In this covid season the business in here is very dull as other places. The cashier is very much convenient and helping. The food items are above average. With my family & sometimes with my friend I go there and take food before March 2020. The seen that makes the food like Dosas is very interesting to us. And they are very friendly and helpful to us. I think, *That is the secret of the business*

There used to be a time, when this was a good restaurant,my friends form other parts of kerala used to regularly visit dakshin without a fail for breakfast, when they came to CalicutSince a year or so, the quality of food is pathetic, just water filled chutney and sambar

Had bought onam sadhya for 5 people. really the worst service i had ever experienced. People were waiting for 2 hours to receive their order. After returning home, the quantity of food per sadhya is very less and the cost for each sadhya was 275 rs. Never buy from here. Really bad inexperienced service and management.

Very nice food. Parking is a head ache. Habe parking only for 3..4 cars which is already will be full on weekends. Ac restaurant upstairs is neat and clean. No elevator or wheelchair friendly stairs or parking. Bills are reasonable.

In my opinion if any vegetarian person visit to calicut. This is the best place to have meal here. They provide excellent food in very reasonable rates. One can have full meal near around 150 rupees.

Earlier this hotel was one among the best in Calicut city. Now it turned to be very bad in service. We can find the poor service once we go after 9:15 pm. We were asked to go upstairs in the ac floor as there was no place in downstair. We waited for more than 20 minutes. No more was there to clean the tables and take orders. The ones who were there was too poor in service. When I asked them the reason they told the restaurant will get closed by 9:30. Then they should have informed earlier. No need of directing us upstairs and making us wait

Location and accessibility is convenient. Food is above averageCleanliness is above average.Only drawback is the self service system. You have to getup and pay for your running order mid meal.

Wide range of experiment on traditionally served dosas, they part Italian and northern spice mix and additives which makes each flavours unique and exotic.should try for atleast once in a lifetime. They got good enough seating for over 40 person at a time in ground level alone. They got space for 3/4 cars upfront an dfor two wheelers on the side. Their work is professional and they have been serving Calicut for over decades. Dosa lovers certainly try this one.

If you are on the go or looking for a quick vegetarian bite, choose the self service area in the ground floor. But dont you dare opt for their a la carte non A/C and A/C section. Food service cannot stoop lower than this. If youve been attended to within the first 20 minutes or so, you belong to the very luck group of humans. The dining area is so dark and poorly lit, that you cant even figure out whats in your plate.

One of the best veg restaurants in calicut. Service is quick. Clean also. Self service available. AC indining also. Serve a variety of dishes. In fact the diversity of menu is one advantage over its close (next door) rival Ruchi bhavan; though whos dosa is better is subject to ones palate

Popular veg restaurant opposite KSRTC Kozhikode. Ordinary veg meals and Special veg meals are available at lunch time. At ground floor there is a self service section and at first floor they provide service. Food items are above average taste and price is little bit high for me.

I have a very pathetic experience with Dakshin The Veg Calicut.. meals are too low in quality. No words to desscribe, half boiled rice.. no taste for all cousines. When we ask about why this..? whole the staff stare at people as they are also helpless... if any other options for veg food at calicut, never stp in to Dakshin the veg...

Standard pure vegetarian restaurant with north and south indian dishes. One of the old and reputed veg restaurants in Calicut. Its prepaid system here and You have to take token from counter and food ll be served on the table.Average neatness. But well trained staffs. It has very few car parking space but located on the main street of Calicut city just opposite to KSRTC bus terminal.

It maybe only vegetarian, but the food is very good. Theres self service and ordinary service available. Theres also a cool drinks section in the restaurant. You can see your food being prepared here and thats something I like. Its fun to watch.

This hotel was famous years before. The men at the billing counter(dont know whether ther r owners or not,) are so rude, that if you dont have change they will ask you to get the change.Once they refused to give me a bill because I was not having the change. And the manner in which they speak, you will feel like not going to there anymore time. Ruchi Bhavan is situated next to this hotel, the only problem is used to climb the stairs. A good ambience a well behaved cashier and moreover all the staff are really smiling and worthy Ruchi Bhavan.Food is average in Dakshin. For pure vegetarians there is no option in front KSRTC bus stand other than the Dakshin. The legacyis living but will not last. This is not only my experience. The persons in cash counter things that he doing a free service. Never ever I will go to this restaurant

The restaurant is situated opposite Kozhikode KSRTC Bus stand, on Mavoor Road. They have a self service restaurant in the ground floor and A la Carte in the first floor. Food quality is excellent and pricing is quite reasonable. First floor has a/c and non a/c sections. The only minus point is lack of parking space. Only four cars can be parked in front of the restaurant, though a number of two wheelers can be parked.

For three sada dosa they charged 58 rs. Too much pricing for a local hotel. Please dont go there. It is better to go to KSRTC wash room than theirs. Pathetic

Best Masala Dosa in the town.

Covid has done damage to many businesses and Dakshin is one of those i guess. Dakshin used be my favourite place for Dosa and vadas but recently the size / shape and quantity of the masala in the dosa is reduced, vada is hollow inside, in totality i am disappointed, hope they will improve the service soon.

Definitely not Dakshin (South) , coz you get better South Indian food in Uttar(North).Terrible Dosa, an average Onion Uttapam and bad service. Definitely not a place to be!Visited April 18th 9.30am

Visiting again after a long time. Breakfast is pretty the same taste after all these years: cant say its improved any. Isnt much crowded in the morning. Lunch time should be the busiest time of the day.Parking space is limited: not more than 3/4 cars can be parked, I guess. It is rumored that its the best vegetarian restaurant in the city, but cant say it lives up to that reputation.

It was thick ghee roast little ghee. The vegitarian hotel should be improved a little.
