He seems to be always very busy and does not listen to the patient. This character of him might be due to his very schedule. Most of the time, in case emergency also, he is not available over phone/WA to the patient party..

One of the worst Paedatrician you could possibly go to. If you’re worried about your child’s health, talking to this doctor will only make it worse. The high handedness with which he treats the parents is appalling. He thinks it is beneath him to explain about the problems the child is facing.

Dr. Soumitra Dutta is one of Indias best pediatricians because of his excellent diagnostic power and ability to give a solution with minimum medicines. A doctor par excellence he is always confident about his decision which is always an added motivation to me. He is also an excellent human being, with many good hobbies. It will be wrong to judge the person with few harsh words, according to me that will be grossly misleading. Overall if you need a best in class treatment and an honest advice he is the man.

One of the best doctor in Kolkata. He treated my childs blister which he had on his stomach that no one could treat but he treated within 2 days..... And even when he was an infant,he was suffering from breathing problem which again no one could treat but again!! as always he treated.Every Child should consult this doctor surely...

As per my Concern he is a superb Doctor when in your urgent need as I am consulting from from my child birth ,as my child is now 4 yrs old.When my child is 2.5 month old at mid night 12:30 I got one problem and call Sir he not only responded but gave give solution for cure.He is rude and Harsh to other but if he will not be rude or harsh then patient will be patient only not got cured.You can contact him at any moment any time and positively will get response from him what other doctor dont do.

My son is now 17years old,he was suffering from bronchopneumonia in his childhood.12times he was admitted in AMRI.each and everytime dr,Dutta was helping.us.not only for my child issues,he gives lots of valuable suggestions for my parents and so on.Actually I cant explain how good the man is.he is my God.

He does not listen to problems of child. Very arrogant and rude. Does not respect parents of child or other doctors and does not even bother to ask child. Considers himself a very big doctor which he is certainly not. His only interest is vaccine where easy money is involved. Avoid him.

He is one of the worst doctor I have ever seen in my life..Very very rude behaviour and if u ask him something twice he gets agitated..I will never recommend him for anyones baby..If u cal him over the phone and ask about something he will answer it but in case u need to ask something else he directly disconnects the cal without even giving a chance to speak..He gets really irritated to answer a question twice..I dont like his way of talking..

Quick and fairly accurate diagnosis. The doctor accommodated a consultation at Salt Lake for our child without an appointment despite him(the doc) having worked at the hospital overnight. A few weeks later with our little one again spiking a fever, he accommodated us at the Neotia hospital right before he got to his other scheduled procedure. Impressed with accessibility over phone and in person.Weve also recommend him to others visiting Kolkata on vacation and now know whom to take the kid to the next time we are there.

Excellent diagnosis. Always accessible over phone also and takes complete responsibility of the kid till they get cured. On different times, he has always been accurate in diagnosis of problems of complex cases which many doctors have taken several visits to treat. Dr. Soumitra Dutta is one of the most astonishing people I have met in my life, not only as a doctor but also as a human being. Not many doctors will make it a point to take all calls from worried parents, time notwithstanding, patiently hear them out and offer course of action. Most doctors would ask you to come to the chamber so that they can get paid. He truly lives up to his oath as a doctor.

No sincerity at all while noting down names of patient. Took down my kids name , number and email id and asked to wait. Waited for 1.5 hours and then the assistant told that my kids name is not there . this sort of an experience wasnt expected. Make sure you recheck with the assistant when you take an appointment . Had to take my child elsewhere after this long wait. hope you improve your attentiveness and behaviour.

Dr. Dutta is no doubt has a great clinical eye n one f the best for the kids. But I had a problem with the kind of language and tone he uses to talk to the parents.its believed that half of the treatment is done,when the doctor explains and speaks to u.he has time for none. He doesnt answer d queries new parents have n uses abusive languages at times. I would probably not visit him again.

Very empathetic.Always makes it a point to explain to the parents what the illness is and what treatment he will do.

He can be a good peditrican but his behavior and attitude is more then worse and intolerant and unfortunately had to write this inspite of my daughter was under him for so many years. I went for my daughters vaccine today at 11.30 am and he just denied to give as because I came late whereas he never mentioned the time. ( Time was mentioned in prescription (9 to 12 ). When I confront him for his rough behavior he just said GET LOST. SO a doctor like this who is so much dum is better not to show.

Undoubtedly the best Pediatrician in Town. I am following him from 21 days of sons age when he was admitted for respiratory distress and he is now 10 months old. He never refer too much medicines and too much visit to doctor chamber. It is true that he speaks up front on ur face but whatever he speaks is 100% true. Dr. Soumitra Dutta, maybe a good paediatrician but have a lot of attitude problem. Maybe purposely he fools the patients by giving medicines in installments. Every time you visit hell charge you Rs.900. For simple cough n cold for my child Ive to visit 3 times and every time he charged same amount. Mostly he recommends Antibiotics and even doesnt bother to listen to parents queries and issues regarding. Hes also very much occupied with his mobile. Will definitely wont visit him again.

Doctor is just awesome as I have a very big exp for my small son with 2month old was having discharge issues from amblicus.Some other doctor for surgery but saumitra sir told this can be cured with only home medicine. Thats it. And he saved my son life.So he is best in Kolkata.

Be careful of this doctor..he targets few of his patients to loot money. Simple cold of my kid got worsened due to his treatment. He kept on prescribing antibiotics with higher doses. Then I went to another simple pediatrician doctor, who chose to give right enough dose of medicines and cured.

He is one of the very very few doctors whom I have come across (and I have come across quite of them) who answers calls and walks you through an emergency situation even if he is abroad. He is very up to date with the modern developments in the field and treats accordingly. Best part is he educates you about the problem and guides you accordingly. We have witnessed how he feels for the kids and treats them. Definitely the best doc we came across.

Soumitra da as wel lovingly call him, is the most passionate doctor that I have seen. Passionate, not in the sense of achieving glory but passionate about solving problems as a doctor. It must be a cliche but he believes in make the world a better place. We have always gone to him at odd hours for my nephew and he has always been so welcoming and more often then not solved his health issues with simple solutions. He is a brilliant diagnostician who believes in clinical examination rather than going for fancy and expensive tests at the very beginning. You are in good hands if you are going to him.

He is a doctor with uncanny diagnostic abilities. He can look at the most mundane of symptoms and diagnose the real problem. This is how probably he brought back our son from a dangerous and acute bronchiolitis when my LO was just 7 weeks old. Seemed to have no respect for patients guardians.dosent seem to have knowledge about anything....and if the guardians try to point out something ,acts out of ego and starts bashing....... doesnt seem to be interested in diagnosis or discussion rather goes about insulting the parents....and he is never interested in listening to the doubts and queries raised by the parents but willingly answers innumerable amounts of calls while attending a patient....no work ethics.

Undoubtedly the best Pediatrician in Town. My 2 boys ages 9 and 7 have been under Dr. Duttas care for the past 6 years. During these 6 years I have had many chances to visit Dr. Dutta and see him work with his patients. On a background note, we moved back to India after living in the US for 10 years; therefore we did extensive research and visits to many Doctors before trusting Dr. Dutta with our children.Dr Dutta is one of the few Doctors or perhaps the only Doctor in Kolkata I know who is available to take your call at all times even at 11 pm and will patiently answer any question regarding to symptoms, treatment etc. You know that he has been trained under well known mentors by looking how he handles his patients, his thorough physiological examination and probing questions.I am appalled that some folks have given him a 1-star rating, probably because of their lack of knowledge or ego problem with the Doctor. We are very happy with him because unlike most Doctors he will NEVER prescribe antibiotics to any child unless the fever has exceeded 48-72 hours and he is sure that it is not a viral infection. Yes, one needs to wait for some time to see him because his chamber is always busy but if you plan and arrive early at 7:45 am the waiting period is much less.I have seen him refer patients from poor financial backgrounds for treatment / surgery to Vellore and other affordable places in Southern India and find his ethics far better than most Doctors in the city. Dr Dutta speaks his mind out and will always tell you the truth and sometimes people may not agree with it. It is his job to tell you that your child is obese and needs to lose weight and stay off sugar laden colas and fast food. Many a times people find this offensive, so the fault is not with the Doctor but with us parents who are so blinded in love with our kids that we fail to see what is really good and bad for our child.

Dr Soumitra Dutta is one of the best pediatricians in Kolkata. He has an excellent diagnostic skills. He is very sincere, empathetic and confident. He is literally available over the phone on 24×7 even if he is out of station. He attends every phone call with paitence, many a times he advises the medicines over the phone if he thinks it is a simple problem but if he thinks its a serious issue or there is an emergency he advises immidiately to come to the nearest possible chamber or hospital from the patients location (just imagine) where he can examine the patient and can do the needful even if it is late at night or early in the morning. At his chamber he always prioritise the new born babies or if there is any emergencies and that is also properly communicated to the other awated patients parents. He always actively listens patients problem first then examine the patient throughly next explains the illness to the parents, makes them aware of all the do s and dont s and the treatment he is going to do.Just give it a thought that this is not a matter of a day or two, a Dr is giving this service to the society years after years consistently without any fail and what are We giving back to him in return? Cant we spend a little moment to write down a word of appreciation in return? I think he should be an example for others. We are fortunate enough to have him around.
