Kalyani Railway Station situated in Sealdah- Ranaghat Main Line, Eastern Railway Zone, Its Station code is KYI in Indian Railways.Very busy station in every times because of School, college,hospital,AIIMS,Medical college,Engineering college, University and many more. You can get auto, Toto, bus, magic service to go any place of kalyani and others place from this station.Kalyanis Up direction station is Madanpur (MPJ) and Down direction station is Kanchrapara(KPA).There separate Line to Kalyani Simanta,single line section,Kalyani to Kalyani Simanta.One to Mainline Ranaghat and another Branch line to Kalyani Simanta.Kalyani to Kalyani Simanta distance is 4km and having total 4 stations, Kalyani (KYI)-Kalyani Silpanchal(KLYS)-Kalyani Ghoshpara(KLYG)and lastly Kalyani Simanta(KLYM).Kalyani is not a junction by some railway rules.Kalyani FCI is situated near the station.Goods trains enter into the FCI(Food Corporation of India) and unloading goods.Very neat and Clean Station. Total number of platform 4 of Kalyani Railway Station. Platform no. 1 for Up trains(Ranaghat, Shantipur, Krishnanagar, Gede Local and Lalgola Passenger/MEMU), platform no. 2 for locomotive/engine, sometimes down or up trains comes at platform number 2 when any problem occurred at 1 or 3 such as tracks problem or overhead wires problem or signals problem but it is so rare. Platform number no. 3 for Down trains( Sealdah,Kolkata Majerhat local/Passenger/MEMU etc) Platform no. 4 is only for Up and Down Kalyani Simanta Local. All Galloping trains stops here, not any schedule stop of Express train. An International Express train,Maitree Express(Kolkata -Dhaka- Kolkata)passing through the station. And laid out some extra lines for parking goods trains. In this station all facility available like whole platform covered by shed, having public toilet/washroom facility on all platform. Under every sheds have sitting place and fan, light, charging points all available. Announcement system available and all time staffs obey theirs duty to clean the station and passengers use dustbin. On the platform presents tree. There is lot of to say.1. No express train got a stop over here though kalyani is quite better stop. This is that kind of a city where I think maximum people can afford 👎🏼reservation booking & they quite aware of it.2. Students can face few strangers who gonna disturb you by seeking help & even ask your personal details. So aware of it👍🏼3. There is motorcycle & cycle stand by rent just beside the main entrance.👍🏼4. From this railway station one can go towards Kolkata. Lalgola is in the opposite direction. Another rail route is going deep inside Kalyani area which is known as Kalyani Simanta. If you want to go to University of Kalyani then you have to go towards Kalyani Simanta bor you can simply take a auto rickshaw form here.

It is one of the important railway stations of Sealdah - Ranaghat main line. One can enter into the heart of the kalyani city by taking branch railway trak towards Kalyani Simanta Station. This station is the gateway to reach AIIMS-Kalyani. General facilities for the passengers are readily available. The station premises is somewhat clean. You can avail plenty of public transport and food stalls near the rail station.

Avarage station ,Environment is not suitable for all people .Oh there is a big difference from other stations.Passenger can not go anywhere from plateform , if anyone go there then they will be in big trouble .( Rail lines or besides the railline)The dont want to listen you , if you say something they will hit you ( according to locals).The worst part of the station rules there have no sign 🛑 board or any guards to stop people.This a big problem for Frist time visitor .If you stand on platform No-1 the dont go your left side. ( They call that zone is SUCIDE zone)So be Safe and happy journey 🙂

Trains doesnt arrive at right time always. Also, the place is highly crowded in office-time. Be aware of pickpocket. The station is not very clean. Many small food stalls, mainly tea shop, fruit shops and snack shops are here for business. Overall, its good.

Kalyani railway station area is very large and clean.. there is plenty of seats within the station area under overhead sheds.. the booking counter is situated between platform 1 and platform 4 and remains less crowded since there are a number of booking counters.. the toilets are clean.. there are two overbridges at the both end of the stations.. also the road connectivity from the station area is very good.. the bus stand, auto stand is a few meters away from tge station..

Only one ticket counter was opened at peak hours, for thousands of passengers and. Doesnt matter which way you came, you have to make your way to the main ticket counter near no. 1 platform.. if you are from that side, its good.. but if you are from opposite side, then take an overbridge, climb the whole way over the station and reach the ticket counter at the opposite end of the station 300 meters away.

Structure and functionwise kalyani railway station is fine. But at night like after 9pm the environment of the station turns bad. For a lonely woman it gets really scary at night. After the stalls on the platforms get closed the platforms especially platform number 2,3 and 4 becomes lonely and then crossing the overbridge is also a matter of fear. And there are strange people like drunk ones are there. So there must be some invigilations or police posting should be applied.

This is very much updated railway station compared to northern railway stations. Very well connected with sealdah railway station. Up trains come at platform 1 and down trains for sealdah usually leave from platform 3 and 4.
