This is a combination of foodgrains, grocery and stationary markets. There are many fish and meat shops inside. More or less 100 shops are there. Price is in little higher side. One can find almost every household item in this market. Most of the time, the adjacent road remains very crowded.

Road is as congested as before near this market in baguiati.People are stamping on each other to get their products for household purposes. Roads are narrow but each and every shop is live and ready to sell their marketable goods. From food to iron tools everything is salable in chawal patty more. Rickshaw pullers are all over the place for road dwellers. No public bus run through this road. Auto stand is just near the market gate. Varieties of fresh fish, mutton, chickens are available in this Baguiati bazaar which is the main attraction of many non veg people and the prices are reasonable as compared to other big market in Kolkata, like Manicktala bazaar, Gariahat, Jadavpur, Ruby, Kasba etc. One can get fresh vegetables with reasonable prices too....... Almost all grocery items are available in this market and the price is also reasonable....... Varieties of fruits stalls are there and opposite side of this market and one can get it with a reasonable price....... Varieties of shops like Sweet, Bakeries, clothes, hardwares, stationary, Cosmetics, Tobacco products and cold drinks etc etc are situated adjacent to this area where one can get all types of household items ranging from sweet to saris.......and prices are pocket permitted....... My locality Market ,thought it is named as Chawul patty(Rice market ) but Good quality Flowers ,Dasokarma items,Fruits and Puja items are sold .It has a nice Temple with a Dakshinakalika clay Bigraha(changed once a year) ,saluted by almosted all the visitors .
