This a very popular and oldest of all the temples at kovvur. Located ideally on the banks of godavari this temple is famous for subhrahmanyam sashti which falls in the month of december or the lunar margashira and is celebrated in all its grandeur. A mela or local theerth is conducted every year on this day and people throng to seek blessings of the lord. The long queues here are indication of the popularity of the lord bcoz people from nearby villages also pool up. As early as 2 am the puja starts with abhishekam on this day. Childless couple, bachelors and spinsters do attend puja here on this day and its popular belief that their wishes are fulfilled. They do come next year to thank the lord. Apart from that day every Tuesday during dawn abhisheka is performed to the lord. Jataka doshas are said to be removed by offering puja here. May God bless everyone.. Om sarvana bhava..

Religiously interested people visiting this place and Abhishekam on every Tuesday will performed by the priest for the benefit of people ,who are interested in jataka doshas(astrologically ) and wanted to relieve from it.
