The staff guy doesnt think of you as a guest but his auntys son who somehow bumped into his private space, and thats RIDICULOUS! This guy is from Patna (Bihar) and gets really personal over silly things. Asked me to wash my plate while the maid was already cleaning! Now if the maid is cleaning why should i even interfere with her job there? But this guy was hell-bent over making me do the job cause perhaps he didnt like me singing in the night to all the guests who had a great time because of me. This thankless dude, instead of being grateful to me, was taking personal revenge for not being able to sleep. The whole hotel used the plates for eating (some even used glasses for drinking) and few were smoking up too. But this guy pointed out only me and that too when the maid was already at work. This is crazy! If youre booking this place, youll have to be careful of these kinds of unprofessional behaviours of these morons. Overall had a good time but have to rate the property-poor because of this bitter encounter! Sometimes all you need to screw your trip is one stupid servant dictating you!

Just checked out. The place is clean, compact and comfortable. The owner and everyone involved were very friendly, polite and fun. We had a great time in the common room chatting over beer with other visitors and the owner. Dont let the entrance fool you, kind of looks shady. Would recommend it. :)

This is really a decent place to stay. This place offers continental breakfast and even you can cook your food here, they keep everything besides youve to carry raw materials, a refrigerator having cold water , they also provide filter water, Wi-Fi, Magazines and newspapers, Televisión, they have a common terrace where you can socialize and have a good time with your company plus youll meet here many people across the world. Staffs are really cordial and cooperative, they have bed system with AC in every room ranging from Rs650- 1500. I had a good time here, meeting new people. Check-in timing is 14:00 - 14:30 and check-out timing is 11:00 - 11:30.

The vibe of this place (backpackers) is awesome. Must stay if you are visiting Kolkata. This is at famous park street near moulin rouge. The place was neat and clean. Maintaining all hygiene and staff behavior was amazing. They have kitchen also you can prepare food by your own. The bathrooms and beds are totally clean. And you can play, dance, read, eat & enjoy with your friends if you wanna spend weekend getaway near park street. Backpackers is must recomend place to stay. I am in love with the environment.

The dorm rooms are very congested. I think 650 price is little overpriced. They dont support even for an extra additional hour. The entrance to this dorm at G floor will be horrible. Lift will take 2 mins to take u to the 2nd floor. Needs some more improvement. Can add some games for leisure activities. Can be little more supportive.

The only hostel in the Park Street Locality and probably he only one in Kolkata - this hostel is extremely pocket-friendly compared to the other hotels nearby - so if youre a student or backpacker - GO FOR IT!However, this is not like the other hostels Ive visited...due to the tight space - none of the rooms have windows, basically its all compressed, not enough room...It might feel conjusted if youre accustomed to live in open space, in nature and they definitely need to improve the service quality.Otherwise, the people are amazing, great friendships happen and you can get almost anything nearby, till late night - and yes - its a Party Den!

Clean and cozy.When youre at the street Location and you dont find the entrance: trust yourself and go through the gate and follow the signs from there. The narrow path looks wrong, but youre on the right track.The bunk beds are clean, the temperature of AC accurate (not too cold).I liked the balcony, where you can meet others for a nice chat or beer.Depending where you wanna go its close. Or far. For me it was right.Next Time Kolkata? Thats the place.

Such a great place to stay. I was there for a night and I really amazed by the ambience, friendly atmosphere and a well equipped kitchen. I was in a dormetory which was fully air-conditioned. One can access their chill-out and common areas to spend time. Wi-Fi speed was good. All together it was a great experience.

Stayed for a night. Bedding stuff was good. But its like hell conjusted where you will have zero ventilation. Its like dark place. If you just want the bed and nothing else you may visit. But if you need space and light this is not the place where you can find. You will have the common balcony where you will have ventilation but no ventilation inside the hostel. Coming to the entrance part, you will literally have to walk through the garbage. 2 stars given is just for the bed I used and nothing else.

I visited this place for the sake of exploring and not staying. It seemed a nice location to stay in budget. Though you should not expect much space,but if you are a traveler and give lesser damn about the type of accommodation,then this is a gem location for staying in the best area and lodging decently enough!

I think they have a no of permanent guest from the locals. The sleeping arrangement was so tiny. In one bunk bed has three level. Inside of the toilet the garbage bin and the tissue holder was too close and Most of the time you may unintentionally touch the garbadge bin. I felt the administration of Backpackers park is racist because when I arrived there, they asked me to pay in advance because of I am from some south asian country. On the other hand for a south Korean Dont need to pay in advance. Their breakfast arrangement is good enough. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

What is better than being right at the centre of Park Street in Kolkata...Amazing location and the hostel though a bit congested is clean and built well. The common area which is a balcony overlooking Park Street is the perfect area to meet and converse.The rooms are small and feel like army ship decks but the location more than makes up for it.The built up and the walk to the hostel is through a kitchen backyard which may be a put off for some but works for many as its soo Calcutta !I had an amazing stay with some cool conversations.

The place is actually for backpackers only. Neat and well maintained. Just 2 minutes walk from the main park street and 5-7 minutes walk from The Park Hotel. Plenty of clean common restrooms. The dormatory is however very small for 9 beds. So you get one bed for yourself. Check-in early to choose a bed of your choice. I came late and had to share my bed with the Air Conditioner! Youll get a free locker for your valuables but have to buy a lock for 30 INR to lock it. Please pay 30 INR in change. The common areas are very nice and if youre claustrophobic, you might not want to go to the dorm & stay in some space in common area only. The staff and all is nice, we all humans are indeed.

It has private rooms as well as 12 bed dormatory available. If yo want cheap stay, choose dormatory, its good, air conditioned, clean and beds are comfortable. The street market around this place is best in which you can find good street food too. Staff of the hotel is nice and well mannered. I stayed here for two days during my visit to Kolkata and I had no problem in any service.

The best park of it the location. close to Park street metro station . few meters from The Park hotel so easy to mention address. Its good if u r solo traveller.The bathroom n shower area is too crowded n its shared by male female both the same I didnt feel comfortable with it as no privacy to change clothes.At this price in such location for short stay is worth.

It was great stay in this hostel, This was my first time in a hostel and it was very good experience, if you are a solo or a couple traveller its a highly recommended hostel. pros:1) location- Its in the middle of the town, i.e everything essential is in walking distance to it2) You will get to meet new people & even foreigners & you will get to know about them and their experiences too.3) Very supportive staff.cons-1) Going out at night from this hostel is quite scarry, because hostel is located in an isolated lane, & at night big mices comes out of their holes, and actually they gave me a nightmare when I was going to hostel late night.

Location: Its situated inside the back lane off the main road. Quite difficult to locate it if you dont ask the locals.Amenities: hot water for showering, drinking water, kitchen for cooking, common area for hanging out with friends available. Towel and basic toiletries not provided.Service: Good. Value for money: Price is acceptable, though I hope itd be a little less.

Great location,hospitable staff, beautifully designed balcony and common rooms. However, cleanliness is a concern, I checked in at around 19:30 hrs and left next day at around 07:00 hrs, as the washrooms are common hence proper hygienic maintenance is must,sadly the bathrooms were dirty without proper housekeeping services and I personally think the room size for 12 bunks is little less. Otherwise, a beautiful place to stay, enjoyed my stay.

The location of this hostel is worth 5 stars alone--right off of Park St and a two minute walk from the metro station. Super convenient! The facilities are nice, especially the outdoor common area, but dorms are super super cramped. Triple bunkbeds. They definitely take full advantage of the space they have! This is a nice hostel in the heart of Kolkatas nicest area, such a good location!! The downside is there is very little room to move around because they really pack a lot of people into a tiny space. But they still manage to keep the place clean. There is an indoor and outdoor common space, a kitchen (breakfast included), and the washrooms are outside and not connected to rooms. The staff is very friendly. Overall I highly recommend Backpackers Park!

The hostel or whatever you would call a backpackers place, this is just a very compact, cramped place for anyone to even sleep during a night, let alone spending the day there. Its poorly lit and ventilated, with no windows in any room. The three tier bunkers towering along the walls, leaving a 6*2 feet aisle, as the only free space in any room. And the toilets are not very convenient for girls, because they open up to the only public spaces in the hostel. This place should nor be considered, having just its location as the only advantage.

Excellent location in central Kolkata in Park Street. The dorms were quite tight, there wasnt even space for putting our backpacks inside the room. Though the beds were nice and comfy. I had a very good nights sleep. The staff was very friendly, and the kitchen was well equipped. Breakfast included in the dorm price though it was the same everyday so it got a bit repetitive over time if you stay longer than 3 days. A bit of improvement would turn this hostel into a five star location. I would come back for sure.

The only proper hostel in kolkata. The hostel is situated just at the center of the city in the best location easily connected by metro service and bus service. The hostel is in a old heritage building opposite to the park hotel and provides you one of the best experience in the City of Joy.The owner and the stuffs are really good with good level of hospitality.The only problem i had is with the size of the washroom and the bath rooms. They have a common facility and each dorm rooms do not have its own rest room.This is a budget accommodation for any one traveling in kolkata.The common area is well designed and have a play and a smoking place too.

A great place to stay for anyone who is in town for few days. Located in a very prime location adjacent to the park hotel, this hostel provides good services for a very low price. The park metro station and the bus stop is near by so commuting to different part of the city isnt a hassle. Rooms are air conditioned and the bunk beds are very much comfy. There is enough space between the beds to sit upright. The rooms are very tight, and some of the lockers are difficult to access so few of us had to keep the luggage outside of the room. The staff is very helpful and cooperative. Another advantage of staying here is you get to meet people from different parts of the world which is always a good thing if you wish to increase your networking.

Good place for backpackers like me. Clean place but a very small room for 9 people! At times you may feel suffocated as well! There are common bathroom for all the rooms - meaning, if they have 4 such rooms, its only a single bathroom (with 2 compartment for toilet, 2 for taking bath) for 9 x 4 = 36 people. Also passed tough time to find out the entry of that hotel. Too dirty place around the hotel. Horribly slow capsule lift!

Budget hostel in the heart of Kolkatta city. Rooms n washrooms are clean, tidy n every bed has its own light n charging point. Hostel has a small kitchen as well where you can cook. Overall its a nice place to stay if you are a single or budget traveller.

Backpackers Park is one of the better hostels in Kolkata, mainly due to the awesome location. Its super claustrophobic though; there is no space to put your bag or move around in the rooms, which have triple bunkbeds which is a bit annoying. Nice new facilities though and they manage to keep it clean despite the tight quarters. Breakfast included. Short walk from the metro and Esplanade bus stop which is very convenient.

I love this place all necessary kitchen stuff). Big rooms, well furnished with a flat screen TV, fridge and microwave Free Wi-Fi is a big plus . All person are very nice, friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to have a deal with. Would definitely stay at the backpackers park hostel again.

Its very congested place, no space to move around. overall location is good but, difficult to give ++ remark. i had a bad experience with staff when I reached early morning @08:00 Am & hotel staff has just denied to entertain because checkin time is 01:00 PM, while they had not just checked it , as i had booked it in advance a day before check in.(i was checked in on 8th, while it was booked since 7th)i had a pathetic experience with staff during my checkin. event when during checked out....staff has misbehaved dur some small misunderstanding of my bagages ......not recommended for business peoples, if you want some local place to enjoy or other activities ...this would be a nice place.

Nothing else but backpackers overnight stay. Rooms are small without window. No place to hang Ur towels. Otherwise good to meet people. The best us that they dont mind to check U in early.thats very good. An Indian breakfast is privileged.

Very shady approach through a dark alley with creepy men staring at you,Not female friendly as there is no female staff present on the property, dirty uncleaned rooms, toikets filled with underwears of other guest hanging on the sides.The contact number is with a not so friendly person, the location is only plus point as its. Right on park street tho inside a shady alley, needs alot of improvement, i cancelled my 3 day stay n made it one night i couldnt cancel that as i arrived very late at night,thats how bad the property was.

Not suitable for students visiting Kolkata for exams. As peoples staying there are mostly tourists, they do party whole night and put lights on when they enters room (dormitory). Which creates problem for sleeping students.

I stayed in 6 bed ac female dormitory. bed r clean but I feel uncomfortable to share the toilet n shower space to share with the guys as there is no privacy. For female the shared bathroom should be only shared between the female guest.The breakfast is placed un hygienically as the put pori n veg just there for hours not even covered n guest just come n take. I stayed 2 days but didnt like to ate that kind of breakfast.for short stay its ok in that budget.

It was a GREAT comfortable stay here,never felt away from home,it feels so good,when you get back in evening from your daily work schedule, you have a Group of colleagues from all over India and world waiting for a chit- chat on coffee table in open balcony,then you can watch TV in a common room, morning breakfast is also very simple and good.Location is amazing,very close to business areas and market.highly recommend to all my friends.

The staff was super friendly and always helpful and the overall atmosphere was really light and nice. I wanted to switch bed which was done swiftly and without any problems. The location was right where I needed it to be and was easy accessible with public transportation.

Actually they were unable to provide me the first bed from the floor as I mentioned in my booking and they agreed about it. Because I never slept in this kind of bed before, so I was afraid of climb up. They provided me second bed, but it was ok too.If you are a backpacker then you have to keep with you before entering the hotel below:01. If you stay at a dorm, you have to buy a lock for locker service. They will charge 30 Rupees.02. Shared bathroom has no towels. Their is no common towel too. You have to buy it, they will charge 60 Rupees.03. You should bring soap, toothbrush and toothpaste too. Usually it is provided by every hotel in Bangladesh.04. And dont hope the packpackers who stay at hotel will be that much friendly to you, everybody is busy with their own work or plan of travel.
