West Bengal fire and emergency service headquarters in Kolkata.

It is Headquarters of WBF&ES, maintained by West Bengal Govt Ministry of Fire and Emergency Services. Presently the name of Honbl Minister is Sujit Basu. Its became a landmark itself.

It is the headquarters of Fire Brigade. In case of any fire reported they arrange sending fire engines either from the local office or from themselves as is exigent. They always try their best to do fast. All staffs are cordial and cooperative.

West Bengal Fire Service is the state owned service that attends fire/rescue calls throughout the Indian state of West Bengal, including the city of Kolkata. The fire service consists of 95 fire stations in 11 divisions. There are 7,500 personnel with over 350 fire appliances at their disposal.The Fire Service in West Bengal is the oldest Fire Service in the country. Calcutta Fire Brigade and Bengal Fire Service were amalgamated in 1950 to form the organisation. Fire Service Act was enacted in 1950 and amended in 1996 with inclusion of fire prevention and Fire Safety Rules. 103 fire stations are in operation. About 8000 Fire Force with over 350 fire appliances are in service.

Would like to convey my gratitude and respect towards the excellent and selfless service rendered by our Fire Brigade team. We had a sevier fire break out condition in our residentual area and called the Fire Brigade Headquarter team for help at 1am, the entire team reached the venue within 5 mins of our call and in the next 30 mins there were 5 fire control unit support together with the DMG team support and the support of our KP team. They all worked in an unbelievable synchronized manner and brought the entire situation under control rendering as minimal damage as possible with no life loss. Kudoes to the high spirit of the officers and salute to the selfless service they provide us day in day out to ensure our safety n security even at the cost of geopadizing their own lives. Thank youll again for everything...!!!
