It was a very pleasant stay at this hotel.The staffs and the reception people were super helpful.as a solo traveler I would totally recommend this place. the environment was very safe. no uncomfortable feelings at all.

Pocket friendly hotel with best in class services

I stayed here for 2 weeks on official visit.Rooms are clean and room service is good.Food is great but quantity is less for the cost.Hotel room items still requires maintenance, they need to work on it.Live Singing on Wednesdays are amazing, a must visit.Early breakfast is not available in case you have an early flight.

Its a decent place to crash in. Neat and clean. The staff is friendly and happy to help whenever required. A solid thumps up!

Worst Experience ever.• In term of service•Their Housekeeping staff enter my Room in my absence with their master key & cleaned my room without my permission. Its breach of Privacy & trust. As my all stuff was in room.When I complained this in reception they argued with me first. Later they apologize for their habit.

I stayed in this hotel which on a work trip to Kolkata. The food and drinks this place serves are really good. The menu has a vast variety of things to offer and the taste is good. The restaurant had a special Christian drinks menu which looked really interesting. The ambiance is nice and laid back. There are screens where they show the latest matches. Good place to unwind.

I am a little surprised to see negative reviews for this hotel , yes the rooms are a little dated but they were clean and functional and the beds in both rooms I stayed in for a total of 7 nights were very comfortable . The service was super , I did not need to call more than once for anything . The decor is tasteful , very impressed with the photo frames in rooms that depict life in Kolkata . The location is just next to the vibrant Gariahat market , 6 kms away from park Street and there are some really nice eating places located near the hotel . I also ordered via food delivery apps a few nights , the hotel did not have an issue with that . Parking space is restricted though . I am sure the management will renovate rooms in the coming time , I think the hotel is a great choice for this part of Kolkata and cost effective too

Pros:It was pleasing stay at hotel Metropole. It was easy to located. Hassel free check in/out. Rooms were nice and comfortable. Food is available at very reasonable price in its restaurant/bar. They also provide room service. Cons:Bathrooms are tiny.Only one power plug point in working condition.Recommended for solo travelers!!Comfortable air conditioned rooms at hotels located close to main Street and roads. Affordability is also important. Nothing too fancy. Early/late check-in/out facility adds cherry to the top.

The hotel is at a prime location but misses the mark in terms of its actual location. This is right next to monalisa and cafe bistro. Good hotel, didnt try the food so cant comment. But good stay.

One of the worst service I have experienced. Extremely poor hospitality by the waiters and other staff.1. The bathroom door lock was broken. When asked for room change they refused. They instead tried to fix the lock at 11pm instead of Changing the room.2. Hot water was not served during breakfast3. Although food was tasty, it was always delayed.4. Rooms not very clean5. Geyser water is too less. The hot water flow is interrupted every 5 mins.6. No footwear

We traveled just before the election results, and needed a safe neighborhood and it was just perfect. Safe and residential neighborhood, Staff at the reception were very helpful 👍and accommodating, food was awesome and rooms were value for money surely. Recommending this hotel and wish to visit Kolkata again and stay @ Metropole which is really close to Kalighat Temple.

HYGIENE WAS AN ISSUE SPECIALLY AFTER PANDEMIC NO MAJOR MEASURES TAKEN. WHICH IS REALLY SAD.

It is a small 03 star boutique hotel at Garirhat. The rooms are good, neat and clean but the entrance, loby, resturent facilities look short of requirement

Bad experience staying at this property. We booked three rooms, The Air conditioners werent working and they provided us stand fan. The bathroom taps were not working. Average food taste and there restaurants staffs are not well behaved.Casual attitude towards customer support, we have to call 4-5 times just to get a single water bottle.While checkout, these people also got us delayed.

Location is best in Kolkata. I stayed with family in 2 standard rooms. Rooms are small but decent.Maintenance seems due for a while. Had one issue with lock of the room. Had to wait ~10 minutes to get that fixed. Walls seem to have been painted long ago.Staffs are cooperative but not properly trained.

Excellent choice for me, rooms, location, cleanliness was excellent. Was happy to have got a large (deluxe) size room. I would strongly recommend seeing size of room and wi fi signal strength in the room before checking in, both these things vary a lot. Pricing was fine. Small n sweet hotel.

I stayed in Room 201 and the room is cozy, eventhough its right on the main road its still not noisy. The room has all the modern amenities. The breakfast is wide spread and tasty. The staff is cooperative and helpful.

As hotels food items are very costly we have to take it from outside. Also room service is not provided.Except this every other facilities are good. Good security as I traveled with my daughter alone. Neat and clean.24 hrs AC available.

No south indian options such as idly dosa. V costly room service items. Best to stay here n order meals through swiggy or try Maharaja that is just opposite.

Very badly managed hotel.They are very finicky about advance payment.Even if company is paying for entire group booking they stop a guest from checking out and ask them to clear their bill.Noise of pressure pump specially on 4th floor is noisy and annoying.Manager is barely available in the hotel.If they switch off the pressure pump they forget to put it on and there wont be water in the washroom.If you are coming here for holiday or business this is definitely not the right place to stay.STRICTLY NOR RECOMMEND

Metropole hotel is a well placed hotel with prompt service, good food, albeit a bit expensive and moderately equipped rooms. The bedding is quite comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and smell good. It is a good hotel for business travellers and families alike.

The Deluxe room that we booked was good.Quick check in.Good reception staff.The room was clean.Air conditioner was working fine.24 hrs warm water also available.Clean washroom and towels also.The complimentary buffet breakfast was good. They have multiple options. Bread omlettee was available, two varieties of fruits, one juice and three more dishes to eat. Cornflakes, bread, butter and jam also available. Tea and Coffee also available. So breakfast was pretty good.The staff is polite and very helpful.All in all a good experience and we would certainly stay here on the next trip also.Note:- Always check the menu before ordering anything in the room. This is applicable for all hotels.

This hotel has pathetic traditional interiors and the coffee shop reflects a economy local restaurant appearance. The service quality is not up to mark as reported by many guests. This hotel has a nice location though. It must join hands with a good budget brand (not the types of OYO) and boost its image and reputation by adopting standard operating practices.

I am sure they provide better service but my room was stinky damp and not pleasant. Since my stay wasnt for long I didnt complain about it to anyone. Breakfast was awful , the cutlery wasnt clean . But the hotel is located near many eateries. The local eateries right opposite to the property serves far better tasting food. You have to compromise on sanitation bit even there.

Worse kind of behaviour by the hotel staff.Today for 3 parcels they charged us ₹600.That too without a bill.The men are of extremely rude behaviour.As soon as our party was over,they literally forced us out.It was only 9:45 pm then.That was how they vented their anger when we asked for a proper bill for the parcel.Very unprofessional people.They were behaving as if by attending us,they were doing us some great favour.

I would say the room doesnt deserve any special mention. Buy surprisingly their restaurant provides wonderful food and very good service, with charged very reasonably!

Their customer dealing is pathetic.We booked 2 rooms 3 months prior to check-in date. They called us in morning stating there is electrical problem in rooms which we have booked and they are shifting us to new hotel. When we enquired about it,they stated we give preference to people who come in larger groups and they book 1 year prior to the check-in date. I would definitely not recommend this hotel especially of you are booking 3 months prior.

Nondescript hotel, good for those who do not plan to stay long. Their tariffs are too pricey for their amenities, which are not too impressive (there is no hot water, the bed is too big for the room, and the airconditioning is unpredictable--during my stay there, the AC for the entire floor got busted and the one in the new room I was relocated to, was dripping). The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the hotels proximity to several dining facilities along Sarat Bose Road are the saving grace.
