Went to Footnote for brunch, certainly one of the best I have been. The salmon bagel was delicious, never had one better before, although I used to live in the city of the bagel 🥯, New York City. Latte was excellent as well as service. Really impressed.
Nice coffee and a relaxing place for a sit before a walk through London Fields. Oat milk cappuccino was excellent.
Great corner cafe. Sit in or out. Good coffee and cakes etc. Tucked round the corner just off Graham Road.
Lovely setting, with tables outside. Excellent coffee and delicious food.
So good, I went twice in a week. Next time in Hackney, its where Im getting my breakfast!
This cute little place is just down the road from pidgin. Its gets quite busy in the mornings so larger groups had to wait. The coffee was really great but the breakfast menu was great. It was mainly veg with a couple fish dishes. I had the smoked mackerel which was insane. The potato cake underneath was out of this world.
Great service, lovely little corner cafe on a quiet street where you can watch cyclists pass by and pet cute dogs 🐶 Their hazelnut croissants is AMAZING!
Cute place for a quick breakfast, really nice bacon & Brie bagel
Lovely corner café in London Fields area, pleasant welcome. Nice menu, ambience, deli, shop, outdoor seating too. Fab stop on our journey for refreshments.
Always amazing coffee and service ♥️
Great oat latte. Before covid, i used to go there for brunch - absolutely lush food. Great fresh juice too.
Best place for coffee in East London. Staff great and atmosphere on point
Really nice. Such nice staff too well done
Delicious coffee, tasty food, relaxed atmosphere.
Visited today ordered a grilled halloumi salad wrap, after waiting 20 odd minutes the same waitress came out and asked me what I was waiting for, then said they didnt have any halloumi so I had to order something different and wait all over again. First and last visit very unprofessional
I almost never write reviews, so me making an effort means that this place is truly special :)I have been there twice and every time the food was absolutely delicious, staff was friendly and juices nice and refreshing. I can also strongly recommend the coffee! Go, visit- you wont regret it. Congrats to the cook- you make the dishes look beautiful and soooo tasty. Absolutely love this place.
Great coffee, nice service.
Smiling service, modern, tasty dishes.
Amazing coffee and lovely staff, can’t wait to try the food when lockdown is over :)
Love this place, I truly recommend it! The staff is super nice as well, and I can see that they are very covid conscious. Will definitely go back!
Arrived at 11.45 on a Monday morning, only 2 tables occupied. Ordered a smashed avocado on toast with a poached egg. Told that they run out of poached eggs so only fried eggs were available (what place doesnt cook their EGGS to order? I should have realised what was to come..). Agreed to the substitution. Got served a stone cold piece of toast with overly salted avocado and... You guess it... Old fried eggs. Inedible. Upon providing polite feedback didnt receive an offer for refund just a half muttered sorry by a clueless waitress. Avoid.
Wonderful place for the weekend brunch
Rude owner, COME HERE IF YOU LIKE ABUSE AND BURNT COFFEE!
Friendly staff and really good coffee!
Great coffee, no wonder there are lines!
Great coffee and pastries
Ordered two coffees, waited about 20 mins, only to find out they had no lids. Had to walk home emulating a coffee balancing circus act, ended up with about 1.2 coffees by the end of it. Seriously, could you not mention before.
Really lovely down to earth service. Extremely helpful with our questions. Great tasting sourdough 3 cheese toastie and a lovely iced oat milk latte. Well done and thank you!
Loved the food and atmosphere here. Welsh rarebit was delicious and so was the juice I ordered.
I had the poached eggs on sourdough with broccoli and bacon which was delicious. The dressing was spot on and the bacon which was advertised as award winning definitely delivered. I also liked the amount of bacon you get, a lot of the places give you two pieces nowadays but here there’s a lot. The broccoli was tender and fresh. The only reason I gave the place 4 stars is because the broccoli was too cold for me. It would’ve been perfect if it would be room temperature.
Me and the kids love it here. Great food and service
Great flavours in their brunches. Have had four or five things off the menu and every one has been delicious. Its not your cheap option but is a great place for breakfast.
Very tasty coffee! And the shop itself is really nice and lovelyThe staff is very friendly too!I highly recommend this place.
Went there for a cuppa: the chap who approached me at the door was wearing his mask under his nose. No thank you, I will support my local community when my local community shows basic customers consideration during this awful pandemic. They need to re-train their staff on how to wear their masks.
Great neighbourhood cafe in a nice spot! Lots of fresh ingredients. Nice place to visit on a quiet weekday.
Great food and great drinks. Friendly atmosphere and cute dog.
I had an amazing beetroot smoothie. Service was good to with a smile and some beautiful faces 🙌🏿✊🏿🙌🏿
Best coffee weve found in the neighbourhood.
Really nice place for brunch, big windows for a sunny morning or afternoon. A healthy and tasty selection of food as well 👌🏾
You would have thought the guy that makes the coffee would be appreciative of custom at times like these. He has no idea about customer service at all
The brunch is the best in East London, the coffee is fantastic and the place is filled with plants and sunshine. Plus the owners are kind and caring and the staff are happy. A dream cafe to spend a few hours/all day in.
Great coffee and delicious croissants.
Visited this place a couple of times. Like the atmosphere, the food is still delicious, but : little bit pricey according to the portion. Juices are really good!!!!
Ridiculous Prices. A Green Tea the amount of an Espresso Cup for £2.80. it was also cold. Been told by the manager that it is served cold on purpose, but at least shouldnt they write it on the menu if you present yourself as someone who knows about tea? Sorry but NoNo. Staff was gentle and kind. But not again. Sorry.
I was looking for a place to eat an avocado toast. I ended up having an avocado salad at Footnote. Unfortunately the avocado was raw and I couldnt eat it. The salad was quite tasty anyways but very small especially because I couldnt eat the main ingredient. I told this to the waitress but they didnt compensate it. The venue was nice but unfortunately not enough for another visit.
The food was great, we loved the fresh bread and crispy bacon. Most servers were super friendly and the food came quickly. Very trendy atmosphere and client base.
Changed my review after a major improvement in service and attitude. Great job!
Very good quality food and nice, bright location. Portions could be slightly bigger but overall a great place for brunch near London Fields.
A delightful mid-morning breakfast for the three of us—the food was excellent and imaginatively presented! As good as that was, it was surpassed by the staff, they are friendly, energetic and generally fun. We would happily return and we may, even if we have to go on a ten-hour flight. Well-done!
Very bad experience, we ordered a dish that we waited ages for and was never served. Ordered it again and the waitress got confused and thought we didnt want it, waited for another 40min before realising the confusion. No apologies on her side.. maybe if theyd turn down the music waiters would be able to hear you. Very little professionalism.
Worst shop in Hackney
Really good food, slightly different menu. Service was lovely. They need new salt and pepper jars rather than ones where you stick your fingers in.
Best coffee
Great food and coffee. Super friendly staff and overall a lovely experience. They have seating outside for the warm weather. Prompt service.
Medium sized cafe with plants and an emphasis in quality ingredients. Brunch items range from £7-£13.50. Food is very well presented and delicious.
Quiet, nice staff and a lovely pot of tea.
Cute little cafe in Hackney on the popular Wilton way.Had the avocado on toast and iced coffee which was nice but the prices were a bit high, perhaps due to the amount of people who spend all day there on their laptops!Staff were friendly and service was fine.
The cafe has a nice vibe but the food is average. Despite saying they offer vegan options on the menu they wouldnt exchange eggs for avocado in my dish so I ended up paying £2.5 extra for my meal. Bit of a scam.
Lovely little cafe, very friendly owners! Coffee is very nice; full bodied and smooth. Great juices, snacks and sorbet.
I stumbled across this place while cycling between two project locations. They ran out of a few things so it must have meant that they have been busy. I had the salmon with seaweed salad which was umami tasty but the seaweed was a bit hard to cut in the bowl. The Blissful watermelon and cucumber and lime fresh juice was very refreshing too. Friendly table service!
Super quaint little street. Classic Hackney café situation. Really nice
Great coffee, including delicious decaffe. Optimum steamed oat milk too. Bright and airy establishment. Top marks for top plants. Mega.
Lovely food. Lovely staff. Delicious juice
Healty food, super kind staff
Had the worst experience within this restaurant. When walking in we felt like there wasnt no welcome by staff and they were very held back. It wasnt cosy and was not a friendly environment. We had to call them a few times to order. Then when making an order I asked for things to be removed was told that was fine where it wasnt which showed the staff dont really know there menu. When food came it was cold and not how I had ordered. One really rude waitress when I said the food wasnt how I ordered .Would never go back and do not advise others to .
Nice local cafe. Nice food and ambience
Footnote is a charming local spot for coffee, brunch and dinner. The owners really care about the quality of the produce and the service. Plus their wines have some beautiful family history. A must visit.
A very nice restaurant, the staff were absolutely lovely and the Avocado Mash I had was perfect. HOWEVER I won’t be returning. During my visit I couldn’t help but notice what I presume is either the owner or manager treating his staff like dirt. It is obvious his staff walk on egg shells around him and I couldn’t help but notice a massive passive aggressive attitude from him. It honestly ruined my experience because I had a similar experience in a previous job of mine so I know exactly how the staff feel and I wish I had spoken up and said something to the guy there and then. If that’s how he acts towards staff infront of customers I’d honestly hate to think about what he is like behind closed doors. Hopefully he was just having a bad day, but none the less I won’t be returning or recommending to my friends.
The food here is spot on! I agree its not cheap but the quality meets the price. As an avid oat flat white drinker, I gotta be honest, its okay. The girls in there give you an incredible friendly service. One guy who does the coffee does need to work on his humour as I find majority of his jokes offensive at best which makes me reluctant to even go there. Also, dude, dont judge me on my choice of milk. If alternative milk is such a pain for you, dont put it on offer.
Great little place. Good food, friendly service.
Beautiful place
Great coffee. amazing food. best place in area
Lovely fresh food staff who are genuinely accomplished conversationalists great coffee the food is priced at a point that reflects its quality slightly dearer than some of the other options available but not prohibitive and well worth it. i am keeping five stars for when santa hand bakes me a tuille and serves it to me on a salted snowflake. back in the real world four is as high as i go. top quality.
Nice spot and cosy place but service is particularly slow and inefficient. We’ve Been there few times, We had to wait ages for a coffee or a piece of cake whilst the place wasn’t even busy and there were 5/6 staff hanging around. Eventually you end up helping yourself but still paying that service charge..
