Peaceful, quiet ,good place to stay.Rooms are okay.Little maintenance is required.

Though rooms and structure are in poor condition but the staff is amazing. Super helpful and always ready to cater to your smallest of your needs. Very jovial and helpful and proactive. Only downside of marine club is lack of funding and less foot fall!

Availability is there but quality is not there. Cleanliness is good, well ventilated , spacious accomodation.

Nice for seafarers... But if you want concessions on rooms and foods... Then you have to take CDC ( SEAFARERS ID) DOCUMENTS.

Year on year when every one improves standards and change with time,This spacious Club is in pathetic condition.Unsafe drinking water, Pathetic condition of washrooms.Over years its standad has dettoriated and is in pathetic condition.

I havent stayed in Marine Club but iv been living in the adjoining building for 3 yrs which is actually a part of marine club but has been rented to our hospital which is used as the hostel for nursing students...

Good place for stay for short period at cheapest price in Kolkata for mariners and you only need a CDC for stay, rooms @Rs130-RS1000, food is cheap in officers mess and good too.

Horrible experience , I opted for RS260 room,, window was broken,table lamp was not working,chair handle was broken and the bed was the biggest disappointment the mattress on the bed was like 10yr old traditional mattress and it was solid hard like rock and When I say rock I mean it .Although I was tired because of journey,I couldn’t sleep on it whole night.

Its cheapest place to stay here but the building is too old and its dangerous to stay over there maintenance is zero and also bathrooms are at worst

A good place to stay for mariner

Today 6-March-2021, came here after 4 years, situation become pathetic than 2016, roof top plasters falling, Toilet flushes not present, Bars closed, Water not potable, room cleaning not regular, welcomed to room number 45 with garbage inside bucket with flies & mosquitoes. Staffs telling theyve not got wages for 4 months, cleaning staffs reduced by 90%, Club will be shut shortly, nearby shops telling no body cares for Marine club, its become unhealthy & not safe to stay.

Its actually nice place but as port trust is not taking interest to uplift the facilities,but one day all will be well,now a days here catering and pool services stopped due to covid.

This is the real place for Mariners / Seafarers to relax.Have a glass of beer or a cup of tea.Huge rooms /family rooms/AC suits to stay at a throwaway price compared to Hotels, when you come to Kolkata for various reasons like appearing for exams, attending classes, joining ships, or came for a vacation etc etc .And for locals , come for a relaxing break, Swimming pool, billiards board, TV hall, bar, canteen ~ where one of the cheapest and tastiest food available in a peanuts price compared to the portion they serve, you can hire the huge hall and the lawn for your any family occasion like marriage, Reception, Birthday party etc etc (But please dont use it for Shraddha ).How to come? Cross khidderpore Dock opening bridge towards ITC cigarette factory, turn right to Nimak mahal road adjacent to a petrol pump, go past port pilots quarters and then a church, after that there it is.... Name written at the gate itself.Staff HERE is very very gentle and cordial, not like Mumbai or chennai Marine club who are mostly found to be very rude and ignorant.SO, Enjoy & Relax Bro & sis from the Shipping fraternity.BON VOYAGE.

This place was built for Mariners coming to Kolkata for short stay. Many old building here. Very spacious. I visited this place for one of my friends reception party. I understood that they rent the place for family functions. However the buildings and place is not well maintained. Buildings need repair and paint. Much can be done to make it an awesome place.

Good Neat place. Cheap as well. No too much noise and neither too crowded. Have everything of general requirements starting from club, bar, canteen, rest room, swimming pool etc

Stayed there for a couple of days. Rooms were clean and spacious. It is really cost effective if you are looking for a room at a cheaper price.Cons : only for mariners and location is a bit outer.

A place Mariners can call home. Quaint and peaceful. No noise and no one to disturb you. The price of a night stay is as cheaper than a pizza. The building​ resembles the British style architecture and have about 20 ft ceiling. Feels exclusive since its only for merchant marine personal. Frequent buses connect to other places in city.My one star is missing due to lack of maintenance and upkeep of this building.

The place is shabby and needs immediate renovation. Outside the hustle and bustle of city. So there is really nothing u can do here. But that adds to the plus. Good for studies and u get rooms readily available unlike Mumbai.

Old infrastructure. not well maintained. but still a good place to stay at minimum cost. swimming pool not regularly cleaned.

During our worst stage of life we come here. Only for studying Nd corse. Its like hell for seaman. Room out here are good. We get dormitory,Room AC and non AC. There is bear bar food out here is good. Just price little high. Workers always look for money even in work they r supposed to do every day.

I cant say its pretty satisfactory. Although the place is cheaper to stay or to eat, the mentainance is poor. The lawn is not mentained . At the swimming pool boiler suit and the life jackets are dirty , torn and broken. In the restaurant inside we ordered for food and they denied because they said they would be busy for boarders.

Paying limited amount what more can you expect. Different mariners meet up belonging from a variety of culture. Nice place if you like meeting up new people.

Staff is very helpful, repair of building and A. C. and electric wiring need to be done, specially ceiling leakage and falling concrete can lead to major accident. Iron girders are rusty now, can lead to an accident.. But still quality as per money paid is satisfactory..

Good place for Mariner...as you get the accommodation at reasonable price..and accomodations as well all other facilities including food is good. You have also got other facilities like i.e canteen, cafeteria,saloon etc.

I felt very sad as club is not being maintained properly. Now its time for DG shipping, shipping companies, west bengal government, MUI club and merchant navy officer to generate sufficient fund to upgrade the club infrastructure. Please coordinate and do something as club is dying.

This place needs a serious attention as it is well maintained since British era , many development has been neglected due to mis management and over looking the interest of Seafarers .Canteen needs a serious workout with food options and services.Water facilities must be checked for quality as there is no RO water unit.Washrooms and Bathroom needs a serious attention for repairs.Rooms needs repair touch.However it is the cheapest place in price to reside in Kolkata for merchant seamans as what it is meant for.Port Trust must check this and provide a better solution in maintenance and restoration the facilities for Mariners.

Nice and cheap home stays for marines visiting kolkata for work purposes. Recreation facilities are also provided which adds flavour to this place.

The club is on a pathetic state, God knows where the funds are being siphoned off. Place stinks.. plaster in rooms is peeling off.. wires are hanging freely.. Sad to see the club in such a sorry state.

This is basically a Mariner’s club which offers discounted accommodation , built in early 70’s. Has 2 bars , one for officers and one for crew or locals at down stairs. Has variety of room options , has pool , only issue is maintenance , hopefully all staff are cooperative but they think it there own property so service is hampered .
