The Restaurant is an old and well known one in Kolkata. They serve North Indian and Chinese food along with Coktails, Moktails and Alcohol. Their speciality dish is Dry Channa Masala which tastes very good. The prices are not too high and is value for money. The ambience is also good for Family and Friends.
Highly overrated place. Mediocre food at best. Worst of all are the servers who pretend not to see or hear you. Running on just nostalgia. Trincas just next door has a fantastic staff and better food
Was here for lunch a few days back, I did hear a lot about this place but never really got a chance to visit but finally I did and this place is definitely going to be my go to place now. This legendary restaurant is located at Park Street and mainly caters to North Indian, Continental and Chinese Cuisines. The Kebabs like the Reshmi Kebabs and Fish Tikka is a must try, so well prepared and succulent! For the mains, Kulcha with Mutton Rogan Josh, Saag Chicken and Paneer Butter Masala was just perfect. The mutton was cooked to perfection and so was the Chicken, Ive never had such a delicious preparation of Saag Chicken to be honest! Also the Pindi Chana is one of a kind paired with Bhatura. They have also come up with this wholesome platter: Punjab ka Mehak Platter which is humungous serving winter delicacies like Sarson ka Saag, Makki ki Roti, Kali Daal, Laccha Paratha and a Mutton Curry for the Non Veg version and Mixed Vegetables for the Veg Version along with a delicious Gajar Ka Halwa. This platter will be available throughout the winter months.Loved the food and service, the prices are affordable keeping in mind the quantity & quality. Will be coming back here real soon.
Quality of Kwality was an utter disappointment. Food served late I can understand but bad food served late is a disappointment. The chicken a la Kiev was promised 1 hour late, we said ok, only to be told after 10 mins that its not available.Veg au gratin took 40 mins and it was all maida no cheese in the white sauce.Really? What happened to you guys?
I heard about this place from many people but never really made it to this place until today. The place has a classic vibe like coffee house college street. The waiters here are all elderly people and mostly retired person it seems which I think is a sweet way to show care. Now coming to the taste part, We tried sizzlers and it was average. We also happened to order biriyani and it tasted normal not exceptional. I didnt know anything special dishes of them so maybe a little disappointed from that point. Otherwise I have a fair experience with them. Pay with dineout and get 10%+5% extra discount.
.Kwality Restaurant KolkataMr.Pishori Lal Lamba and Mr.Iqbal Ghai, two young friends from Lahore, opened a shop named Kwality at Connaught Place Delhi in 1940 to sell hand-made ice-cream.In 1952 the brand opened Kwality on Park Street in Kolkata and followed it up with another branch in 1956 at Gariahat (Ballygunj Phari). The Kolkata operations were started by Mr Prem Nath Ghai and then Mr Baldev Ghai joined the business in 1958.Kwality Restaurant Kolkata is currently headed by the third generation of the Ghai family Mr Rajiv Ghai.Kwality Kolkata like the Delhi flagship started as a tea room serving Sandwiches, Coffee and Ice Cream before it became a full fledged Restaurant in 1955. They serve up North Indian, Tandoori, Continental & Chinese Cuisine. The Pindi chana, whose recipe P.L.Lamba had picked up from a street vendor in Mussoorie, still owes its rich dark hue to the tea leaves, which are added to the secret whole spices that are added to the chana when it is pressure cooked after being soaked in water overnight. The bhatura served with it has to puff up and remain that way till consumed by the guest. If the bhatura doesnβt puff up it is not bought to the table. Some of their Signature Dishes :Pindi ChannaDal MakhaniPaneer Butter MasalaChicken Reshmi KebabFish Masala KebabChicken BhartaChicken Reshmi Butter MasalaTutti FruttiKwality Kolkata has recently introduced for the very first time the Chelo Biryani in three varieties Maharaja, Mutton & Chicken, with the Maharaja Chelo Biryani being the show stopper featuring Mutton Chicken & Fish Kebabs.I tried a few starters as well! The Murgh Purani Dilli is delectable melt in the mouth chicken marinated in secret spices, cream and clarified butter cooked to perfection. The Tandoori Prawns are bomb and so is the Masala Fish which is 2 thick fillets of bhetki marinated in Indian spices and cooked in the tandoor. One of their star preparation is the Paneer Malai Kebab. Being I non vegetarian, I urge you to try this dish because the paneer is so soft that is just melts in your mouth. Its cooked with cream and cheese. The hospitality has always been made a priority and hence taken care of. The pricing is reasonable compared to the quality and quantity of food being served. The dishes are scrumptious and delectable. They serve liquor too! Do visit to try out their new additions as well as their classic dishes.Keep following the theetenrovers.com for more updates.
Bad smell inside hotel, less quantity of food, taste is oaky.costly as per price
Kwality remains one of those classy places where the steward knows you and your family and at times even your tastes. This is a world that we are loosing fast to upstarts that have t-shirt wearing waiters who can rattle off the menu from start to finish...with an accent to boot. There is Kwality and a few others in park Street which not just retain the old world charm but also demonstrate how class is different from affluence
Neat and clean with quality tasty foods.
Best place to hangout, chill with friends. Staff, food and qlty of drinks all are as good as they were 30 years back. Always like to come to this place.
One of the oldest restaurant in park Street. good food good ambiance. a little pricy for its standards but I guess its the park Street premium that you pay here.
Carries old charm and hospitality . But the interior needs better upkeep. Veg food served was really tasty
Good service and quality. The waiters are very cooperative
Good and quality food. Tariff little higher. I pkg normal brand drinking water cost Rs. 73.
Old lovely eating place with same old time courtesies. A great place to eat at
Food was not available and not of good qualityThey dont even know how to serve food properly
No more the quality (kwality ) u wish for .. this restaurant doesnt deserve to be on park street of kolkata anymore . Food was very bad (ordered veg). Only thing this legacy continues is service , it was excellent as always .
Food used to be better in pre-covid era
Kwality was my favourite since i visited this place for first time with my parents. After a long time i visited kwality with my school friends. The decoration has changed but quality is awesome. Had a nice, relaxed afternoon
The ambience is great. The starters came on time. The chicken tandoori was nice and the fish fingets were great too. Definitely try the russian salad. The mutton in the rogan josh was a little tight when iit should have been tender. Overall nice experience.
Service is very slow but food is tasty and yummy
Very good should try non veg
Kwality is a eating place nested inside the heart of Kolkata and the restaurant quarter of Park avenue. Kwality has constantly been a favourite of our own family. they have got a mix of both Indian and continental delicacies. Their fried fish with tartar sauce is a pride. it is unhappy that the quantity of human beings visiting these historical past eating places are dwindling.
Food is not good, very very old staff. Should be ok for business meet, but not a family lunch/dinner event.
Good and tasty food followed by nice ambience.
Food was great but the service was bad had to wait 45 mins for food to arrive due to staff shortage and mismanaged
Takes me back to 80 tastes the same
Ambience is very bad and food quality is below averageService is also very poor. Not upto heritage quality
Food and ambience were good but the staffs should understand that customers go there to enjoy their privacy. They should not stand in front and stare. They were more interested in taking the plates back and gossip about the customers. That is uncomfortable. Not professional behaviour at all.
One of Kolkatas oldest dine in place. They have served both indian and continental dishes. Staffs are very well behaved. Good place to go with family or friends. Pocket friendly also. Ambience is good and quite spacious. You can try grilled fish or chicken- a-la-Kiev , i found both of these very tasty. Nearest metro station is Park Street. 5 minutes walking from metro station.
All time favourite place
Really pathetic service and rude manager. The Manager was the most pathetic person I ever came across and even though I requested him to give a table for 5 where we could sit comfortably, he gave me a table for 4 wherethe 5 of us had to sit uncomfortably even though when I mentioned the manager that I was with my Grandma and she was quite old so please help me give her a comfertable seating, this happened when other tables of 5 seater were empty and not even reserved. Its a shame to see such an old restaurant keep such people as mangers at your hotel. People judge you by your looks and the next time I visited all dressed up, they were ready to offer me any table I need. Shame on the people with such mindsets. I feel pathetic to have visited a place like this.
The ambience is silent and they need to do a bit changing to their tables. The crockery just slips on the table and it is too small for 4 ppl to sit. Even the sofas slip. Food was good and service was amazing
Taste of food : so so, ok type, not extraordinary, not bad.Greetings : very poor.Price: too heavy comparative to service quantity and taste.Service : ok type not extraordinary.Manager is v.old guy , govt. Organisation type all like pensioners, v.poor in talking the oldy people, as such they kind ourselves by serving food as such we are poor beggars. But the some youth person is there , v.co operative.Payment process is v.hectic, there Paytm is working but if message not come to their mobile they will keep waiting you, how funny and circuse is going there.I earnestly request the owner to give pension to the pensioners and kindly properly trained your staffs first then kindly do the hospitality business, v.poor oldy ruthless people is there.Kindly do needful. I am v.surprised one of the best restaurant of KOLKATA once upon a time running today in this manner.Kindly take proper steps and care in this regard. Not at all recommendable for family dining.
We were happy with what we ordered
Felt so nostalgic. Their food still tasted the same as in the 60s. Its still the best. The place reeks of Park Street of yore when it was the place to be in!
Food was as good as it gets. Here again the guards against covid was down a bit. No use of gloves by waiters and sometimes the mask was down
Anyone who has not had pindi chana here has not lived!
Good food, great ambience.
Excellent. Whilst the decor continues to be plain but neat, the food remains excellent. The Chicken sizzler still sizzles. The Chicken Tetrazzini was outstanding and the Fried Fish with tartar sauce was to die for (for all the fish fry aficionados of Kolkata - please taste this - the original, authentic, Fish Fry). The Tutti Frutti remains the Kwality classic to end a meal with. Kudos to them for having maintained their standards for so long.
Kwality is a restaurant nested in the heart of Kolkata and the restaurant zone of Park Street. Kwality has always been a favorite of our family. They have a blend of both Indian and continental cuisine. Their fried fish with tartar sauce is a delight. It is sad that the number of people visiting these heritage restaurants are dwindling.
It was lovely place for dinning. You can go with your family.
I always love to take food in Kwality whether in Park Street or in Ballygunj. A great variety of quality food. Fish fries are excellent.
Good Ambience with quality of food.
Iconic restaurant on Park Street, which is very popular for its North Indian and Punjabi food, both veg and non veg.The Chole Bhature here is simply awesome. Its a humongous Puri served with black pindi chana. The pindi chana is soft and flavourful packing a punch to your taste buds. Must have. The ambience is old world, they havent changed much, in fact the tables are so close to each other that you can hear the conversation of your neighbors. It becomes very noisy. But the food is good.
Ambience was great, the food was also great. The staff was very cooperative and everyone wore mask. Will recommend everyone. Cocktail options were also good.
This spread in Karims is delicious! One of the best mughlai food I have tasted around the city.
Delicious food and amazing dining experience. Must must must try.
Good food and old school service style .... always a treat to visit .
It one of the best restaurant at Park Street, Kolkata. Best taste and fresh foods are available here along with liquor. People floks here for north Indian foods. After visiting you wont like any other restaurant for best quality foods at Park Street.
If you loves north Indian foods then u must visit food is awesome
Food was ok ,the place is just running for its legacy and location. Better options are available in the same area
The place is okay. The ambience though seems good. The food ordered were really good except one: the dahi kabab. The one they serve isnt a dahi kebab for sure. But still a one time visit place.
Hopeless experience in all respect. Kwality has definitely lost its glory with all round deterioration.
Aweful.. No one greeted, too suffocating, unprofessional staff, no variety in starters.,orderd for alakeive but the waiter denied... Will never visit again...
The food is damn good!β¨βοΈ But I suggest you not to have ice cream here its not up to the mark, its better if you try somewhere else!
Good attentive staff.. old school π« 67 year old restaurant.. iconic place
One of my favourite restaurant. I enjoy the old charm of this place along with the mouth watering foods.
Ordered Sunday icecream and they gave vanilla with cherry topping. Improper food, looks expensive as per quality of food
Kwality have quality. The super fantastic, best food qualities in kolkata. I recommend 5 star
Best pindi chana in town
Very Good.
Charging wine more than double is a big no for further visit.
Nice place. But menu is limited compared to the restaurants around.
Food quality too good but service not upto the mark
A very old and historical restaurant with branches in all major cities of India, must try dishes here are tandoor items and thier chole. Good north indian food, some continental dishes are ok, would recommend it for mainly north Indian food vegan or non vegan.
This restaurant is so much wow! Its a multicuisine restaurant with a decorative sitting arrangements. The staffs are really polite and maintaining all the safety protocols of covid situation. They have two storeyed sitting arrangements. I felt the upper floor was more decorative. Coming to the food, each of the dishes were so delicious. We sticked to mainly Indian as well as ordered mutton chelo Biryani. The dishes are not that spicy but the flavour of different herbs melts in the mouth. Here charges are like 800 INR per person including taxes, if one eats full from starter to dessert.
Its always a pleasure having dinner at Kwality.. lovely food.. and ambience ...
Amazing food!
Nice ambiance π
Food and services are very good, but ambiance is not good
Ummmm. The Chelo Kabab Biryani was just out of the world. A list visit for your gastronomical satisfaction. Thanks to Kwality Team for maintaining authenticity !!
Food and service was both slow and tasteless. Sizzler was dry and not upto my expectations. Bread/Noodles were missing from the plate of the sizzler. Rest of the food was very very okay. Not a place worthy to celebrate a birthday/anniversary. Had taken my parents here thinking about the reputation this restaurant had, but not at all worth it.
Excellent food. Will surely recommend to enjoy the delicious food with your friends and family
Food quality of Kwality is good... Staff behaviour is also very polite .. Overall a good experience..
One of the worst biryanis Ive ever had. Their chicken chonchu biryani (cant remember the name) was just biryani rice, potatoes with dry chicken seekh kebab.(theres a photo posted by someone)Overpriced for the taste and quality and some of the servers were coughing without masks.
Very good Shop. All r very courteous
Was shocked to find the degradation of taste . The taste of bharta and reshmi butter masala was awfully bad.
Poor services....but good taste of food
Good option for North Indian food. They are currently observing social distancing and everyone has to sanitize their hands before entering
