A moderate hotel in Sudder Street Kolkata. The location is convenient. Tourists can easily do currency exchange as lots of money exchange shop is there. The service level is moderate. Havent tried the food though. Rooms are pretty average. Requires more Cleanliness. Room curtains also need improvement. Cost is convenient.

This is a good Budget Hotel option in the heart of Calcutta.The staff is very nice. The rooms are relatively spacious and clean. The interior especially the air conditioning looks a bit worn and is surely not modern but fulfills the job and is functional.There is free breakfast here. Option is limited to some cereal with milk and toast and jam. Packaged orange juice is being served as well. For Indians they also serve a local food that was not given to me as non Indian.

This place is for those who want two things in kolkata: 01- New Market; 02-A decent stay within the budget. Overall i stayed here several times, staff behaviour is good, they are guest friendly. Traditional rooms are big but lil bit old where modern wing is quite okay.

Disgusting HotelI have never stayed in disgusting like this hotel, the damp smell, the dirty room, the room same like never clean for 1 year, its full of dusts especially floor, also everything in this room are very dirty example microwave looks like never clean for next guest and have mold inside.Staffs in front desk are so rude and do not have service mind.The location is the only good point.

I stayed at the old part of the hotel. it was just wastage of money. the room rent should be not more than 1000 rupees. i booked my room by agoda and it cost 3000 rupees. the pictures in the agoda was totally different in reality. they will provide basic breakfast. in my room i got old fashioned CRT TV. they took one full day to set the set-up box for the TV. so dont expect anything extraordinary from this hotel. oh, the hotel staff were good.

Room quality, service is bad. The behavior of the front desk staffs are rude and not friendly. The complimentary breakfast has no variety and food quality is also low. The room rent is high comparing to condition and services of the hotel. I am not recommending anyone to stay here.

Adjacent to Kolkata new market. Service quality is good, price is reasonable though amenities are become too old as compared to what they charge their customers. You can get all food stores, liquor shop, juice bar, snacks bar around the hotel. Also u can get yellow taxi cab 24/7 with or without help of the hotel. Bangladesh bus stop is 5-7 minutes walking distance & Chitpur railway station is 1 hour taxi drive.

I love the place and area. They have improved there breakfast than last few months. But the room bedsheets and quilts, towels need to be changed . Those became very old. Other than that cleanliness of the room were ok. Canteen needs renovation. Please do so we can always stay here. I would request the staff to be little more smiling. Badal and Laskar is good. The reception staff were all very nice this time great improvement.

This hotel is located in Sudir Road which is very close to historic new market. Just opposite of new market fire brigate. Neat and clean room. It has a small restaurant. Food quality is good.Other indian and bangali restaurant is around. Very conveniant place to stay for food lover and people who love to shop.

Stayed in both the blocks: new and old.Room Layout - very basic and bit old.Breakfast - Average with less of variety.AC - fine.Front Desk- most unfriendly, lacks in manners and suffers in attitude.They possibly have taken guests as granted even being rude to the guest.Staff - helpful.Location - is plus if u set shopping as ur priority and plan it to do nearby/around.Room Fare - Pricy coz u can get other standard hotels at a cheaper price.Concluding Remarks - Ill not stay again for sure. U may avail it only if u r hardpressed to stay in Sudder Street. Else, better try other hotel.

This is not a 3 star hotel.. their receptionist confirmed it to us. We have become astonished reaching there.. it was terrible. Room and toilet were dirty. Everythings of the room were so old , just looks like 2 nd hand . Even the ac, oven, cushion everythings are in bad condition. Staffs are not cordial. But the price is high. If u want to waste ur money then u may go there otherwise u sould avoid it.

The Astoria was b acceptable, but required a fresh coat of paint, polish on the wooden furniture, clean corridors, clean passageways....A smile on the face of management.

One of the worst hotels if not the worst in Kolkata. Rude staff and dirty sheets with stains. The staffs behave extremely rudely and still expect tips from you. If you are a foreigner they will abuse you in Hindi.

My father found a rat in our room. :vAbsolutely the worst service Ive ever seen, the people are as bad as they come. They wont let us have a key to our room. Was forced to stay for two days as there werent any other hotels around the area where we wanted to stay.
