Average hotel. Small room, geyser not working. Only good for location. But you can definitely get a better hotel for the same price.

Basic things like soap, tooth brush, paste, water heater are not provided. Early morning tea was not possible as the cook came late. Complementary breakfast was meagre in quantity. For the same price in city like Pune and Bangalore these basic things are provided. Room was properly cleaned. Needs improvisation to give customer the value of money.

The stay was good for a quick resting stays. Was here to attend a wedding reception it was good. Unfortunately no Wi-Fi and toilet was little small. Apart from that its good for one or two people staying.

Worst place charge extra amount

The place had many problems. We went there for a wedding reception. The banquet hall isnt suitable for a large group. The food was good. It doesnt have a parking space for guests. We had to park our car outside without any safety.

My marriage ceremony party held here at the top floor (rooftop). Nice food and place but car parking is a big issue here.

First of all Down Town Guest House and Banquet hall is recognized by Ministry of Tourism, so you know you can trust the place of the back. This place has great classy banquet hall on 1st floor, and a nice gathering space on 2nd floor. Has elevator facility from ground floor which is great for persons having difficulty to climb stairs. This hall is attached with Club salon which is just beside the road. I personally suggest this for social gathering like receptions, birthdays. This place has gained a lot of praise in many blogs.If you find the post helpful do like it.

My sister booked this Hall for her marriage and the stay of the guests. The guests were treated so badly and were also denied the basic amenities like blanket and clean drinking water. The sound system played at the marriage and pathetic. It malfunctioned every time. The manager and their staff Pradip were so blunt whenever we had placed any request to them. It was seriously not expected from them as they took a lump-sum amount for nothing!!!

Apart from the location the rest is an absolute garbage. Starting from the casual attitude of the stuffs, untidy rooms, pathetic room service and also the delayed services. It takes an hour or more if you even order a dal chawal. Tasteless and cold foods will be served. They charge for each and everything but in terms of service you will get nothing. If there was an opportunity to give a big 0 instead of 1 star I would have opted for that. Please I request not to ever think about staying in this guest house even for 1 night. You can thank me for that.P.S. : The behavior of a guy named Kaustav was good though but others like Santanu etc. are pathetic. I strongly recommend to sue him as he just do not understand what customer service is all about. I am not sure whether my rating will matter or not but I should actually warn others to book a far better place at a better price than this one where they can actually get some good services for the price they are paying.

This hotel offers decent stay in a budget price .Location is very convenient. its very near to the Acropolis mall and almost all famous restaurants are nearby. city and all the major destinations fall under 8 km duration.its in the main road side and may not be a good choice for guests who need a calm and quiet place to stay. the rooms always have noises from the vehicles on the road . cabs are always easily available for your travel needs. Rooms are decent . rooms and washrooms are clean and room service was done daily. Towels were provided but no other toiletries were given and they said they charge extra for soap which was quiet unusual. If u want a really spacious room please opt for the superior deluxe.All rooms are air conditioned and bfast is complimentary. They have an in-house restaurant which serve quality food with very reasonable price. staff behavior was also very cooperative. One bad thing I felt was about the rule that outside food is not allowed in the hotel. you cant ask for any food delivery joint to deliver food to the room. you cannot have any outside food inside the room and thats bad for a hotel in Kolkata where ppl come to try the different kolkata dishes . security is available 24 hrs. bfast menu changes everyday and its a fixed menu with only tea served along .overall stay experience is good . Room may be a bit in the smaller side for a family but its ok for 2 adults . The restaurant serves good quality South Indian food

Location wise good... expected better room as I booked superior deluxe room but it was a normal room. The worst part is they charge 10% of the total food bill for in room food service and 5% for restaurant service. Even if you go to restaurant they will still charge 5% plus tax on the bill. Total fraud is going on in the hotel. TV was so small like laptop not able to watch properly...half channels are not there. Pillow covers are totally torn. towel is dirty like hell. You cant get the hotel after 10pm on phone.chkout time is 11am but breakfast at restaurant is till 10.30 ..we could not have our breakfast for this reason. Staffs were good..Service good.

I went to Banquet 5 at 5th floor. It is nice cozy. The location is great. Right on Rashbehari connector. There is ample parking space on the other side.

Great place to stay

Though you have paid for room charges, room is not yours because its not hotel or guest house. It is exactly like an hostel where warden tells you when to come and when to go out, what to eat and where to eat. These guys really dont respect the guests and forcing to have food from there restaurant only. You cannot take parcels from outside and eat inside your room. They work in timings like 9 AM to 9 PM.If you need anything in midnight there is nobody at reception or at front desk to attend your call.Room service boys will not leave the room untill you pay the tip.There are popular restaurant just opposite to this guest house but management is not allowing to bring food from these outlets.If you come in late or want to leave early morning then you need to open the shutter gate on your own because security guard is missing.AC in the room was not cooling and after raising complaint then also they didnt act on it.Reception manager is not having any manners to talk, he was too arogant.You will get good hotels in similar price near acropolis mall.

You have no options to choose from. They have a very limited menu to choose from. Infact you cannot even customise a little bit of what is offered in the menu.Like I asked my chilly chicken to be dry which they straightaway denied to serve like that.Food taste is horrible. The chilly chicken and chicken munchurian tasted like same corn flour flavored gravy. The Noddles had no masala and looked white. Though it was full of shredded pieces of chicken.Ambience is average. Staff behaviour is polite and good.

Ill managed, dirty, lacking all amenities

I had arranged for my daughters 2nd birthday here and it turned out to be an awesome event. Nice arrangements with yumm food. Guest enjoyed thoroughly and it was indeed a evening to remember. Staffs and managers are courteous and well mannered. Hope to book in for upcoming events as well.

Overall good experience. Had been to this place in the past as well. The experience I had last time made me rebook this place for this trip as well. Nice, clean and good ambience. Perfectly fitted my wallet along with good food served by them. Love the area with tea shops directly across the road. For all my 3-4 days trip, this is the place i would love to stay at. The support staff is extremely helpful.

It was a great stay at Downtown. It was my birthday yesterday and I really enjoyed my stay there ✌. The room service was good and the environment was soothing. I am really looking forward for my next stay in Downtown.

Dark rooms, ac did not work, damp room, wet walls- NOT ONLY FOR MY ROOM BUT ALL ROOMS.rude receptionists, small room size just enough to walk... Room cleaning at only particular time and if you are not there you miss it. No sufficient lightsTowels do not get replaced and same with bedsheets. Please dont go there until you have no choices...

I had booked 3 rooms at Downtown Guest House located at Kasba area, Kolkata through Cleartrip website.I was provided with a booking confirmation email on the same day (23 Oc, 2017). Later that day, one Asish Ghosh of the mentioned hotel sent an email to me rejecting the hotel booking.As a result, i made a booking somewhere else.On 8th Dec, 2017, cancellation fee amounting Rs. 4368/- was deducted from my credit card (details were taken during the booking process).I want my money to be refunded.

Down Town Guest House is in Kasba . From Ballygunge Station Bijon Setu to Rubi it is on right side . The guest house is easily visible from main road , Rubi connector . Total fifteen rooms are there . Room rent starts from Rs. 999 . Depending on room size , position , comforts etc rates increase . As per locality rates of the room are justified . A nice restaurant is inside the guest house where different types of dishes with less spicy and less oil . Foods are very tasty . Marriage hall or social gathering arrangement can be done on top floor . Overall it is nice guest house .

The rooms are awfully small. They fail very well at providing just about every amenity one believes should be available at a hotel, including but not limited to toiletries and--- believe it or not, even blankets! Yes, they didnt even have blankets in the room that I was allotted when Id booked one!

Toilet paper needed to be requested 3 times. Laundry took 3 days instead of 1. And the receptionist was the worst I ever saw in any hotel worldwide.

The birth day of my wifes cousins daughter was celebrated there ; a good banquet hall in the 3 rd floor .

The banquet is small, better for some birthday party and small occasions never for a marriage ceremony, also the food they served are below quality.
