Modern living facilities, feel like an old country house, middle of the city.

The stay was excellent. We (me ,wife & daughter ) stayed for two times (Jan & May) in 2021 with regard to my daughter marriage. The hospitality of the owner was outstanding.

Good Nd peaceful home stay in the midst of the busy town. Just one reminder to improve Cleanliness especially in the toilets Nd to improve kitchen area -waste disposal system ,Gas too slow ,seperate small fridge for guest will be good idea .

We were a bridal group and stayed at Fenns to avoid the long journey on the day of the wedding. Oh! we loved the placed and cannot explain how happy we are for taking Fenns rather than staying in a Hotel. It was perfect for receiving a few close friends in the late evening and our whole family could assemble the next day before proceeding to the wedding. The photos were stunning, especially in front of the compound wall covered in wines. We wish we had our whole family during the night.I couldnt meet the Fenns though my uncle shared how warm they were when the booking had been made. Ms. Shyla though was more than gracious in being the perfect host in the absence of the owners.Know what is offered :1. Its a very old building and not designed to be a hotel.2. There is no food offered, though theres a fully functional kitchen with utensils and crockery. Zomato works in Kottayam.3. Do not expect room service 24x7 on the press of a bell. Good place to home stay

Absolutely loved it. It was raining when I came. Mathai Fenn, the owner of the place, had a friendly chat before passing on the key to my room that was the first down the stairs. Outside was all green and lovely, I saw this only the next day. Theres a lovely little pond too. The room was so neatly maintained. I loved most the writing table at the corner. Made myself a coffee with the kettle there in the morning. Serene stay it was, and quite near the station.

Hospitality is par excellence. Located in the heart of the city. Irrespective of their personal comforts , the manager and the attender are always at your beck and call.During my stay it was raining and auto was on strike. The managers husband school teacher by profession, irrespective of his busy schedule gave me a ride in his car to the railway station. Good people. I love to stay their when ever I visit Kottayam in future.

The property is a old property. The room was spacious but the washroom was very small. It was not comfortable enough. There was selected toiletries in the washroom. There was no proper sign board in front of the property hence it was difficult to detect the property. There was no food option here.

Pros:1. Good location , Walking distance from Kottayam rail station.2. Good locality , Close to the city Centre and KSRTC bus stand.3. Looks good from outside .Cons:1. Bathroom is very small , almost like train toillets in size.2. The Room is average with not so impressive bedsheet , pillow covers, basic furnitures3. Drainage water was overflowing in the bathroom.4. The entrance to the room is not proper and very narrow.5. Two fans in the room may touch your hands if you raise it.6. You have to climb down to the room from the main entrance and parking.7. The room is at the back of the house and very close to not so well maintained garden. So in rainy season and at night you have to be very careful and cautious.

Fenn Hall is very special to me because I am very close to the Fenn family but also because it is a beautiful old colonial home with a lot of character. It is perfect and has very positive vibes, much more vibrant than a hotel.I spent hours gazing over and into the lotus/lily pond with the tiny wish who always felt free to come tease if I put my feet in the water.From the vines on the white walls, the calming red stone in the flooring, the blooming flowers in the garden, to the green grass in the backyard, the outside seating area to the old furniture, everything is charming in its own way.The people who live in the House also constitute a big part of the overall atmosphere, and Mathai is one of the most intelligent sage like people I have ever met. Rajendran, the cook makes amazing food ( I think I gained 2 kilos in my 10 days there).I took some walks in Kottayam with Mathai and the temples that I came across were serene and calm. Its a magical place to be in.It is so close to the backwaters and Aleppy, and also Kumily and Thekaddy. Kerela is magical and beautiful and even if i try, I cannot put it in words! I visited Kochi, the bird sanctuary, Aleppy, the Backwaters, The Fenn rubber plantation in Varzoor, Thekaddy and Kumily.It was an amazing experience and I am sure I will visit again.Thank You so much for everything!

It was a very good place to stay. The location was near to the railway station and easily reachable. The staff was good. Rooms were nice to stay. In terms of security also it was ok.

I own the place. Its a colonial house with period archetecture. The house four generations grew up in. I want it to breathe history.

June 2013 couldnt have been better spent! I experienced Kerala, like I would never ever have before - the culture, the hospitality, the history, the beauty; and I owe this entire cumulative experience to the Fenns. Staying at Fenn hall and travelling to Allepy, Kochi, Ernakullam, and learning about the origin of the places, and its culture and beauty with Mathai Fenn, and Amit Fenn, has taught me more than anyone could ever have taught me.... am overwhelmed by the entire experience, and the food. special thanks to Rajendra anna for the amazing food and conversations!The evening conversations with Mathai (uncle) and Amit, was intellectually stimulating and food for soul!!The lotus pond, the guppies, the papaya trees, the coconut trees, mango trees..... ahhhhh am speechless! :)I travelled in a boat through the backwaters, and learnt so much about the history of trade and achitecture of Kerala. Ofcourse watching the sun set was an added advantage....:)I miss the pleasant faces of the staff and i hope i can make a trip back to Kerala and stay once again thereThank you so much for the wonderful experience which i will cherish for all eternity! :)Lots of love,Nicolette.

Nyc antique home that available in middle of kottayam city with a reasonable price.

A nice place for staying right in the city centre with access to all facilities. Staff also provide prompt response to any concern.

The hotel is situated right in the residential area. There was no restaurant for in house dining but available around 100 meters. Services were managed by the care taker and no such time boundaries there for going out and coming back. We didnt used WiFi and Security wise it was safe to stay.

Overall good nice atmosphere no hotels nearby no tv in the room its ok for one night

Amazing home stay right at the heart of Kottayam town

Place was quite nice but there was GPS problem. There was one difficulty that language barrier and unable to communicate properly.

Nice and clam place. Felt fresh and energetic with the atmosphere. Ambience is so good.

This building has been replaced by Noah Ark Rainbow flats. The flats are nice and gives a good view of Kottayam.

Nice place in an accessible location. The room we stayed in had a bathroom which was the size of a cupboard.
