A good old cinema hall..

I just love Mitra Cinema Hall. Whenever I recall its memories, I really get nostalgic. It feels like my college days are back. I still remember those days when I used to bunk my classes and watch brand new movies. To me its a world of joy. A perfect place to watch new releases.

North Kolkata is famous for the heritage theatre halls which were later rebuilt into cinema hall. Mitra is one of them and has single screen. They offer a seating of 950 capacity and has AC as well. Recently it has been stopped its service. But was once a central attraction spot in north Kolkata.

The hall is good for the price tag it have .You can watch a movie for just rs 60.

When other cinema halls have struggled to survive this hall is an exception by continuing with no frills low profile approach. Its sound system is not dolby yet patrons are happy with the sound quality. Balcony seats are not very comfortable but then you can omit them for a upper tier seating. Parking is a headache though. All said affordable, old wordly and a traditional cinema hall for all.

Possibly the best theatre in North Kolkata that offers bang for your buck. Awesome seating arrangement and sound quality. I would recommend the balcony seats for better experience. All the major Bengali and Hindi movies are shown here. Convinently located at Bidhan Sarani between Shyambazar and Hatibagan. Public Transportation is available till 10.30 at night.

Still standing straight and maintaining pace with their competitors. Although, someone wont get the comfort of a multiplex here but it is one of the oldest cinema hall which is still running. Nostalgia will hit you hard.

Mitra Cinema is a one of the premier movie halls in North Kolkata. Launched in the year 1931 under the name Chitra Cinema by Birendranath Sircar. In 1963 renamed as Mitra Cinema.It has to its credit the history of running many blockbuster movies. The glory of its success story with movies Like Hathi Mere Sathi, Guide, Phool Aur Patthar, Jugnu, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge etc. But today Mitra Cinema is sutdown for its financial problems.

Its the cheapest multiplex you will find in hatibagan. But there will be hooting, whistling and shouting when there are great scenes happening! If you are comfortable with that, then its fine. Personally for me, its good to see people having fun and enjoying the movie....so its nice. The seats are comfortable. Audio and sound quality is pretty good at such a cheap price.

Goto cinema house for movies during my college days and after. Alas its gone into the vagaries of time. Left with todays nuisance multiplexes wherein for a movie you spend a fortune and proudly beam your brag. Good sense and sensibility gone. Mitra Ill be missing you till I remember.

One of the old and best movie theater of kolkata city. It is well communicated with neighbouring areas by different bus routes, auto rickshaw routes and taxi.It has glorious history. Cine lovers like this movie theatre very much.

Used to be a good entertainment place for all . From young to old, now the place is losing its position. That glory is slowly getting diminish. Still sometimes you will see crowd. Overall its a good place to see movie with your friends & families

The hall is good and is quite affordable. The interior is plain simple and doesnt really consist of any additional shops, restaurants or anything of the same kind except for a ticket counter. Although, considering the price at which they are offering tickets, picture and sound quality are both up to the mark, nothing much to complain there. Lately the hall has been kept closed since a few weeks, probably for maintenance purpose.

Its worth the price they charge for the tickets. Located at a very convenient location with lots of modes of transportation. The balcony tickets are very good with fantastic view. Dont expect luxuries of a multiplex. The best part is you it can take snacks inside unlike the multiplexes bent on looting you.

We went here last year. We went with our group. It is located near shyambazar. Its a quite old cinema hall. But it is closed for a while these days due to lack of profit. It had good sound. But the seating arrangement was horrible. AC was not available. Only fan was there.

Before going for Mitra I had a notion that the hall would be very old, uncomfortable chairs, no AC and so on. But to surprise me, the hall is old, but they revamp the chairs to watch the movie comfortably, and Hall is also fully air conditioned. The screen and audio quality is not less than an experience of multiplex. Overall one can enjoy pocket friendly grand experience with their mates.

It was one if cheapest in North Kolkata Single Screen Film Halls and the sound quality was good. But could not survive the present multiplex regime and currently it is closed down.The ambience was quite friendly and varieties of food items sold outside the Hall.Various latest Bollywood/Hollywood/Tollywood movies were screened here.Curtain Calls off for such a Long Heritage Halls.

The only cinema hall left in shyambazar area. Not that great. Picture and sound quality is not so good but acceptable. They have 3D also.

Sound quality is not horrible, screen quality is not upto the mark. Price of the tickets are not justifiable with the experience one would get from viewing. Location of the cinema hall is good, one can easily reach. I would have given a 4 stars if the price of tickets were 20-30 rupees less than the present fare.

More or less good.The hall is quite decent with an average sound quality. The most important is that, this hall has air conditioning plus some regular ceiling fans.So if you want a decent hall with ticket price of 90-100 then its recommended.

Budget friendly, and in a decent quality and it is providing Dolby digital. But no such fancy food is available, you can keep your own munchies with you cause they do not bother. One of the best simgle screen cinema hall of North Kolkata, situated at Hatibagan opposite to Minar Cinema hall. The seats were comfortable, screen and sound quality were very good. Ticket price was also pocket friendly. But Unfortunately, after serving 85 years of entertainment this hall is closed now.

Well organized cinema hall. You can buy ticket online. But picture quality is not as bright as it need. Sound quality is good... Overall experience will be good.

Its good place to watch cinema. I watched two movies here. Taking food into the cinema hall is not restricted. You can take it easily.

This is by far the best cinema hall in the Hatibagan area. On an average they screen more than one film on a given day, though its a single screen theatre. Tickets can be done online as well as at the counter. Its an A C hall with digital Dolby sound and 2K projection. Clean toilets and a beautiful lobby with painting panelled walls in both the two stories.

Considering todays standards Mitra is an average hall. Sound quality is ok. The main drawback is the seats, a bit too congested, hence when someone is sitting next to you it becomes a bit uncomfortable.

We went to watch bahubali 2 here. Everything is good, except the seats. They are not very specious. Theatre screen sound ambience is good.
