My experience with Calcutta International School was pathetic. I went 5 times to the school and waited 3 months to get administrator for the interview for my daughters admission. During interview I faced bunch of stupid questions from bunch of shameless middle-aged women administrators and finally they declined to admit my daughter for a non-sense reason. They declined the right of basic education of a child. The day they declined, I went to South City International School and my daughter got admitted in the same day in 2 hours. My daughter studied 2 years in South City and now we are back to USA.I felt humiliated as if I am a second class citizen in India. I felt that the school is just like a super-slow bureaucrat government department, only difference is that the building walls are clean in one case and dirty in other.The school board is greedy. The amount of admission money they asked is ridiculous and shows that the school is interested only in profit making business.Finally I thank God that my daughter did not get admitted in Calcutta International School. In South City, she got great atmosphere, great teachers, great administration and extraordinary curriculum.I sincerely suggest do not admit your children in Calcutta International School.

Excellent method of teaching, learning by doing. Student - teacher relationship is very congenial. Its like second home to children.

No extra stress on anything. Academics is dealt with in a very simple but effective way. they pay attention to the students dreams and what they want to do. Balance between extra-curricular activities and academics is perfect. Even though the school is not in the is not the most affordable place, it is worth it.

I went over there for admission for my daughter. It has been more than 3 weeks since i paid the registration fees of Rs5000 and i am yet to hear back from the school regarding when the test will be.The lady at the admission office was veey grumpy and shouting at the other staff on front of visitors. Also was extremely reluctant to share the syllabus and did that only after the registration fees was paid.Not sure what is the big deal about keeping the syllabus so secretive especially when it is available in public domain for all other schools. They call themselves Kolkata s oldest international school but no actual international school would make a student wait for more than 3 weeks(and still waiting) after the registration fees is paid.

Although its a great School for IB, however some esteemed teachers here like Pratik Shome indulge in private coaching to students of MHS & other IB schools, which doesnt conform to IB guidelines. He also gives out questions to his students at high prices, secretly!

CIS moved to its premises at Anandapur, Kolkata in November 2006. It is 15 km from Kolkata airport, 15 minutes from Salt Lake, 10 minutes from Peerless Hospital and 2 minutes from Ruby General Hospital. Classes are spread over 60,000 sq ft with another 4,143 sq ft demarcated for an auditorium in a 2-acre land area. There is an integrated science laboratory for the junior classes and separate Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories for the seniors. There is a computer laboratory with broadband access for teachers and students, music room, art room, cafeteria with indoor and outdoor seating and a library.

Lovely school. been here since nursery. The best teachers teach us over here. This school helps you to focus on wat u r good at. spent months trying to get admission in other schools but this school gave me admission in 1 day. best thing about the school is that each class unlike most of the other schools had only 20-25 students in each class and the teachers give everyone their attention. This school is full of artists and sportsmen. joining this school is the best thing u can do. so please join

This is a very innovative, maintained and well organized school compared to other schools in this city. The school might be small in terms of area but there are alot of opportunities for ppl who want to do something different in life

Cool learning environment for students .....perfect teachers

Our very first interaction with the school was during the admission process. We were impressed with the manner in which we were greeted and treated right from the moment we signed the register at the gates till the point we were taken into the cabin of the Admission Officer - Mrs. Kakoli Guha ! Mrs. Guha was so gracious, cordial and polite and patiently guided us seamlessly through the whole procedure.Mr. Afzal Ali - Student Officer, who was so charming and a thorough gentleman, also deserves special mention for his caring and committed attitude , not forgetting his infectious smile that bonds him with the child almost instantly .We felt so much at ease with all these wonderful people . They were the first members of the CIS community that we actually interacted with and what struck us was, if they were so good then , the rest must be even better ! And as the saying goes- The first impression is the last impression , we were impressed !We are so glad that our child has been admitted into CIS .We know for sure that she will be happy here and enjoy every moment of the learning process.It has been a little over 5 weeks now that our child has been attending school at CIS and she has summed up her experience in one word -AWESOME .Now doesnt that speak volumes. . . .!!
