National Gems School was established in 1968 by the Late Ganesh Prasad Khanna at 629, Diamond Harbour Road, Kolkata 700 034. He was ambitious with the desire to impart education to all segments of society. By 1993, the school was upgraded to class 8 and was balanced at a delicate stage of obtaining affiliation from a recognised body.   It was then that a trust was formed by the name of Shaw Education Foundation at the initiation of the Late Narayan Shaw and Mr. Sudip Kumar Khanna.   Since then the junior and the senior section of the school is known as National Gems Higher Secondary School. In the next few years the school grew at a phenomenal rate and has made its mark in the field of school education.   The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, since 1995.

This is not a school rather a torment centre. Students are taught higher standard subjects and syllabus is not decided at the beginning of a term.The students are subjected to lot of pressure and the teaching staffs are not up to the mark.This is a genuine review .There is no lies in this review nor I belong to a demotivator group

Very good school in South Kolkata up to 12th class with two different Junior and Senior Building. Up to class 4 at James Long Sarani and from class 5 at Dr A K Paul Road (Diamond Harbour Road) with a Basketball ground and tiffin canteen.

Best school in this area in all respects and school fees is minimum as compare to the other schools with same standard.
