Love to be back again. As there are not many places in Kuching where we can wind down, this is one of my favourites. This time round my family comes during weekdays, feel like heaven because the beach is quite empty and extremely clean. Wonderful to be able to chill and forget about the pandemic terrors. Great opportunity to reflect and reconnect with the great nature God gifted. We will spend 2nites here. Walking on the sandy beach and jog up the hill are our must have activities, besides the young people love swimming in the pool. Restaurants nearby are also great, seafood especially. Good time to appreciate each others companionship!

Nice and cozy resort but a bit outdated on its maintenance. Room services also a bit slow during my stay in the weekend due to high no. of occupants (thats the excuse given by staff)

This place is beautiful as it is. But the management way too strict. Management last time more much better. They relate sop & kkm way too much. Not much activities with family can be done here & extra person charge become more expensive. Gonna be my last time here.

Room was excellent.. counter service need to learn more about hospitality.. food at cafe satang was fine but still can improve just that i am not satisfied with staff in charge of check in to the cafe. She seems to blame us when saying that one of my family already in the cafe, although we just walk in which means someone has entered the cafe using our room number.

This review is specially for the floor manager and his team managing the crowd during breakfast. Got to see the man in action. Did not get his name, but in the busy time he kept cool and was always smiling when greeting the guest. His team is also well trained. Love the hospitality. Turn around time while waiting to be seated did not feel long as I got to see passionate people at work. Keep up the good work! Overall experience is great!

Quite an old building for the hilltop rooms. They do not have wifi and mobile. No hot water. Not enough lights in the room. No wall socket to charge phones.The room was spacious with big balcony.

Old but clean and spacey. A bit quiet during this pandemic during weekdays but still fully booked during weekends. Food can still be improved but loved the ice coffee. Not to forget the friendly staff.

We went there on 4/2/2021, only few local, as Kuching under lockdown until 14/2. But were disappointed also as the Internet is not on. Called the reception but only works a little while. No hot shower, so very cold taking bath as was raining all day long! Though over all the resort is beautiful, the facilities are not functioning. We hope next trip its functioning well!

The room Kinda so-so based on the pricey rate. Probably school holiday. The beach is nice though.. cafe menu is lacking variety and pricey too. Not worth eating dinner or lunch. Bfast is okay.Hilltop room need to wait for shuttle to pick up and drop every time you want to go down. Sadly can’t use the shuttle using wet clothes. That’s a bummer. Maybe management should put a plastic covers in their seats to accommodate wet and dry guests. The room down near the beach is better although hilltop have a nice view. Conveniency of movement is a down side.Receptionist said hilltop rooms is better but for me that’s a lie. Rooms near beach have face towel but hilltop doesn’t have. And the water kind of murky when bath tub being filled up. The beach highlights the trip here. The resort should improve their room cleanliness and maintenance of the property. Rates are steep compared to what we are getting in return.

Damai Beach Resort has come out a weekly(every Saturday) barbecue bonfire dinner buffet. The food was good. Great scenery, soothing and relaxing dinner while enjoying the cool breeze. Some activities as well after dinner. Had a great time 🥳

Service is great but the place is a bit run down. Breakfast is good.

Nice for a weekend getaway and enjoy the beach. The beddings & pillows are new and superb. Need to have maintenace on the doorlock for chalet 317. To upgrade the bathrooms.Plan to have repeat visits

Air conditioner keep splashing water , no shampoo in toilet, no hot water for shower , bed bug cause us cannot sleep at night.Paid rm680 for 2 nights, but required us to Complaint number of times to fulfill our basic requirements... Fainted!The good thing is strategic location (near to beach and Sarawak culture village). Hope they can make some improvement to attrack more visitors 😕

We booked 4 chalet rooms and an executive suite. We were very happy with the rooms cleanliness and overall maintenance.Two areas which I feel need improvement are:a) Since the executive suite can accommodate 4 people, they should provide 4 towels. Instead, they provided only 2 and when we asked for two more, they wanted to charge extra for it.2) The guests had to adhere to covid-19 SOPs which is good. However, during breakfast, some of the staff serving the guests were not wearing masks or wore them under their chins. The SOPs should apply to all and most especially, the resort staff. I hope they will be more strict with the SOPs.

Too strict and not much activity you can do. Prefered the old damai management. Cannot bring outside food anymore and outside drink. My last one going to damai, not recommend anymore. Please the new management be more like the old one.

The room quite spacious even though a little bit old, need more TV channel and need more speedy internet network and the staffs are friendly.

The great place I always gone there once a year! I like the great things about this place is I like the bathroom,the beach,the meals,the service,television program on the room and the swimming pool I always like to go.

Beautiful place, sadly everything looks rundown. Hopefully things change for the better. Breakfast options could be so much better considering the price. But staff are very accomodating.

If u need a fast weekend gateway to the beach, this is the place especially if your living around kuching.

I would like to suggest that the resort offer access to its beach, rate is per hour/half day maybe with or without beach umbrella etc...and with/without bbq facility...all of this without having to rent a chalet/room at the resort..anyway still had a good time there.

The hotel management is quite strict but overall its okay. The room is big and spacious. It is very comfortable.

Love it. The resort is so near to the famous beach— Damai beach, hence its name. An interesting location for family time. The food buffet is delicious. Easy access to the 7-Eleven and few other shops next to it. Cultural Village isn’t that far from this resort as well. Definitely worth it.

Very nice place to spent ur holiday with family and loved one. Especially if u love water activity. But i gave 4 star bcos the location is a bit secluded, food for lunch and dinner is not that great. Overall still ok la..

Room was not cleaned properly, floor was dusty and sandy. Flooring needs to be repaired. Feels unsafe while walking inside chalet as if the floor could burst.

Dying resort badly in need of a revamp and current situation with Covid 19 is not helping with guests

Damai beach resort is good place for tourists. But for a local like me . I kinda prefer places more far from the city like lundu or sematan. overall damai is a great place for tourists but if you wanna really feel loke a local you should go to sematan

A very good place to relax at the beach. The staff is very helpful and polite. The offered food is good. Close to the hotel is a food market if you like to get some different food. There are two pool areas, restaurants, a bar and a small convenience store inside the area.

Beautiful beach scenery, a good place to relax. Staffs are friendly and attentive. However, it is a long-time resort, rooms and facilities are quite old. Maintenance is seriously needed. Housekeeping can also be improved, floor is pretty sandy.

Its a home away from home. Loving every minute of the days being there. The food, the room, the resort overall are fantastic! And definitely the staff are all awesome! Great work! Maintain it always at heart! 🙌

Nice and quite place. You get the beach and its beautiful scenery. Buy a lot of snack for you to munch at night. Some room located far from the convenient store.Some room especially the hillview is a bit old looking. Maybe need some revamp.Room is very spacious on that area.

Nice beach, nice view and nice environment! Nice place to hang out with friends!Okay lets talk about the hotel room. We stay in room 704 for one night, the room is extremely dirty! the bed feel like never cleaned for decade! The wooden floor feel like will crush anytime. The room is not noiseproof at all! Can very clearly hear what happend at the next room. The corridor feel like haunted! And no security there at all!

Spacious rooms. Foods are superb. We had Nasi Goreng Damai, Mushroom soup and french fries for dinner. Thank you Chef Hazli Chef Rohiza & Chef Azian!

Very good place for family and friends stay. The accommodation is good and staff are always willing to help. Theres a shuttle service that brings you from the pool and room to the lobby as well. Make sure you come with mosquito repellents / sunblocks if youre planning to go on the beach to avoid sunburns and sandflies.

A nice resort in Santubong, very close to mount Santubong. The scenery is amazing. The beach is beautiful. Need a renovation for the rooms. The food at restaurant is good taste. Nice place to spend weekends..

Checked in from 9 to 11 January 2020 for official duty at hilltop block 15 double Queen bedroom. The place is an old resort aged more than 30 years by judging at fittings and furnitures. Even though old facilities but cleanliness and services still consider good.The surrounding and beach is nice. Served good food.But the aircond is totally not functioning. Luckily the weather that few days is raining season.Water heater is hot but wont last long. So you better to have quick shower and no bath shower due to limited hot water.

Good place to unwind... especially during weekdays when you basically get the place to yourself. Avoid holidays though if youre looking for a quiet getaway...

Very plush entrance, substandard room. This is an enormous hotel complex and there clearly are very nice rooms but ours was not one of them. Described as a Superior Pool-side Room we arrived to find only one double bed for three adults and poorly repaired wallpaper which had peeled due to what looked like mould. I guess it was superior because its size rather than quality. Also the TV did not work apart from 4 channels with a fuzzy analogue picture reminiscent of the days when you had to move the set top aerial around to find a signal.A child sized camp bed was put in the room with a very lumpy mattress and no padding between the springs and sheet. When I complained I was told no other rooms were available but Housekeeping would replace the bed. This did not happen and we spent the first night three of us in the one king-sized double bed.In the morning our travel agent took up the issue with the management and a better mattress was put in the camp bed.The food choice in the restaurant is good, but dishes come out at different times so my daughter had finished her meal before ours appeared. The staff are very smiley, helpful and keen to do their best.The pool water had a green tinge and leaves floating in it, although it is cleaned at 4am. The steps into the deep end were in pieces. The beach is sandy and rather artificial looking. It is clean.Reception staff are helpful as were the room servicing staff, although I had to point out twice that there were three adults in the room and two sachets of tea and creamer were insufficient for us all to have a drink.There were two large balls of hair in the corridor which the cleaner was happy to take away when I picked it up for her.

Nice location, spacious room. Could have been better if the rooms are better maintained. The old mattress needs to go and the room electrical socket points are worn and faulty.

Be very careful with your belongings at this resort. I kept my wifes beach dress on a beach bench while we went for a quick swim. Just 15 minutes later, the dress is gone! We only saw a few people walking around, and being a beach resort you would think the security would be somewhat good. Complained to the management and all they could do is apologize, and handed a piece of paper to leave a review. Really bad security and service for guest.

I like it. Love the nice view from the chalet/ hotel. I am rating this 5 stars! I love it, even my brothers love it. I love to swim there too. Keep up a good work!

Nice and clean beach but doesnt have much eateries and the attractions are scattered and divided. So you have to come from different entrance to enjoy other parts of the beach. Overall it nice place to play on the beach with the rolling waves

Nice place to be for a short break to unwind. Its a popular retreat among locals during short holidays and to have a dip in the water to cool down. There are handful of seafood restaurants within a short drive away. The view from the hilltop is spectacular.

Have not live up to its 90s glorious days as the place now have no music pub, swimming pool does not have a dress code as many hotel guests wear their own clothes inside the pools, beach activities is no longer available with equipments for rent, no more live band as the Fun Pub is closed for almost 20 years. It is a sad place to hang out nowadays.

Damai has excellent staff and pools. Unfortunately the accommodation has seen better days and needs maintenance. Our 1st chalet room had a broken shower and only twin beds, not queen beds as the booking stated. Management was very kind and gave us an upgrade but unfortunately this room on the hill had plumbing issues as well. The restaurant has excellent shakes, friendly staff and okay food. We enjoyed the food(and price) much better at the food court next door. Unfortunately they also let guests bring huge speakers and blast very loud music disturbing the peace at the pool. Thankfully theres 2 pools.5 stars for staff4 stars for pools and beach2 stars for room quality

Still a good place to go, if you want the beach in Kuching. Food was good and service was great. However, I did notice the variety for the buffet breakfast had reduce. The pool bar will service hot drinks ( hot drinks are from the cafeteria and not from the pool bar) but depending on the waiter. Some waiters will assist some will just say no hot drinks here..😂😂😂

My kids love to come here. They enjoy the beach and swimming pools. Improvements are seen and hope the management will keep up the good effort.

Kids enjoyed the facilities - has 2 pools by the beach & at the hilltop, good food at the restaurant & clean. Breakfast is ok, more traditional or local food is better. Need to go early or q in a long row. The rooms facilities bit running down

Very good hotel on the Kuching peninsula. Perfect for nature lovers who prefer to flee cities.Gorgeous view of the rooms located on the hillside. 24-hour shuttle service from the restaurant to the rooms. The pool at the top of the hotel is beautiful and practically unoccupied.Breakfast are included for all customers .Prices are more than reasonable !At the staff level, they will do everything to answer your questions and your needs !A place that I highly recommend !!! ;)

Had a short overnight retreat from town in this resort, price room is very reasonable. Booked a double queen room located at the hilltop, the view is breathtaking. The hilltop pool is recently cleaned and view is as good as an infinity pool. Breakfast for 2 is inclusive in the room rate and Ive added on for 3 and cost Rm33 per person, its totally worth as food served is fresh, premium and delicious. Will definitely come back again.

Beautiful and clean beach. The management building is superb, very clean, well lighted and beautifully decorated. Friendly and efficient receptionists. Food is great. However, the chalets need some maintaince and there is much room for improvement as far as house keeping is concerned. The chalet I stayed in was a little sandy, the rail was not stable , green moss grow on the ladder and some planks need urgent replacement .The pools near the beach are rather small . Very crowded the time of my visit. Limited parking space.The Hill Top on the other hand is awesome. The view from up there is amazing and the swimming pool is bigger and beautiful and well maintained but the toilets and changing rooms cleanliness should be improved. I also noticed there were many ants crawling about at the swimming pool platform and nesting at one of the pole.Overall, I enjoyed my visit there.

Watchout for the pricing. Weekend is pack with events. The beach are clean. Entrance at the main gate is strict, due to covid.

Room is good, facility is good, staff friendliness is good but they overlooked my booking and when communicating (house keeping service), the management are like calculative eventhough we already properly help dispose 99% of our rubbish outside the room when checking out. I have been to so many cheaper hotels and other hotel staff are obviously a lot more helpful. Expected better foods in breakfast buffet since the room rate is not cheap.

Just checked in here today (Superior Poolside Room) at Ground Floor as i am with baby and elderly people. It has nice beach and swimming pool view and easy access to the area and cafe too. I dont mind listen to children playing at pool but the hotel play raya song so loud and its hard for us to rest after long drive. Could you turn the volume down please?To add more, we can listen ppl shouting outside the room at the corridor and the next room (or upper my room) keep arranging furniture, bed or something non stop starting at 8pm. Where can i make a complain? Its really hard to rest as my baby cant sleep. Should I change room? I am gonna stay here till this Saturday. I am not expecting quiet area but just being considerate will be appreciated as i just wanna have rest and enjoy my holiday here with family. Thanks.

Since there are not many Beach open to public near Kuching, this place is usually fully booked during the weekends, school holidays and public holidays. But the place is beautiful and there are a few facilities that could be used by the guests. Just a reminder, if you want to swim laps, please do so early as the pool is crowded after breakfast.
