I was in homeopathic hospital and google is asking about library!!!! I do not know how was Rammohan library 🙄🙄

A public library founded in 1904 as a memorial dedicated to Raja Rammohun Roy, one of the harbingers of 19th century renaissance in Bengal. Apart from being a repertoire of literary publications, and a centre of enlightenment led by Rabindranath Tagore, J C Bose, P C Ray and many stalwarts, it serves as a free reading room for the students.

A good collection of books. Auditorium for various function is also available in low budget.

Not a big place... May fill a capacity of maximum 200 people at a time... Not very clean... Seems to have lost its glory... In terms of communication its very well located... But please be cautious at doesnt have its own parking slot... If you are planning to come by own car then u have to find a place for parking first...

Staffs are cordial and amicable.They wont let you feel unassisted.Good place filled with an awful lot of rare books, current books,magazines,gazettes.Pristine historical library scented with a beautiful smell of old books.

Historical places... Very good experience... Arrangements are satisfactory for small prestigious programs like gathering of maximum 200people... No arrangement for rock bands or loud programmers in respective of its glorious past... No late night programs entered here.. According to present authority Hall should be left by maximum 9:30-10pm.. A little bit trouble in lighting arrangements....stage has moderate size.. Green rooms are good... Also have balcony seats..a small greenery near entrance of the hall..fooding or eating in the hall is not entertained by authority.. Location is very important.. No parking lot is available for cars here in the premises... Nearest parking is 500-800metre ahead for a small number of cars

Rammohun Library & Free Reading Room (RL&FRR) was established in the year 1904 by some celebrities to perpetuate the memory of Raja Rammohun Roy. This institution is claimed to be unique and noteworthy in this country, “bearing the torch of reason and knowledge which the Raja Rammohun Roy had endeavoured to inculcate in the mind of his country men for their enlightenment and uplifting”.The first mention of the Library in the memory of Raja Rammohun Roy was found in 27th Sep. 1886 in a meeting chaired by Dr. Mahendralal Sarkar at the City College Hall, when a montion was forwarded to establish a memorial in the name of the great reformer. It was conceived that the best way of remembering the great man was to set up a Library.

It is a very good library having wonderful collection. It is consideted to be one of the oldest library in Kolkata. Saturday is closed hete. You can spent hours here studying the books. The maintenance is good. The board of trustee operates one auditorium, adjacent to the library, on purely rental basis. It is a non-AC auditorium. You can book this for small cultural programs also. Winter will bw preferable for you.

Rammohon library is on APC Rd , Kolkata near maniktola . This is a library with reading room .Hindi learning programme also available in this library without any cost.

Best environment for study but timing problem
