The college, academically and aesthetically, is amazing♥️🔥 Ive done my degree in English Literature from there and is currently pursuing my Masters there. Every departments are good and the current principle, Dr. Rajini Balachandran, former HOD of the English department, is the finest!

College is great but the office staffs are extremely lazy and incompetent. They dont show any respect towards the students. The college is truly a heaven amd have good teachers.

Awesome ambience. Rather a collage i feel like a touring spot. It has everything in that scene. Looking to collage, the entry begin with a mini hair pin bend filled with forest. Wow such a feel you know...! If it rainy then u can live in the inner nature. Such a beauty she is. I love the environment and each and every molecule in there..😍

In 1878, it came to be known as Kerala Vidyasala and was thrown open to Hindu boys of all castes.In 1879, the institution was affiliated to the University of Madras as a second grade college. In 1900, the institution was renamed The Zamorins College. In 1904, the Zamorin constituted a Board of Management for the administration of the college. The present site of the college at Pokkunnu was purchased with the help of a grant from the Guruvayur Devaswom.In recognition of this gift, the institution was renamed The Guruvayurappan College. In 1955, the college moved to its present site, at Pokkunnu. In 1958, the college was affiliated to the University of Travancore, which later came to be known as the University of Kerala. Later in 1968, when the University of Calicut was formed, the college was affiliated to it. The college acquired its present name The Zamorins Guruvayurappan College in 1981.

The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan college is one of the oldest institutions in the country celebrating its 138th t anniversary. It is located in Kozhikode, popularly called The City of Zamorin’s. This verdant campus nestling on top of a hill called Krishnagiri Hills, 8 Kms away from the heart of the city, spans a vast area of 92 acres. The green campus provides the ideal environment for a healthy, creative, learning-oriented context.Our patrons have provided us with a healthy, beautiful and green ambience and a tradition which is well anchored in the rich history of Kerala. The city of Calicut, popularly called the City of Zamorins, reflects this tradition. We thus place a lot of importance on imparting traditional cultural values to our students. Our innovative course (M.Sc. Health & Yoga Therapy) and the add-on courses in Communicative Sanskrit and Yoga Therapy stand testimony to this. We also anticipate the requirements of a globalized society.The English school started in June 1877 to impart English education to the members of the Zamorin’s family, marked the beginning of the great educational institution which later played a vital role in shaping the educational and intellectual life of Malabar. The school began functioning in the Zamorin’s palace at Tali. In the very next year the school was thrown open to all caste. Hindu boys and was given the name “Kerala Vidyasala”.This institution was connected to the Madras University as a Second Grade college in February 1879. The name “Kerala Vidyasala” was given up in 1900 and this institution was renamed ‘The Zamorin’s College’. Till the year 1904, The Zamorin himself administrated the affairs of the college. The same year The Zamorin Raja constituted a Board of Management. Eleven years later, i.e., in 1915 the Court of Wards took over the Management of the Zamorin’s Estate and college. And in the same year the college was thrown open to all people irrespective of caste, creed and color. On the court of Wards relinquishing the management in 1927, the Zamorin constituted a Board of management comprising seven members.

One of the oldest college in calicut builded by Zamoothiri Raja which is located at pokkunnu. The college is situated on a hill and the public transports are available more than 1Km away from there. Campus atmosphere is marvelous surrounded by lots of trees and we can see the beautiful view of calicut city from there. The campus statue known as Chintha Shilpam is the largest campus statue in Asia. Faculties are very friendly and mess food is available in lower cost. Gives enough priorities to sports and games. Provide Msc in yoga. Available hostel facilities for girls

A NAAC B graded aided art and science college. Offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in many streams. Campus is located on top of the highest hills in Calicut named Pokkunu. Campus is spread over 100 acres of land. Although campus and buildings are limited in 4 acres, the remaining land is blessed with natural beauty which is available for students for extra curricular activities.College was on of the elite institutes in country at its starting years, but the academic quality produced by the college has declined in the last few decades due to irresponsible actions of management and staffs has caused a less popularity for college among the students looking for thier higher studies.Excess of campus politics and gang wars have cost college its pride and college was rated the lowest NAAC grade awarded to the aided colleges located in Calicut. Sports and Art contribution of the college has significantly lowered in past few years.

I remember this day when I complete my 67th year while you Invite old batch students of 67...I cannot forget my college and faculties also of course my batch mates my senior and juniors and share with them my joyful events, though I could not physically present ...I wish to inform to our students and college my contribution to College magazine my DRAWING of the Hero of Teachers day Personality DR .SARVEPALLI RADHAKRISHNAN with full of dots in Indian inks as a trial for a special art.It came successful and I contribute it to our college Magazine for publishing it 1967.Thanks Ramanathan SBI retd., 22nd May 15
