Sorry to say...this was a totally unexpected experience from a pediatric ophthalmologist.I guess, unless you mention you yourself are a Doctor, it seems, in India, u have to accept rude behaviour starting from staff, to the doctor.We were recommended to visit Dr Lav, by our treating pediatrician.... unfortunately, this experience has proven why people from Kolkata prefer to go outside Kolkata for treatment!!!!Being a Surgeon myself, I would never ever be in a rush to shunt patients/family away, nor would I allow my staff to behave in the manner we faced!We all know that kids will cry...but that doesnt mean..or give the right to the staff to shout at parents!!If you have too many patients, kindly limit the appointments so that you can spend sufficient time with the already worried parents....of pediatric patients.This may be a routine occurrence/ophthalmic problem for the staff and doctor, but not for the parents...I am sure you wont like some other Doctor to behave in this way with you!I would not recommend the concerned doctor, from my end.Rest is for people to visit at their own peril and decide themselves...

I myself a doctor knows the importance of empathy , counseling and hand holding, when it comes to paediatric cases. I had gone to show my 13 months daughter and to my surprise when parents are already anxious , doctor needs to empathize with them , but he was not wiling to talk more than a minute . Such a cold and callus attitude of doctor and staff . Definitely I will not recommend to anyone .

Horrible experience. Went to pediatric doctor for my daughters checkup but the doctor didnt check his visual equity himself. He took just 2 second to sign a prescription which was made by his optometrist. I went for pediatric checkup but got a prescription prescribed by his assistant. Doctor doesnt know how to indulge a non cooperative kid and neither tried to explain the problems.Its nothing but a business place. I have been to hospitals like cloud 9 for pediatric eye checkups where doctor gave lot of time to understand the power by being playful with the kid.

Dr Lav has been my ophthalmologist for more than 10 yrs now. Last month got my Lasik eye surgery done by him under his expert supervision. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient, polite, an outstanding listener, a good human being, a true professional and more. Immensely satisfied with the diagnosis and overall experience, cant describe it in words.I highly recommend him for all things related to your eyes. Dr Lav this review is not for you but rather for your newly opened Netralayam - Mukundupur. You need to manage it properly. So much crowd and very poor staff be it reception or optometric. I have serious doubt if these staffs ( optometrist) are at all trained to handle children. The staff repeatedly asks a 4 year old kid to answer questions only and that too in parallel discussing with other staffs. You have really made a very small room to put 4 optometrists and they are just doing circus. Next I will say the reception is not able to manage the proper sequence of appointment order. Please bring more transparency about the order and display or make that sequence public somehow. I hope you will take care of this.

Went today for my daughter where time was 3.30 pm and we went before time they called us at 5 where they are telling that was your reporting time....whts that!!!! Heard first time this....and after doing test and all went to Dr finally where Dr Lav did not even talk to my daughter not even asked me whats the problem tell me...just signed the prescription and said make her wear glasses follow up after 3 months....thts it !!!!! So it was not at all upto the mark....better assistant can take the fee and not to allow him in clinic as I did not see any activity of Dr.....and paying 700/- which is really costly for an eye test.....

Everything organized systematically and digitally. From taking the appointment to consult the doctor I have never find any problems. You can choose your slot through online appointment as per your convenience and if its changed from doctor side you will be notify so that you can plan accordingly. Only thing still they have some paper pen work which they can make digital in future.

I noticed that he is very much careful while watching a patient. His advice is very precise and in tandem with modern developments in medical science.

He is a very good man. Only a good man can be a great physician. He never prescribes a single medicine if it is needed.

I am a doctor ( General Physician).I came to Dr. Lav Kochgaway for my 06 yrs old son for more advanced,updated and extraordinary treatment of his eye problem. The Optometrist (May be Dr. Lavs assistant) checked him and wrote down his eye power and sent it to Mr. Lav Kochgaway. They scolded my little child who is really very polite on nature as he was not reading the letters properly!The matter of upset for me was the doctor didnt check his visual equity himself. He took just one minute to sign a prescription which was made by his optometrist. Then why i paid 700 rupees for the consultatoon fee to get treatment from an optometrist?Its nothing but a business place.Its not a place to treat a patient from core of heart from a so called renowned doctor!

Indeed a great doctor. But time taken to complete the checkup is ridiculously long. Also there is no proper seating arrangement in the waiting area.

I would like to thank Dr. Lav for all the care in which he has seen my parents over a decade. His patients feel extremely comfortable with him and his expertise is very high. Highly recommended.

We need to wait for like 2 hours to meet the doctor as the patient needs to be given eye drops and assessed by assistant doctors first. So keep 2-3 hours of time in hand for thorough check-up. Although everything was done in a very systematic manner I felt there was space crunch issue......too many patients visit and not enough arrangement for the same.The doctor is quite experienced and quick in assessing the problem but we expected more from the doctor.......like to educate us more about our childs colour blindness issue..... what type of colour blindness he has?? .......whether its a strong one or just a mild one and its effect on our childs daily school life,precautions,tips etc etc. Anyways, he has asked us to visit after a year and adviced us to decide about my sons future job options accordingly as he is only 8 years old.

I am in touch with Dr. Luv since 2015 for my children. I found well behaved, no unnecessary medicine.I visited minto park v v eye foundation which MANAGEMENT is well organised but VIP baguihati management is worst.Minto park management always say take time atleast 2 hrs in hand and they always complete work within 2 hrs. Bur VIP they called us 12.40 p.m. reached on time made card and then wait for 1st check up 1.15 hrs and 2nd check up again after 1.30 hrs. Total 2. 50 hrs. MANAGEMENT thinks about it, kids cant seat for longer like us. I asked attendant regarding delays but he didnt even listen my words also, I was surprised for this unprofessional attitude by that attendant. Therefore I would suggest to visit Minto Park. Because we need Dr. Luv .

1.Am Dr.Pranabesh Mondal,when my daughter was 20months old,I had noticed that she’s suffering from Intermittent Esotropia,am from Gen.Medicine,consulted with my Opthalmologist Friends and I had visited Disha(Barrackpur) but not satisfied and had gone to LVPEI,and some of my friends recommended Dr.Luv Kochgaway.I was desperate to find out the pathology behind this Intermittent Esotropia.Finally LVPEI and Dr.Luv Kochgaway diagnosed that this is “ACCOMOTATIVE ESOTROPIA” and my nightmare of operative treatment had gone.Now am visiting only to B.B.Foundation and my daughter is under treatment of Dr.Luv Kochgaway.2.And Dr.Luv Kochgaway is extraordinarily humble person too,lots to learn from him about dealing with patients and patient party too.3.Best Eye Hospital in West Bengal.

If I can I would give 0 ratings...as a children doctor the least he could do is explain the issue to the parent..but he is apparently so rude that his staff does the talking for him..I had to keep asking him questions to solve my query..he did not even give a proper diagnosis..waited for almost two hours and he just saw us for less than a min..

Very good doctor for children in Kolkata. I think he is the best. He is not like other greedy doctors in Kolkata. Im visiting him for last 5 year. I went to LV Prasad Hyderabad last year. They also appraised Dr Lavs way. The toughest part is to get appointment at Minto Park. For this reason Im visiting Baguihati centre for last 2 years. Ill ask the BB Eye to make the appointment easy for people.

I am Baruneswar Bose from Delhi (age 68 years).When I first visited Dr. Lav Kochgaway on the advise of Dr. Saurab Sinha at BB Eye Foundation for the catarac operation of my only serviving right eye and got the consultancy done, I could havd an inner feeling that I have come to the right Doctor for the operation. Initially at the outset I was quite afraid of going for the operation of the detoriating vission condition of my right eye with hard brown catarac at Kolkata right away from Delhi because I had already lost the vision of my left eye completely after the densed and hard catarac operation at Max Super Facility Hopital at New Delhi. After consulting 7-8 well known and ecperienced Doctors at Delhi and Kolkata including Dr. Lav and finally I came down to Kolkata from Delhi to get the operation done.
