It is not a good college. It is an average college (B+ NAAC Grade). It is not 4.1 rating college, it is maybe 3.5 rating college under WBSU.

NEVER TAKE ADMISSION IN MA LEVEL. The HOD of EDUCATION dept...he does not know how to behave with a student and with their guardian...I do not think that he is a teacher...DURING the class instead of teaching he just talking about different students and what they do and shearing his life story.I JUST ASTONISHED TO THINK HOW THESE PEOPLE GOT JOB IN COLLEGE.I REQUEST EVERYONE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ADMISSION IN MA.

This college is also known as Birati college. This is the only college in Birati area. This college is very near to Uttar Dum Dum Vidyapith For Girls school. You have to get down at College More bus stop (Near Birati Big Bazaar) at M.B. Road. The college is about five minutes walking distance from M.B. Road.

This is the only college in Birati area. Some years ago , the students of this college was not so good in studies. But now the situation is evolving for the good faculties and other improved infrastructure. They are now scoring well. The college is under West Bengal State University. The school is just beside Uttar Dum Dum Vidyapith.

Study, faculty everything is ok,but the worst is administration, they are rude, arrogant, they are typical govt employee like creatures who skip and avoid work, no matter if a students future is in danger.they will harasse you for every documentation, even only for any enquiry.so please try to avoid studying here if you want smooth service without getting your feet, mind hurt.

Mrinalini Datta Mahavidyapith is a fifty year young and highly popular co-educational degree college affiliated to West Bengal State University (Barasat). Situated at a mere five minutes walking distance from the Birati Railway station, the college is well connected to Barasat, Belghoria & Dakhineswar via train, bus and auto routes. In fact, the Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Dumdum, is only twenty minutes from here. MDM offers 16 honours, 19 general, 2 professional degree courses at the under-graduate level and 1 degree course at the post-graduate level.MDM took its first humble steps on 5th March, 1964, when it was established by Birati Siksha Samsad to provide affordable and quality higher education to the community. Initially it catered primarily to the students of economically challenged households of rural and semi-urban areas in and around Birati. In 1964, India was just in its 17th year of independence. Gigantic obstacles in the form of unemployment, illiteracy, and superstition blocked its path to progress. Education was the only way the youth could be empowered to build its future and shape Indias destiny. To this effect, MDM took its first baby steps with just 95 students and 7 educationists. At that time the college classes were conducted on the compound of the adjoining school - Uttar Dumdum Vidyapith for girls. The only course option available was Humanities.Fifty years hence we have three spacious buildings, nineteen departments and eighteen thousand students. MDM has emerged as a successful college today. Its blue walls stand proudly in their place on Vidyapith Road, Kolkata-51. Today the student pool is no longer limited to Birati, but has reached as far as extreme North and extreme South. The past fifty years bear testimony to the persistent struggle the college has undergone to spread higher education to the masses.
