There is a uniqe project - a vedic village - Sri Sankarapuram is being developed by periavas blessings. The uniqueness is that 108 agnihotris will stay inside the village for their life, do agnihotram, veda samrakshanam and will not step out for their earnings. They will be provided with land and house, monthly groceries and dakshina every month, each of the agnihotri will teach veda to 2 to 4 brahmacharis.The village will have a periava temple with 108 feet raja gopuram, a tank, and a temple for chandramouleeshwara. The village also will have other facilities like gobar gas plant, solar lighting etc.The village is about 90 acres and located in kadiramangalam, 2km from vana durga temple and about 10 km from govindapuram, in mayavaram, kumbakonam belt.
