As usual like other railway station in eastern region.

A nice middle class peaceful locality. With well connected by bus and train. All major city centre and just at stone throwing distances from here. Also this area boats for its famous and grand shopping complex Center Dakhinapan.

Its a busy station consisting of two platforms,one for the up line and the other one for the down line.All major south eastern train routes barring the Budge Budge-Majherhat one passes through this station.The 1st train arrives everyday at 3:50 A.M. and the last one to depart from this station is at 11:55 P.M.Previously,it was ill maintained but for the last 2-3 years due efforts have been given on the part of South Eastern Railways to keep this station well maintained and clean.

There is covered area for seating.

The hight of shade of platforn no 2 is very low

Student of jadavpur can go there hostel or others destination near jadavpur
