Overcrowded place but good market for middle class people, almost everything is available.
Siddheswari Kali Temple at Behala Tram depot has been in existence much before the Trams came here. Now while Goddess Kali flourishes the Trams are dead. Behala Tram Depot exists only in name. Trams stopped plying from here long time back. Old tram tracks lie buried under the asphalt road. Entrance and Exit to the depot are narrow roads filled to capacity by shoppers. The depot itself is a parking lot. Life is fast now, who bothers about the slow old fashioned trams!
It is quite a good neighbourhood.
A crowded place when you will get everything from various shops and stores, also a clean pay and use toilet is there if you need to use it.
Buses towards Sarsuna, Mahestala, Thakurpukur, Amtala, Diamond Harbour, Kakdwip, Namkhana and various parts of South 24 Parganas are available.
Good
I live here since birth and so is absolutely aware with the advantages and disadvantages of behala tram depot.Advantage : Awesome market for middle class people. A simple shoppers paradise.Disadvantage : Very congested place.Obviously if the place is buzzing with life it got to be congested. But thats okay for me. Overall its a four star from me.
Great place for cheap shopping
A place where you will find everything ranging from a hairpin to a refridgerator.
This place has many transport options.. It is very convenient to find a transport... Apart from Thursday the place is always bustling with commuters and shoppers..
Nice place
Previously trams used to run to Esplanade and Joka. Now its discontinued to facilitate metro. This area is always crowded because of number of shops
Market place. Usually crowded. U got so many shopping options here. Food stalls are alsogood here...
First of all please note that there is no trams here. It was closed loooong back in last decade when metro construction started 😛.Overall the place is pretty good, market is big with lots of options at cheaper rate. I feel it is as good as Gariahat except the Benarasi saree collection. Communication is also good, we get almost all route buses from here.
Just the right place for middle class people. Everything is available within arms reach.
This is not a tram depot now...It is a very crowded shopping area with all kinds of stores....good place for shopping..
I think, Behala is the only place in India, where Tram Depo have no Tram, Rail line (Jemes Long) have no Rail, Airport (Pannasree) have no Air Plane and Metro (Joka) have no Metro. Ekdam Jhakkash. Jay Behala.
Very conjested..exept thursday

Nice place for shopping, and casual outing, buzzing with life.
Good place for shopping... But very crowded area
