The restaurant is very neat and clean with all COVID protocols followed. Staffs are nice. It was almost vacant at 3PM when I visited. There are mirrors fitted inside the restaurant which created albeit puzzle for me to sort out the real one. Anyhow, you will not get tea, coffee over here. Hot drinks are nowhere. However, there are other foods like 🍣 which you will not get elsewhere easily. It is situated at 11th floor of the building.

It was a wonderful experience!I explore places solo. So I took a seat for one. But I would love to mention that the group dining areas are just amazing in ambience.Since I was alone, I ordered the Bento non-veg combo. Non-veg comes as two combos- one based on chicken @699/- and the other based on prawn @799/- I went for the chicken one, since I havent tried Asian cuisine much and I had no idea how a prawn based asian meal would taste. Please check the menu provided, to know the combo or other items in detail.Ambience is amazing. Staff behaviour is very polite. They are more than ready to help you. Just no complaints.First, I got a piece of water melon as refreshment food. Then, chicken soup, followed by the bento non-veg meal. The foods tasted fresh, nicely made with a perfect blend of flavours. I had tried asian cuisine in Ajisai before. This one today felt quite different and nice. Portion is normal, or a little less. One notable thing is that, even though its fine dining and prices are on the higher side, its pretty affordable. If you are willing to spend, visit here once. Asian dining is not very widely available, so its bit pricey but even though the dish here was absolutely amazing and I cannot point out any shortcomings, I do genuinely feel that the bento non-veg combo is probably worth within 500/-, and 699/- is a bit high price. There are washrooms. Alcohol is available. Other drinks are available too. There is a balcony. One can see the 1st and 2nd bridge from there.Staff behaviour is very appreciable. I asked if I could take home my unused chopstick and the guy happily gave me 3 more chopsticks. It made my day ❤Addition: visited the place for the 2nd time with my friends, and had salmon cheese sushi, Braised lamb jiaozi, cha sui pork bao.Salmon cheese sushi tasted amazing. However, I felt its overpriced to have 4 sushi at Rs 575. Cha sui pork bao was normal. Nraised lamb jiaozi felt like a money waste because it tasted very similar to momos from wow momo etc. I really donot recommend 4 pieces of joaozi at that price.I have felt the bento meal to be a much affordable choice.

This is the first time I tried Sushi and it was at PaPaYa. The ambience was amazing, being on the 11th floor you get more or less the whole view of park Street from there. In the entrance, on the left is the name of the place and on the right is this huge wine cellar housing some of the most expensive wines I know of. First they serve you a complimentary apitiezer, on a stone bowl there is some dry ice and then on top is a bamboo separation on top of which is a contraption in a good way of a cube of watermelon covered with some edible bubble array and it looks really cool but finally its a watermelon cube... We ordered two Sushi dishes, Salmon cream cheese sushi and spicy prawn tempura sushi and yes the salmon was raw but it was wonderful in taste. Being a Bengali and eating raw fish hits you at first but no doubt salmon is a sweet experience. It was served with a green whipped like sauce which is Wasabi sauce and warning to all to not eat it in large amounts. I did the mistake and felt the raging blinding senses feel in the head and it hit twice at once. The prawn was fried and rolled and garnished with what I know is the most expensive black caviar. The taste was okay not one to boast about. But it is an experience to enjoy, also we ordered chicken ramen which was not great in taste and did not live up to expectations. Overall the place is great but too expensive and given its fine dining the portions are okay. They serve 4 pieces each in the sushi plates for like ₹500 each. Finally they try to add a 10% service charge on your bill which you may or may not give and get it removed from the original bill.

A modern take on Asian cuisineThere was a plethora of dishes to choose from. My kids enjoyed eating the avocado sushi (a decent amount of avocado). The cured salmon and tuna were presented nicely and tasted good. Cheung fun was crunchy on the inside but should be soft on the outside. It wasn’t the case. The bao was more of novelty but average tasting. Overall, the atmosphere was nice and the food was decent.

A very pretty place with an aesthetic sense of decor. The mocktails they served tasted exquisite and the plate of dumplings for starters were lip smacking. The restaurant specializes in Asian cuisine. They have sofas and high chairs for seating and a separate bar counter too. They have a open balcony for smokers. Sushi and dim sums are superb so is their dessert. Bit expensive, this place suits those persons who have a different taste and are interested to try out something unique.

Fine dining and beautiful view. We went to have some Sushi and were not disappointed. The Sushi Boat had Maki rolls, Nigiris and Sashimi. Overall 24 pieces. Each of them were done perfectly and were absolutely a pleasure to eat.As a suggestion, PaPaYa could definitely look into including at least 4 types of Maki rolls, including a tempura one. Itll always be a better experience that having 8 pieces each of 2 varieties of maki.Rest the experience was very good.

Although it can be said they are little more than average priced but they totally justify it by good food and quantity. The view from the place is splendid at it is located on one of the top floors. Just look around and you will see Howrah, Hooghly and Eden Gardens. We ordered for Salmon Cream Cheese Sushi, Braise Lamb Pan Seared Dumplings(Jiaozi), Wok Fried Sichuan Chicken, Fragrant Crispy Chilli Fried Rice, Corn and Spinach Fried Rice and ended with it Chocolate Ball on Fire. Their palate cleansers in between meals were perfect so that you could enjoy your next dish properly.

Great place for exotic dimsums sushi and other Asian cuisine.Posting a pic of the menu card. So one can see the rates. They have a fixed buffet kind of deal for lunch only on weekdays, that they call bento. You can find details on the menu snap. The location is a bit of a hassle since location shown on Google is not correct. I overheard a lot of people calling the reception to ask for directions. Ive taken snaps of the entry, and the approach to Magma house, the multistoried building on whose 11th floor, the restaurant is located. To enter, one has to turn into the gate labelled celica park, on park street which is approx opposite to the post office. Theres a board of Pa pa ya and moti mahal delux next to the gate. Its easy to miss while driving since the boards are hidden from view, and Google does not alert you, so be sure to go slow and research the area well before driving there. After entering the gate, drive straight for around 30 metres and enter the Magma house complex. Here turn left and drive round the building to the rear where they have the parking and the entrance lift. These roads do not exist on Google maps. Moreover Park street becomes one way in the opposite directions before and after one pm. Which adds to the confusion if you rely on Google maps😄. So if youre driving and going for lunch, take care.

Usually I do not leave any reviews, but the experience I had yesterday has forced me to do the same. Upon arrival, I was told that there isnt any valet parking and when I tried parking my car in the parking provided by the restaurant I was told that my car is too big to be parked in the parking systems. I then requested them to accommodate me elsewhere. However, to my surprise the manager (who seemed to be educated) regretted the same and asked me to find parking on the street outside (Park Street) or go elsewhere to dine. Not only was he unwelcoming, he was ill spoken, loud and rude. The environment that was created left us with no choice but to leave there and find some other place to have dinner. I am sure never to go back here. However, I hope the management acts upon this and hope it isnt unpleasant for the others. It was probably one of the most unpleasant experiences I have had.

If you are looking for Modern Asian concept food in Kolkata, well... this is the place. Pa Pa Ya - A head-turner of a bistro for Asian cuisine and another masterpiece from Zorawar Kalra. Situated on the 11th floor of the Magna House in Park Street this restaurant has an insane birds-eye view of the Park street and adjacent esplanade area and Kolkata-Howrah skyline.Place has a nice minimalist decoration with a classy and sophisticated ambiance with a cozy feeling about it - definitely a nice place to be with your family, loved ones or office colleagues. Seating arrangements are quite spacious and comfortable. A well-organized bar is at the center of the entire floor with enthusiastic peoples greeting and welcoming the guests. All the attendants are highly courteous, professional yet very friendly and ready to help.Coming to the main story - FOOD. The food here is hands down out-worldly and fantastic. Not only the taste or the food preparation, the way the dishes are served deserves a great applause. Every dish was presented in a unique, eye-catchy and artistic manner. We started our lunch with a palate cleanser (a neutral flavored food or drink that removes previous food residue/taste from tongue allowing to more accurately taste/experience a new flavour). This was repeated before main course also and I must say is a very unique way to be prepared for the next course of menu. There were 2 of us and from the menu we ordered the following -1. Hotate - It is a sushi, to be more specific Nigiri with salmon as the Neta, servers with a dollop of washabi, gari and soy sauce.(Sushi is an widely popular Japanese preparation made of white rice, typically seasoned with vinegar, sugar and salt. Nigiri is a type of sushi classified based on method of its making. Nigiri means to squeeze, to grab in Japanese, referring to the movement a Chef makes to form Neta and Shari together. Neta is basically the toppings on the Sushi Rice and it can be fish, egg, vegetables or meats, however fish is being most widely used.) Food was of fantastic taste, yummy and even before we realized we have already finished everything on the plate. 4 pcs/plate and 8 pcs/plate can be ordered.2. Crab and Scallop Ravioli - You must be thinking what a ravioli is doing in Asian bistro? Ravioli, even though name suggests Italian was fantastically fused and given an Asian taste makeover in this dish. Served with soya foam, it was light, yummy and you can feel the taste and the texture of the crab meat and scallop filling inside the ravioli.(Ravioli is a dumpling made of pasta dough, usually square in shape, filled with minced meat, fish, cheese or veggies and is a popular menu of the Italian cuisine).3. Khao Pad Kar Pao - This is the typical Thai fried rice with basil we order as part of main course. Three options are available and we opted for the seafood, where prawns and squid are the accompaniment of this fried rice. The dish was really tasty with the feel of burnt garlic added an extra notch.4. Braised Lamb Chops - Nothing much to say about this dish as the name itself says it all. Softest lamb chops I ate in a while. A caramelized texture added an extra layer on the taste. The presentation of the dish deserves a special mention.5. Chocolate Ball on fire - The show stopper is this signature dessert- The Chocolate Ball on Fire and its literally on fire! The flambé is done with Cointreau poured on a huge ball of smooth glazing chocolate. As the chocolate melts away, you find the dry fruits and nuts, chocolate crumbs, chocolate brownie, vanilla ice cream and caramel hidden inside the ball. Heavenly!!!!! Must try!! (Its quite sumptuous even for 2)A little costly but worth every penny. Waiting eagerly for my next visit and already prpearing my checklist.. 😋😋😋

Atmosphere-wise is an excellent choise of restaurant, all the decoration are very modern oriental. However, flavor of food are just fine, the spare ribs are so salty that you can not eat alone. The fried rice is not even close to the local market quick-bite restaurant.

Food is good though it is frightfully expensive... I think a way to keep out the crowd and keep making good bucks !!

Spectacular view of both the bridges, Howrah and Vidyasagar Setu. Coming back to hospitality, very professional staff and helpful. The food is awesome and I liked all the stuff that was served. Must try Nasi Goreng

PaPaYa is one of the most beautiful places I have visited recently. Located in the prime spot of the city i.e Park Street in Magama House, the view of the city is breath taking. Now when it comes to food it does score big with its varied items under Asian Cuisine. From Sushi to Noodles it has everything. Though the price is higher but its worth it with the quality of food as well as the ambience it provides. I had tasted a few items and all of them were good but the best part is they serve a thing in between two courses which refreshes your mouth and helps in tasting the next course better. A must visit place for all!
