Bijoli Cinema Hall is a popular cinema hall situated at South Kolkata, 38 Shyama Prasad Mukherjee road, next to Bhabanipur Police Station. Asutosh college, Jatin Das Metro station and Chittaranjan Seba Sadan ( hospital) are very near to this cinema hall. It is a pocket friendly, well maintained, A.C. cinema hall. One cannot expect the comfort of a multiplex in this place. The hall is quite big having one big screen and good sound system. The seating arrangement at Balcony is quite comfortable with push back arrangement. The hall has a big rest room with comfortable sitting arrangements infront of the Balcony. It is one of the oldest cinema halls of Kolkata. A very good place to watch movies with family. Ticket price is reasonable and has the arrangement of parking vehicles/ two wheelers. Online booking can be made. Recently the hall was converted to 3D projection.

No such space for parking seperately, so its better to come by public transport. Nearest metro station is JD park, just 5 min you need to walk from metro to reach the hall. Compared to current market competitors, they arranged things in cheaper ways than multiplexes.For the first time, i stepped inside this hall and took balcony to watch a bengali thriller movie.One thing i would like to mention that they have 3D facility also,marked above of the entrance though i didnt watched a 3D film so cant assure about that.AC is there plus they have sufficient quantity of fans which can serve the purpose surely.Balcony seems to be upgraded than older and the seats are push back to enjoy during a full length movie. But the rear stall is like old outdated one,carrying the tradition of 80s and 90s pattern. Midium hall , a little conjested and the biggest draw back being has a lot of stairs making it difficult for elderly and handicapped patrons , it plays latest Bengali and other movies and they have staff who cater very well during halftime for snacks and drinks , they are prompt with their service.Parking is a nightmare as there is no allocated space for it better to go by bus or take a cab or metro as it’s in the heart of the city. Also ticket prices are cheaper than malls

One of the oldest hall of Kolkata. After renovation the everything is developed here. Sit, food service , screen, ac , bathroom everything. And 3d is also available here, but not for every movie. Ticket price is very low in comparison to the halls. Nearest metro is jatin das park , and beside Bhawanipur police station. I love this place. I urge everyone to visit this hall. They are actually getting very less profit . Our frequent visit will make it good 😍

Its a nice pocket friendly AC movie hall, but if you expect something like multiplex then you have came to the wrong place. Theyve plastic seats with proper leg space at the rear stall and also have comfortable sofa kind of seats at the balcony stall. The hall is quite big with a big screen and Dolby digital sound as well. They also have clean rest room as well. Overall pocket friendly nice hall, where you can watch movies with your family and friends.

Watched a movie in balcony. Staffs were well behaved. Liked the ambience. Value for money. Best part is during intermission you can get chips at only Es 20/-. Personally I never understood why popcorn is so costly in Inox :)

Good place to watch movie, rear stall and front stall have plastic chairs but balcony has push back chairs. Inside hall environment is good with a dolby digital sound facility. The theater screen is big and good and the hall is big too... But the hall ambience is not up to the mark... It should be improved for a better movie experience.. The hall still has fans and the sound experience is not good.. But its cost effective.. I wanted to experience an old theater and i strongly want an improvement in the movie experience..

Went for a Bengali Movie at the bottom stall and it was perfectly fine. Good picture and Sound. Seats were plastic seatsWent for Mission Mangal, took the top seats(balcony). The sound was totally messed up.

Sadly, however, this Cinema also follows the disgusting trend of terminating the movie before ending credits are over (or, for that matter, even started). Every movie is a culmination of the hard work of many people - these people deserve recognition. Not to mention, any movie with a post-credits scene is best pirated, given the present condition of Cinema Halls.

Value for money movie theatre located very conveniently on SP Mukherjee Road near Jatin Das Metro Station (by foot, one can easily reach here in 5 minutes)

Nice popular cinema hall in this area and its a very old cinema hall but still now they are maintaining well with sound,ac and good ambiance.

Its a movie theatre with mostly commercial film release. A large one at that but evidently has seen better days. On the main road beside the bhawanipur police station, so impossible to miss ones eye. Has a small balcony too. Seats are plastic except from the last few rows that are lined with thin cushions. Has clean bathrooms too. Hosted the kolkata film festival in 2019 and plans to keep it up in the coming years.

Large screen for a single screen theatre and comfortable pushback seats at balcony make it a decent experience. The airconditioning could be better. Apparently the care was lacking because the audience was thin. It was a not-so-cold winter evening and it was feeling a trifle hot inside.What I appreciate is theres a modern yet reasonably peiced cafe in the making on the first floor.

Not a quite good hall. Have been once there. Made my mind not to go there any more. You cant even pull your seat and incline your back, which makes it difficult to sit in a comfortable position while watching. I would prefer NAVINA cinema hall to this, at the same ticket cost.

The hall is ok , but a special mention for the night employee on 25.2.19.I watched Aha re in the night show a and forgot my umbrella in the hall.Next day the other employees told me to wait for the night shift employee to report to duty as only he can tell, whether he found my umbrella.As soon as the man came he told me that he has safely kept my umbrella and promptly returned it to me.Thank you

Just best cinema hall at this price point (₹100 onwards), powered by DOLBY DIGITAL. I dont know why this cinema halls are empty and everyone gone crazy about !N0X and !M@X. Hall is AC and grab a seat to last rows and you will a support of fan too. Sound is loud enough to feel, screen quality is also good. I saw Endgame @85 from pytm and I became fan! 😍

Good Revival.I hope they continue screening good movies.Their 3D projection system worked well.They should turn to 70mm to give real thrill of 3D.As you might have experienced that as soon as you put on the 3 D glasses the Image shrinks.

Value for money. I spend 330 bucks that would costs 820 in nearest mall. Ac was ok...balcony seats were similar to mall. What else can we expect from a old hall.

It is an old traditional hall well known to South Calcutta people used to show bengali films since decades. Located in a prime location. Recently renovated and current films are displayed. All sorts S of steps need to o be taken so that these types of halls in our city survives and not closed for want of spectators. I used to see films in these type of halls.

This cinema hall is best for family theatre. The ambience is good. May be need some technical progress for modernization. Like when Im booked a ticket from book my show there are only front 2 row in balcony for booking purpose. But the rest of the seat is almost free.

We have taken Polao Mutton Kasha nd Tampor PrawnOut of which the prawn dish nd polao turned good and after having so many good reviews mutton kasha turned extremely bad in taste and pieces were too hard to tear apartStars for the hospitality we received nd for the fry and polao.

This cinema is a single screen one. The renovation work is going on to make it look more premium. The sound quality is audible, though lacks the 3D effect. The picture quality is decent for a price like that. The seatings in the balcony is good, cushiony, but the seating down below is of plastic chairs. The AC is in working state and works decently. The place is beside Bhowanipore Thana, and can be located quickly.

Recently refurbished and renovated, but the same are largely cosmetic. The air conditioning is poor, making do with a few split air conditioners, feels quite claustrophobic and restless, poor screen projection, the output of Dolby sound is hardly felt due to poor placement of sound boxes, apart from poor quality coffee and roadside chips, no other food is available, the sitting position is hardly comfortable.

The screen is probably not the highlight here. The ambience, audience, screams of retro kolkata. For true bongs. It is dolby, for the ones who seek technology and the screen is good enough. Please dont compare it with an imax or something like that. The sound is however a bit on the lower side, which of course is not supposed to bother one. Best part, time your movie with a quick bite of kabiraji or cutlet at the Bijoli Grill, one of kolkatas oldest restos situated just adjoining the cinema theatre.

Somewhat decent hall. However when booking via BookMyShow you might notice, the whole lower stalls are booked. That is rarely the case as they only sell the balcony online. You might check out with them on the landline before booking. One more advise, try to avoid booking in the front row of the balcony. There is a railing there which obstructs visibility.
