Location: Just beside CITY CENTER:1, SALT LAKE. Lots of mean to reach from any corner of the city. A very peaceful ambience.About the college: its an excellent college with respect to staff & faculties behaviour. The teachers and clerical staff are soooo supportive that its hard to believe that they are government employees.This college is affiliated to west bengal state university, so they give marks as you write, and they wouldnt cut your marks unnecessarily.

It was formerly affiliated to the University of Calcutta. Apart from undergraduate courses, the college offers postgraduate courses in Anthropology, Botany, Chemistry, Education, Mircrobiology and Zoology.

Lovely place & good atmosphere here.All the floors are clean & under properly maintenance. Lifts are available for teachers and students & services are good.College campus is not so large in area but it is full of green & less crowded.Teachers & non teaching staffs are very helpful for students & friendly.Moreover this is a great college under WBSU for studying.There is no transportation problem to reach the college bus & auto are available all college time.Instead of beside the main road the college is less crowdy.

I am a second year student of this institution! Its one of the great College! With a helpful union team! And the place is too peaceful! The college has a good library! The , teachers here are like family! And they help! Lot! The ground is huge! And the college rooms are clean too! Labs of the science section are good! And always being updated!

Very beautiful college campus & there atmosphere is so good. Each teacher also great care for each students. I am a student of B.Sc. in Economics Hounours. Our all teachers behaviour are very good & they teaches us so easily. Especially, our HOD is the mindblowing teacher. So, we can easily understand all things. This college is also peaceful area here is no crowded. I love my college and I cannot forget my college and my teachers....☺☺☺💙💙💙

I am a student of BNC. My department of economics is the best experience of my college career . According to my experience, this is one of the best student-friendly colleges in Kolkata . All my professors are very helpful. You need no private tutor to secure a good marks in exams.The college is located at a nice place. This is exactly near the City Centre Metro Station which will be opened for public soon.

Here chemistry departments professors are superbly & practical laboratory is most interesting.Bidhannagar College started on 25 June 1984 in a small building at BF-142, Salt Lake, Kolkata 700064 with a student strength of 52. The founder principal was Dr.Subes Chandra Sarkar .[2] Undergraduate courses in Mathematics and Economics began from the day of opening, while the Physics and Chemistry departments became functional from the academic session of 1985–86. Honours subjects offered in the Humanities were English, Bengali, History, Political Science and Philosophy. Honours courses in Anthropology, Botany and Microbiology opened during the 2002–2003 session. M.Sc. courses in Zoology and Microbiology started in 2004. In 2009 Department of Education started their journey.With the gradual increase in the number of departments and the corresponding student strength, the original building became inadequate.[2] A new, larger building at EB 2, Salt Lake, Kolkata 700064 was constructed on 7.5 acres (30,000 m2).

The key feature that make this college different from others is that it has a really peaceful environment. Faculty and staff members are very helpful. The playground is superb, the new library is outstanding with its expanded reading room.

I am a student of economics honours in this college... I have found taht the faculty is very good...The teachers always help us....u dont need any tutions if u daily attend the classes....

Godawful college that does not care about the students future.The professors are incredibly irregular, they never come on time and rarely take classes.The labs are in pathetic condition. Either they dont have the required equipment for the practical or the equipment that they do have doesnt work properly.If you dont speak Bengali, dont even think about joining this college. Even the English classes are taken in Bengali here.If you want to take Physics under WBSU, go for Barasat Government College, Bhairab Ganguly College, Barrackpore Rastraguru Surendranath College, ACP College,The Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College , Sarojini Naidu College. These are some of the good ones.

Dont get carried away by the outlook of the campus. Of course, it looks great, but there is room for a lot of improvement in teaching. Dont expect anything world class from the departments (except Chemistry). I am a physics graduate from here, and for me the experience of third year was quite disgraceful. The campus is free from political hooligans which is a plus, but also the faculty seem to be naive at times which is a little disappointing. Otherwise, everything (including accessibility, library and canteen) is good enough.

A great college to study for undergraduate courses. The college is near CC1, and near to Bidhannagar Road Railway Station....... I am a student of statistics here, one of the best department in BNC. The faculty members are so good... Notes for the admission seekers, although the college is under WBSU, atleast in statistics, I can assure that the standard of teaching and overall experiences here will be unbelievably good....

I was quite disappointed seeing the negative reviews here. Bidhannagar College(BNC) is one of the best colleges for Science and Humanity under West Bengal State University (Barasat). Im currently studying in Physics Hons in the same college. Teachers here are very good and highly qualified because its a government college. Moreover the teachers are friendly too. Theyre less like a teacher and more a coach. The Physics department HOD and all others of the department teachers are very helpful. Regular Seminar are held in regular intervals of time. Students are given enough opportunity to express themselves. The laboratory are quite good. The classrooms are also quite good. And the students Union is very friendly. The college is free from political problems which is a plus point. Regular classes are held. But if students dont attend the class, its their fault. 75% attendance is required for sitting in examination. The location is good. One can arrive at Bidhannagar Road railway station, then take a bus or auto from there to the college. And most importantly, the environment is excellent. Except the fact that college is under WBSU, everything is good. And WBSU is also good, but it has been an habit of students to go to CU. But every university is same that I can assure. If someone study properly, then everything is fine.✌

Appearances are deceptive....so dont judge the college by its looks....no general degree courses as it is a hons college so if you fail in hons subject u have to repeat or leave the college. Getting admitted in another college is very difficult...lots of formalities. Even general(pass) subjects are not taught here. Its under a very bad university named west bengal state university which does not check the pass subjects papers properly. No students in college......in our chemistry department only 17 got admitted in 1st year only 6 passed the exam of 1st year and 4 passed the exam for 2nd year. Chemistry dept HOD is AKS sir is the only one taking classes....practicals are not taught properly. Physical chemistry has only one teacher who keeps shouting all the time. Plus point is that it has a playground and a luxurious building like a five star hotel but from academics point of view a bogus college.

Big campus with a sizeable playground. The Faculties are helpfull. College has a more peaceful environment (less political infringement) compared to other colleges.Annual event dhun isa great prospect of this college with good music,dancing, food and best of all, the talented musicians that perform each year.We got to see Anupam during 2014 dhun.The canteen is really not that worthwhile.Id rather go to cc hangout because its so close to our clg.Biggest advice to a fresher that Id give is to not to be a noob during the first few days. Just attend classes and then enjoy :-)
