Personally, it pulls at the heartstrings because I can feel the struggle and sacrifice that all involved made to create the concept of Pakistan and then try and build it.Unfortunately, I feel the vision of a safe place for all based on freedom of expression, hard work and welfare for all has still a way to go.However, the exhibits, for example, firsthand audio and video accounts, a VR experience of the journey to Pakistan on partition plus songs and models have the ability to engage young people to continue progress.I would recommend all ages, gender and religions to visit with an open mind and heart. You will not regret it.Made me feel proud to be a British Muslim of Pakistani origin.
