Grew up playing inside the campus. Very well maintained and decorated place of worship. Although now entry is restricted to the Jain religion only.
Shree Digambar Jain Pareswanath Temple is considered one of the most sacred Jain temple of worship in Kolkata. This temple was built in 1914 and belongs to Diagambar sect. of Jainism. This artistic Nagar style temple, with ornamental pillars and sculptures copied from the old jain temples and caves, casting its shadow in the adjoining tank creates a picturesque scenery. The temple is surrounded by four beautiful gardens. A unique 81 feet high Manastambha (Pillar of pride) with sparking white marble is one of the major attraction of this temple. This temple is dedicated to Parshvanatha, the twenty-third tirthakar of Jainism. The manasthambh made by white colored marble is really attractive. Temple also has a dharamshala equipped with all modern facilities
Only Jains are allowed to enter no one else, Told by Security Guard.
Also known as Lal Mandir (Red Temple)
Closed now due to pandemic. Disappointed. Will come here again. Always with God.

Nice old & solid construction
Amazing architecture of Jain Temple in Kolkata, West Bengal.
The temple itself looks magnificent in colours and architecture Intricate work , truly amazing done by hand with no modern technology to assist craftsmen of note. The temple is surrounded by four beautiful gardens. A unique 81 feet high Manastambha (Pillar of pride) with sparking white marble is one of the major attraction of this temple..
Nice place to go and have a visit over there.Big and spacious, lush green gardens.
Nice and quiet Religious
Built in 1914, the Shree Digambar Jain Pareswanath Temple of Kolkata is a very sacred place of worship for the Digambara Jain community. Digambara is one of the two main sects of Jainism – the other branch is Svetambara. This glorious red temple with its bright red entrance greet the pilgrims to the temple premise, which has four sprawling gardens surrounded by trees, hedges and flowering plants for the visitors to take rest and feel the oneness with nature. The pilgrims can also feed the hundreds of fish in the fish tank. There are some symbolic installations like a cow and tiger feeding from the same waterhole and some fountains within the temple premise too. The other attraction is the Stambha or tower made of white marble beside the sparkling red temple. Religious inscriptions preaching non-violence and other aspects of Jainism can be found throughout the Stambha. Other buildings include the monks’ quarters, temple office building (a part of which would be soon used to house a library) and a community area where religious programs are held.
Nice temple every Jain people need to visit there very nice temple and nicely maintained
Visited jain temple today beside R G KAR, surprised to listen entry is restricted!! Only Jains can enter! Guards are rude and no written notice was shown. .. No one present from management to have a word with n understand the real reason of restrictions. Seen elderly visitors also were refused on the religion Ground. Is this kolkata??

Lord Parshvanatha (Pārśvanātha), also known as Lord Parshva (Pārśva) and Lord Paras, was the 23rd of 24 tirthankaras (ford-makers or propagators of dharma) of Jainism. He is one of the earliest tirthankaras who are acknowledged as historical figures. He was the earliest exponent of Karma philosophy in the recorded history. The Jain sources place him between the 9th and 8th centuries BC whereas historians point out that he lived in the 8th or 7th century BC (around 877 BC). Parshvanatha was born 350 years before Lord Mahavira. He was the spiritual successor of 22nd tirthankara Lord Neminatha. He is popularly seen as a propagator and reviver of Jainism. Lord Parshvanatha attained nirvana on Mount Sammeta (Madhuban, Jharkhand) in the Ganges basin, an important Jain pilgrimage site.
Nice nd beautiful........ Worshiped by jain....
Good place keep in mind this Temple 🛐 is only for Jain. Other religious not allowed.
Our Jain temple, Muni maharaj sa sangh r there to enlightenment our life
Yea... Its a awesome place. But if you are not a jain... Plz dont go there.
So peaceful , it feels like all your problems vanishes away andu enter in a state of bliss
Its near to the bridge and the entrance is well marked by the big architectural gate. A very clean and peaceful place amidst of Kolkata.
The most irritating part is they don’t allow non jain people...only those who belongs from jain community are allowed to enter...I mean seriously?? Place of worship should be open to everyone! Is it justified that only a particular community can enter and worship ?? I particularly didn’t liked it at all!!
Destiny where you can get complete silence and peace and can enjoy nature
