This is in sincere appreciation of Dr. Thomas Varghese, Neuro Surgeon of Shankars Hospital. Two Sundays ago my housemaid showed a scary neuro problem. I tried every hospital in Kollam to find a neuro doctor. All of them asked me to come to their Casuality. Finally i tried the last number i could find in the internet of a neuro clinic which said open. A voice told me that the clinic has been temporarily closed due to covid. However, on hearing my desperate plea, he told me to come to Shankars by 12.30 p.m. I asked if he was a neuro dictor to which he said yes, i was so relieved that i did not even ask his name. We reached the hospital by 12 noon. The reception told me that there were no doctors on Sundays. I showed them the number that i had spoken to, and tho they identified the caller as Dr. Thomas, said he had not called to open the OP. A little later, I was so surprised when i got a call from this number apologising for a slight delay in his coming to the hospital. He did not know my name either. Soon the OP opened, Dr. Thomas came soon after and saw us. A CT scan needed to be done. Being a Sunday, the Scanning Dept. was closed. However, he organised somebody from outside to do the scan during which he himself was present in the lab while the scanning was being done. I have no more words to express my gratitude to a doctor who gave his time and kindness to us, particularly on a day when he could have just said sorry. Thank you very much Doctor, for your commitment and dedication👏

One of the worst there is.Went there for the covid vaccination , worst experience ever.No social distancing , no shade or seating for the people waiting and a complete chaos by the management.Even though i booked the vaccination slot online they made us wait and went on with spot registration and provided them vaccination.A complete example of mismanagement ☮️

The very worst hospital in kollam town...please for god sake don’t go to this hospital....I experienced very bad service especially from insurance section and staff nurse... Doctors are good but they can’t do anything in this situation, they are helpless.. Informed them several times, shouted them several times...Not only me several patients are facing this problem...I’m astonishing why there is no action against all these ???No proper administrative officers and Management...

There is nothing like a management to govern. Dis organised!!! I think Mr Nadesan has ruined this then prestigious hospital in Kollam. No good doctors at the moment.

Shankars provides great care at a time when things where most stessfu for me. While the staff behaves politely, the management makes sure that things work for the patients and their companions smoothly. Definitely a place I would suggest for you healthcare needs.

General medicine, Surgery, ENT , Pediatrics, Gynaecology, Neurology, and other dept

Open wing didnt work properly. Too much time waited for medicine at thier pharmacy.

If you have any fear for life never go to this hospital.Its meant to be secretariat of a caste organization and luxury home stay for ultra rich.Poor people are tortured beyond proportions here.# The administration is worse and staffs behave ridiculously especially to poor.#They pump in all unwanted medicines and all unwanted diagnosis just to maximise extortion.#The staff behave really rude especially nurses even after charging huge bills.#There was a doctor in ENT called Manoj who use to operate anyone who goes to him, possible avoid that monster !

My wife experienced a Very poor care after gynaecological surgery at post operative I CU, Doctors are good but one staff nurse behave d very rudely and used harsh words when my wife scream due to pain

This is the worst hospital in kollam. Dont ever go near the Interventional Cardiologist Sreekala and her cronies. She is an agent for stent manufacturers.The management part is even worse.

Hospital for the lower economic strata .The institute is among the numerous educational and social establishments envisioned along the ideals set by Sree Narayana Guru.With a invaluable history of uplifting the poor and lower caste, its relevance has been on the decline over the past decade as many larger hospitals came up across Kollam providing better health care. With the shift in economic levels or living standards people in general are willing to pay more for facilities and not just the availability of good doctors.SIMS, the new block of Shankars hospital was built to address the needs for better infrastructure in comparison to the older block which barely had the space and ventilation to keep the outpatient section airy and clam.With a host of new initiatives and doctors, Shankars memorial hospital is on its way back to reclaim its lost title of go to hospitalThe new block and facilities certainly is worthy of stars and its illustrious history deserves 4 stars.I would have given it a 5, if its attempts to transform to a new age hospital showed any signs of bearing fruit during my last visits to the hospital

An as usual private hospital of Kerala but compare to other two major hospitals in Kollam this hospital is far far better and patient friendly.

1 day my mom went here a small back pain. One nursing student inject my mom .After one week,Our District hospital Dr.Neetha operates my mom to takes that sirinj....:-(...Another all good.;-)

This is an excellent multi-speciality hospital in Kollam district. The cardiology department under Dr Srikala P is amongst one of the best in Kerala.
