Wide variety of mouth watering Malabari delicacies. From delightful snacks to delicious main course and desserts, this place gifts you a great dining experience. The food quality and quantity justifies the rate.Above all, the ambience is top notch. It is decorated with old age utilities like Jute sacks, typewriters, metal jugs and teapots, old cauldrons and so on. Once you step in, it takes you to a tea shop in Malabar of the sixties.
Adaminde Chayakkada, Adams TeashopTheir dishes are in the very variety names😁Taste and tradition | Antique ...05-Jan-2020 — Adaminte Chayakkada is very near to the Kozhikode beach. The ambience is perfect such that you feel like youre entering an antique museum.Variety of menu and the vibrant ambience makes the restaurant special. Items are charged a little high. But its worth for the taste you enjoy. Didnt find any rush. They kept the names of the dishes little funny and took a decent effort to keep the interior of the restaurant engaging the customers. Service from the staff is appreciably good.Retro look.. beautiful ambiance.. great service and excellent food... Man a must visit when in Calicut
Adaminte chayakkada remains as one of my favourite food spots in Kozhikode. Especially when you visit the beach(which is always). The restaurant is having retro look with a very nice ambience. And the dishes have interesting names in kozhikkodan slang. Good quality food and customer service. Bit expensive but worth the money

Adaminte chayakada is popular in Kozhikode because of their unique food varieties and the ambience. The names of the food items are in exact kozhikoden slang. Also their dining set up, in shop furnitures and the wallpaintings provides a retro look. The price may look little expensive but the food quality never compromises. So whenever you are visiting Kozhikode beach, try to visit here too.
When I visited Kozhikode for the first time everyone there suggested to visit Adaminde Chayakkada. So me and my friends visited this beach road restaurant and oh man this restaurant just mesmerized my mind with its old fashioned lights, carts, telephones, wall hanging photos, green plants and the best of all was the food that came in a cart on the table 😋.The menu was really big with lots of pictures and diferent variety of dishes that I havent seen in my life. The drinks and desserts where of high quality and loved it more.... Whenever I visit Kozhikode again I will have to visit this restaurant once more.
Very tasty food. Nice ambience. One thing to point out is that when I ordered for a sulaimani they served an ordinary black tea for me.
This place really offers good food at price that I felt affordable. Their service is also not bad and they deliver the food at time.......
I visited yesterday.. It was really nice experience. Good ambience inside. Nice smell inside and also good music selection. When you enter inside you will feel the nostalgic moments. Most of the things they are using copper materials. Try water with the copper glass. Its taste different. We tried chicken biriyani and irachi choru. The second one was amazing.
A five star for ambience. The food is great, though a bit overpriced. The fish platter and the ghee rice is something out of the world. Its also a great place hangout and feast with you buddies. They have a lot to improve on the customer relations side. Its a struggle to get a waiters attention. Be careful with the menu if you are on a tight budget.
Adaminte Chayakkada in Malayalam means Tea Shop run by Adam! Although the ambience in the restaurant cant be related to the times of Adam and Eve, you will be taken back to the era of commodity bazaars and history of Kozhikode beyond 50 years. They have recreated the ambience of yester years with antiques and relics of the past including a wide range of valve radios, televisions, copper vessels, antique furniture with sacks of rice as back rests. This deserves one visit of anyone who comes to Calicut. However, vegetarians are amply warned of the heavy non-veg bias of the food on offer. By the way, the heritage and old world ambience need a little bit of getting used to. You cant blame anyone if one thinks that the place is a bit dusty and under-maintained.This is a very popular place in town, located near the beach and you are likely to find the place crowded, especially in the evenings. We had ordered their popular Arabic dishes and local fish varieties. We had fancy items like meat wrapped in parottas and regular appams with fish mango curry. Probably, because of the heavy rush and we had gone in by late evening, some items were not available. I would imagine that the chef and assistants were struggling to meet the customers needs. Some in our group felt that certain dishes served were marginally under-cooked and not well marinated. Perhaps most customers and serious non-vegetarians may have nothing much to complain about. Overall, the food was spicy and tasty as expected and can be rated as good (3/5). Just as some dishes are given fancy names, some of them have fancy price tags as well.To summarize, my first visit to Adaminte Chayakkada was definitely interesting. As for a repeat visit, I am not too sure!
This restaurant is a legend in Kozhikode. First visited about 4 years ago and then in January 2021. The food is superb, from the chai to all the dishes we tried out. The mini falooda was excellent. Very tasty and the spices are finely balanced to give a good feeling. The only regret was the limitations on the stomach. Over the years they have maintained their standards, which is very good. A visit to Kozhikode should include a dinner here. Service is excellent and fast. It is a very popular place and gets filled up quickly especially on weekends.
Good Items. But it is quite Expensive...Koothe poratta is very tasty
Located at desham in Aluwa, 3 km far from Aluwa Metro station. Ambience is really good. Food and snacks are Good, Tea is extremely Good, But the behavior of staff is really worst. Request the concern person to improve this.Restroom ✅️Digital Payment ✅️Family Dining ✅️Takeaway ✅️Delivery ✅️Parking ✅️
Visited here multiple times. Especially in the evenings. All the snacks are very tasty and full of variety. They also have different varieties of porotta, choru(rice), biriyani etc. The ones to try are Aadivaasi Chilly Chicken and Chicken pothi/kizhi porotta. Overall great.
Food is only average. Not met my expectations. The price is not worth of the taste of the food. Even though they have a wide variety of food, I dont think its worth the hype
It had a good atmosphere, almost like we went back in time. The shop had variety of dishes also.I like to give 4 stars but I thought they have to upgrade a bit. And they have paper straws for juices and its a bit difficult to drink from it as the paper dampens and stick together so I think thats the thing they have to change.Overall it was a good experience .
Went there yesterday. They are following covid protocols. Had an evening tea ans snacks. Chatti pathiri.. the best ever I tasted. Also ordered alfaham. That was take away. Little bit disappointed here. Not as much expected. But it oke. Tea was great. As part of diet I was not having tea for a long time. Cheat day.. tea was amazing 😀
Place of variety chai & variety dishes..... Good place to ve food
The shop is located very near to beach and the theme is of the shop is an antique 80`s shop which catches the attention... The tables, chairs and the interiors are old fashiond and worth ur photos... The quantity and quality of the food was good too... They have many special signature dishes too... Though Not so economical, but is worth being here....
Good ambience, great chattipathiri and tea. My daughter loved their icecream. Their theme is antiquity in modernism. And its brought out well. The location is apt for this themeI loved their idea of copper jars for handwash(dont be panicked, its connected to the running water pipes)
It was really a great experience . A great restaurant which showcase culture. Really good ambience . Food and services are really good . But a bit expensive . Overall it is a good place to eat
Completely dissatisfied with the food in this place..I ordered chatichore and it was not tasty and I just waste the food.. never suggest this place to anyone and I also never go for this place 👎
Good asthetics , not that much tasty and hygiene for the high prices...
Good varieties of Kozhikode delicacies (especially in non-veg) are available, at reasonable prices.
Awsome taste.. you will love the taste .. and nice table service.. ❤️❤️❤️
* Nice ambience* lack parking facilities* near to the beach* tasty food but a bit overpriced* we tried kizhi porotta (was available in beef, chicken, alfaham options, among which alfaham was really good), passion fruit mojito ( excellent) and chicken pottitherichathu. fried ice cream was not available at the moment.
Had dinner with friends. Menu is perfect. In addition to the great food the service was awesome. Our service staff , Subin had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. He made certain that we had everything we need. The food is exceptional. Highly recommended.
I could smell the taste & my colleagues faces showed the class of nadan flavour mixed with traditional menu at this restuarant. The mint lime I had was awesome & double Dekker size. As a veg, I could not enjoy to the fullest, but still feeling it provided with an antique filled ambience is something worth to spend.
HiAm not satisfied with the current taste of food its lost their old tastes
Very good restaurant. They are serving food items with authentic spices those are all yummy. Most important thing that I observed is staffs attitudes and treating fantastic. I was forced to give 05 star because of everything here is dynamic. Its located exactly near to Kozhikode Beach
Good food with amazing interiors and ambience. Serves standard dishes as well as signature / special dishes. Worth a visit if you are travelling to kozhikode.
Takes us to the traditional era. Gives an experience of nostalgia and reminisce. And the food is Als equally good. Wide variety of local foods..
Delicious malabar foods depicting the old conventional chayakkada concept; Snacks and meals are available at a very close walking distance to calicut beach.
Always as good as new and fresh...👌👌👌Nice location.
Excellent ambiance. The shop is well decorated with antique materials.Food are also delicious.
Snack and Tea are good..Nice ambiance too
Well maintained hotel with good ambience and service.Must visit place near Calicut beach.
Unique names and high price, thats it, below average food.
Dont let the paid promotions fool you..They have only like regional malabari snacks which are available at every corner of kozhikode, but less delicious and costs five times more money. We had 3 tea 3 pazhampori and a samosa(which tastes like s**t btw) and they billed us ₹130. Completely worthless.[Dont go there]
Superb place around Kozhikode beach. Explicit ambience taking you to the culture and vibes of Kozhikode. Food is of exquisite quality and taste.
Good ambience, food was okay. There is scope for improvement.
What a ambience.. like a museum. The shop is well decorated with antique materials. The kozhikodan language is written in the hotel is funny. Wash basin is extra ordinary.Try to visit the hotel once. The taste is super.Sweet and sour Mango Juice is so tasty.I like this hotel and food.
As the name suggests, a good place for tea and snacks. The ginger tea was excellent and so was the cinnamon black tea. The place has loads of retro stuff.
The ambience is great. Theme is antique Kerala. Good for dining with family. Has a wide variety of Kerala cuisine. Had Kerala porotta roll and watermelon juice and it was good.
No one should try to get here and be fooled. We ate 3 unnakkaya(smaller version of pazhampori ), 1 samosa and 3 teas the bill was Rs 130. Even better tasting snacks are available in many shops in Kozhikkod. Now if you want to waste money you can go here, but by that time it will be better for you to go to Chicking. No one should be stuck with paid promotion. If u think that im lying, then go and get fooled by yourself and read this review again after receiving your bill and take a calculator and enjoy.വിലയോ മെച്ചം ഗുണമോ തുച്ഛം.
What an ambience! Just got nostalgic with all that was displayed there! The food was awesomely delicious. Had different varieties of tea as well. Good to spend time with family at any time of the day. Would definitely want to go again. Walkable to the beach. Had to take some time to find a parking and saw it getting more crowded at the evenings. Thanks for the good service, cleanliness and ambience.
For some people, food is not the means to survive, it’s their life. Even after they are done with their three staple meals, they have to hog on food and keep dreaming about the food they are going to have. (Already salivating?). Adam is also that kind of person who loves to eat varieties of meals and wonder the food lovers with his preparation in different tastes. He found the real smell of meal in the kitchen of Malabar.Destination to destination, Adam has tasted andstudied the style of each dish in his table. He used to start preparing these styles in his kitchen. And he loves to make varieties of food for everyone. Around all these food and preparation, Adam realized that a restaurant can utilize his talent of food making and can give styles of variety meals to the customers. ‘Adaminde Chayakkada’ was born from this thought. Being a true Malabari at heart, these dishes were then redesigned to impress the Moplah taste buds.Adaminde Albudha Nombthura’ was Adam’s stepping stone to Kozhikode food industry. It became a bit of sensation. Needless to say, everybody loved everything about it. It entered the to-do list of people outside Kozhikode during the month of Ramadan. Along with home-style favorites we, Adam’s crew offer our guests a wide variety of ethnic tastes and flavors that include our traditional family recipes. The taste of each dish has become famous with its name and taste. Adam gives an uncommon name for his dishes. Peridatha Chicken Fry, Chicken Pottitherichadh, Bejaraya Brain Fry are some of the dishes. We call our menu ‘Fusion Cuisine’ as we combine the tastes of different countries with ours into something worth trying. On weekend mornings, we invite our guests to rise and shine for our endless breakfast buffet, which features ‘The Royal Malabar Naastha’.Along with age old authentic recipes, Adaminde Chayakkada kitchen team also takes pride in whipping up new recipes that emphasize bolder flavors without compromising the freshness and scratch-made quality which they are known for. Adam also brings the taste of ‘Adaminde Chayakkada’ in to the Dubai with the ‘thakkaram’. It becomes fame in the city of Dubai for its taste of real. Today ‘Adaminde Chayakkada’ becomes a well-known restaurant for food lovers. Because our commitment to our guests doesn’t stop with our food. We believe in providing outstanding hospitality too. Each day we strive to deliver a pleasurable and interesting dining experience for our guests. We make sure people have a good time so that Adaminde Chayakkada is always somewhere people want to come back to. We believe that the beginning is the most important part. Begin with our amazing starters!
I love this destination and the taste of variety foods served here. They offer a variety of foods and drinks. Especially the variety of juices and tea served here is awesome. Above all the interior work and ambience of the hotel is a masterpiece .Who ever is the brain behind the interior design he is a genius for sure.
Good food.Variety interior.Nice service from staffs.Variety of dishes and variety name for dishes.Well maintained shop.Interior has some old touch.Best for hangout with friends and family.Parking is provided in front of roadside of the hotel.Nicely placed everything.Rate is some what affordable.People can easily notice while travelling in Vechicles.
Nice teashop. Variety of foods available. The name of the foods in local Malayalam language itself is very funny and interesting. The dishes are tasty too. The thing which make this hotel/teashop different from others is its interior design, foods available and its name. The interior is designed just like an old teashop. The hotel is nice and neat too.
Loved their meals and biriyani . Tried variety of chaya and kattan during my weekend at kozhikod. One of the best places to vibe.
Kozikkode style biriyani, fresh fish, meat and chicken items are the very best one can have. They serve traditional dishes in style. Every single order got taste, taste and ultimate taste. Atmosphere is awesome, old songs like the interior designs.Tea is talk of town as well as fruit juices surprisingly they got Jack fruit juice as well to make you comfortable and worth of money. Not at all expensive... just opposite to the beach.
Great place to hangout. Better to book your seat and go to avoid large waiting time. Great variety of food .
Restaurant with vintage ambience. Price bit high and the taste was not worth the value of money... It has been a popular restaurant in Calicut for the past few years because of its ambience and funny interesting names of food which conquered the heart of people but the taste then seems to be vanished.
One of the best restaurants of Kozhikode. Famous for its unique ambience and traditional Kerala food. Opposite Kozhikode beach. Mostly crowded. Tasty food and different varieties. A must place to visit!
Interior is unique. Good Ambience. We just had tea and some snacks. They were superb!
Loved it, good ambience and delicious nadan food
Superb must visit place in Calicut
Has a good Ambiance. Great Food. Nostalgic
One of the best tea I have ever had, nice and nostalgic ambiance which brings back old memories, good service and also good and tasty food
Very good place to visit with friends and family. It is having a huge place to sit and the food quality is awesome. Variety of cuisine available. It has a very good ambience and the interior work is marvellous.
It is an unique restaurant to visit. The ambiance is kidu. A retro style one. The whole ambiance is superb. the hand wash looks quite different. we visited at lunch time. it was too hot and rush.will get different sun light inside the restaurant. Food is good. we felt like a little bit highly prized. still we enjoyed the lunch.
It’s a theme based restaurant, really loved the theme and the experience, the staff is courteous and the service is good.It gets really busy during peak hours, there would definitely be a wait time so be patient, it’s definitely worth it.Parking is another issue, you will find it difficult to find a spot during peak hours. The food tastes great and there’s a wide variety for those who loves non vegetarian food.
Creative ambienceVariety of dishes and name
Good service and healthy atmosphere. Great ambiance. Menu is really interesting the names of the dishes and other things are teally an colloquial language touch. Nan malabar based feeling,
Everything is unique here; From the retro styling of the premises to the eye-catching names of dishes. Gotta try the snacks here coz Ive never tasted them elsewhere.
Snacks I tried where extremely good. But few of the bread items disappointed me. Over all its a nice spot for chit chats. Good Ambience especially in night. Sulaimanis are good. Service is OK
Ordered Thalassery biryani through potafo from Chevayoor branch.. order changed to butter chicken biryani on their behalf as Thalassery biryani was out of stock. The chicken was rotten and smelling.. could not eat one bite. Terrible experience.
A must visit place in Kozhikode.Situated very close to Kozhikode beach near Corporation office. A different ambience. Very very tasty food especially non veg category. The names of dishes are really funny.Service - ****. Good.Parking area. - there is no parking area in front of the hotel. You can park your car on the foot path. There are A/c & noon A/c area in this hotel.Chicken dishes of this restaurant are world famous. This is not a star rated hotel.
Very bad food. I bought chilly chicken. The chicken is fried before 2 days atleast and put it in todays gravy. Gravy is a ksheenam gravy. Totally… ബെയ്ചാൻ കേറിയാൽ കായി പോയി മക്കളെ
This place was suggested by a friend of mine and he had also told me to try BEEF.When I visited the place . The staff behaviour was just so good. The taste and everything.Must try;-apple tea and saffron tea.-king fishAnd the very special FRIED ICE CREAM.theyve got two compartments the AC and non AC one.AC opens at 7pm.If at all you can bare the humidity then come anytime .. else visit after 7pm!Ill share a few pictures of the inside and out of the restaurant check them out.
Excellent ambiance, different types of menu
Awesome food and ambience
The place should be visited for its ambience and the old school experience, where you sit in a rugged yarn coveted seats, can see old motorcar/food/photo ads and enjoy some good food with signature dishes! Must try in calicut. ( P.S. : one may find some mosquitoes, well they are part of old school experience!)
A variety restaurant in name, appearance and in the menu also. Have been to there only once, but a sure visit in my next Calicut journey. The shop is popular for its variety menu which gives you some Malabar Specials most of them are named in a funny way. We tried a chicken fry, a mushroom starter and volcano tea. All these items were delicious.Location: near beach. Most of the auto drivers know the place, so you just need to tell the name.
Adaminde chayakkadai is the best non veg hotel. Make sure great spice foods. Pothi Paratha , virapan chicken and more ...இந்த கடையில் சுவையான சிக்கன் வகை உள்ளது. பொதி புரோட்டா, வீரப்பன் சிக்கன் (கோழியை நிறுத்தி பொரித்தது.)சுவைக்கலாம்
When u visit this place do try their chicken platter which comes with a fry crispy vermicelli type chicken, green herbs chicken, red chilly chicken, kada fry and many more( names of chicken written is different). Presentation excellent. A Good place to take pictures of food. But taste not that as expected. Chicken & Beef podhi choru can be improved. No flavors wer found. Pathiri & karimeen pwolichadh wer amazing. They also have local chocolates a.k.a mittai like cigarette mittai, thenn mittai, narenga mittai... & local stuffs displayed in the restaurant. Also they serve delicious evening snacks. A good spot when u visit with friends and family.
Nice ambience but food is not up to the price they are charging
One of the best restaurant at Kozhikode. Located near to Calicut beach. Ambience of this restaurant is superb. You can see a variety types of old utensils here and its nicely used in restaurant interior. Best place to hangout with family and friends. Food is really nice and you can have variety types of yummy malabar dishes. Price of all dishes are reasonable. Restaurant is well maintained and staffs are really friendly. I used to come with my family and friends here. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Check out the green apple kattan here... its simply awesome
Good vibe good quality nice service.. but little expensive
Very good food.... supurb atmosphereA/c and non a/c seating available. Price seems to be a bit high, but its worth.
The ambience of of this place is awesome!!! The menu is quiet packed with a variety of delicious north kerala food which you may not find elsewhere. They have done every possible thing to showcase the food n culture of vintage kozhikode.
Dont miss this place, the food is extremely flavorful, the presentation is on point and the service is excellent. We went here on our last day, I wish we would have done it earlier so I could revisit it. Next time!
