One of the most spectacular, historical and revered places of Halishahar is Ramprasad Vita. It is located very close to the famous Rasmoni Ghat in Halishahar. It is the birth place of devotee Ramprasad, where mother Kali is worshiped. During Kali Puja, a large number of visitors flock here from far and wide. However, the temple is closed except for the opening time. There are arrangements of bhog(prasad) but you have to buy tickets in advance. If you have time, you can go once you feel better.🛕🛕🛕

Its a very calm place. Its one of the places where religious reformer Sadhak Ramprasad pays devotion to Goddess Kali.

It is a good place but do not expect more after seeing photoes in google map. The people of this temple are bound to strict rules. Photography is not allowed at that place. Rickshaw and travel vehicles are very costly there. Roads are in very bad conditions. Water is not good. Keep carry your water from station or home.

Kabiranjan Ramprasad Sen( 1723 - 1775) was born at Kumarhatta(Now Halisahar). He was a great worshipper of Goddess Kali . He composed number of poems in praise of his Goddess.His most famous compilations are Kabiranjan Vidyasunder, Sree Sree Kalikirtan&Sree Sree Krishnakirtan.The place in Halisahar where he was Enlightened is now called as Ramprasads Vite.

His life has been the subject of many stories depicting his devotion to, and relationship with, Kali. Ramprasads literary works include Vidyasundar, Kali-kirtana, Krishna-kirtana and Shaktigiti.Ramprasad is credited with creating a new compositional form that combined the Bengali folk style of Baul music with classical melodies and kirtan. The new style took root in Bengali culture with many poet-composers combining folk and raga-based melodies, mixing every common style of music from classical to semi-classical and folk. His songs are sung today, with a popular collection—Ramprasadi Sangit (Songs of Ramprasad)—sold at Shakta temples and pithas in Bengal.

Halisahar is famous for Kali temple of Sadhak Ramprasad. Temple place is known as Ramprasader vite. Nice ambience with religious atmosphere a must visit. Plenty of buses and local trains are available to reach Halisahar station. One can hire auto or paddle rickshaw to reach Ramprasader vite. Overnight stay is a problem as there is no hotel etc however municipal guesthouse is there which can accomodate for day stay. Daily puja takes place timing 7.30 a.m to 12 noon and in the evening 4.30 p.m to 8 p.m. Bhog Prasad distribution at 12.30 p.m but coupon must be obtained by 10 a.m. Special functions-- Annakut -- 26 January then Shyamapuja -- on the day of Kalipuja and Pratistha Dibas -- 15 October. I like the place. Maintenance and upkeep require some improvement.
