Quiet and calm, everyone liked it, but a friend said she expected more from this place; I don’t know what is personalized, a monastery, a church, like everywhere else a church. Nature-Eye cannot be taken away!Upon arrival at the place, they are accommodated in a hotel: rooms for an average of five people, bunk beds, clean linen, clean rooms, warm in winter. They are fed twice: lunch and dinner on the first day.The next day there will be no food! But you can eat in the tea house, on the territory of the monastery, as well as in the tea house with AMAZING! delicious meals next to the dining room where you will have your meal on the first day of your stay. BE SURE TO TAKE CASH WITH YOU! there will be nowhere to rent them in the Optina area, but cards are not accepted!In your free time between services, you can visit three springs: in two, if you wish, you can plunge into, and if you have something, you can take some water with you.Everywhere is clean, beautiful temples, forest, nature, silence and tranquility, and grace ...Be sure to visit this place! Were in May 2019. A huge night sky with a billion stars, clean air and birdsong. There are two-story beds, there are a lot of people in the room, but people also slept in the corridor, getting up at 5 in the morning ... Later you can eat deliciously in the dining rooms. In the springs you can plunge, drench from a bucket, take water with you home. On the river bank there is a source with hydrogen sulfide. The river flows quietly, peacefully. But this is a pilgrimage - a state of silence in the soul, joy in the heart.

Optina Pustyn .... our story. Kaluga region, Kozelsky district. The place where you want to return. Monastery. Many churches in the area. Many tourists and pilgrims. There is a hotel where you can stay. Free parking, refectory, souvenir shops. Two holy sources, equipped fonts. A very beautiful place.

Very spiritually strong monastery! Still rich in sophisticated monks! The monastery of St. Ambrose of Optina is closed to the public! Prayers and anointing at his relics take place every day! From the bus station near metro Teply Stan several times a day there are buses to the monastery! There is an early and late liturgy! I recommend visiting this holy place!

The place itself is wonderful. There is a font, 2 sources. I do not recommend buying pastries: there are few fillings and it leaves much to be desired, the dough is dry and not very tasty.

Despite the fact that there are always a lot of pilgrims, there is no fuss and crowd anywhere. Everything is reasonably arranged. Huge parking lot, good hotels, everything is clean and beautiful. Flowerbeds, the eye rejoices! There is where to eat. Of course, its better to come here not for one day. But we can not always afford this, which is a pity .... The place is holy, prayed, the soul rests !!!!

A monastery with a large territory. Entrance is from 05:00 to 23:00.Three temples, on big holidays in all there is a service. Today is Christmas, there are a lot of people, come to evening service in advance.In the refectory (2 pieces behind the main gate you can eat lean food). In the shop to the right of the entrance, they sell chic scarves, skirts and high-quality leather covers for a passport.

The refectory is very strangely set up. during the rush hours for tea, you can stand for an hour because of one cashier, but I generally keep quiet about asking without queuing. There are toilets, candles are available, notes can be simply left without asking the staff. The territory is large, the parking lot is huge. There are direct buses from Moscow and minibuses from Kozelsk. There are hotels and houses of pilgrims.
