I love this place very much.Whenever I get leisure time I must visit to this place. It is located at very good place and easily connected to roads.

It is said that the idol here is made up of an alloy consisting of 8 metals called Ashtadhatu . The idol is believed to have a special rotating mechanism which enables it to rotate in a specific angle.

Decent temple…have the Biggest Durga Idol made of 8 Metals(Astadhatu) but dont go for bhog during durga puja… management is totally a group of thieves…

One of the best Durga Mandir in Kolkata, early morning time is best time to visit. Also if you want to see how the original idol in 23 Palli Durga Mandir looks like, enter the room where Lord Shivas idol is placed and look at right side of idol. Inside temple there is also Radha Krisha idols that always welcome you with smiling faces.

This is the original print of 23 Palli Durga Idol. I bought this print during the Durga Puja of 1978 from the pandal. It was a special idol, as rumor spread around Kolkata that Maa Durga was crying during the Baran ceremony of Bijoya Dashami. Hence, the idol was never taken away and was restored with Ashta-Dhatu and is still displayed in 23 Palli Durga Mandir for all to see.

I love this place as I have visited this temple so many times from my childhood that I really dont have a count. Although I am not a local resident but my place is actually not quite far from this temple. Moreover my father has grown up in this locality, so he has got a soft corner for this area. My father used to take me and my sister here from our very childhood. As I grew up, I too personally like visiting this temple. Visiting this place during the Durga Puja at least once is kind of a family routine for us. I really dont know what attracts me to this temple but it does have some kind of attraction of its own. Although as a temple it is absolutely plain and simple looking, almost with no architectural design and beauty. But this place is clean and the Durga idol is the basic and the main attraction of this temple.

23 palli is One of the oldest Durga Puja Samiti club.Long ago this club do normal puja on harish Mukherjee road.They occupied the land and installed a maa durga temple.This is the only Durga temple in Kolkata. Inside temple one Shivling and one Radha Govind temple also there.This is clearly visible from Harish Mukherjee Road.

Used to visit this place alot during my childhood. A temple dedicated to goddess Durga. Prayers are held every evening and mornings. It is also located centrally and easily accessible from the road. However there is no parking if you are taking your car or bike.
