Sonarpur junction is always a busy junction! Its always crowded!As its a popular junction station of southern part of eastern railway Baruipur, namkhana, kakdwip, diamond harbour, canning, majher hat, sealdah etc train are frequently available here!This juncture has 4 platform! Due to corona situation all train are not available as its scheduled! peoples are waiting for hours to get trains for namkhana, kakdwip, canning, etc. But still its functional very well! Sealdah and diamond harbour trains are very frequent!

Good place total area are almost clean....cold purified water available... Lots of food stall available.. Tickets outside counters available. A small portion of 4 platforms are covered. Every every platform dont have toilets. Only platform 1 has clean toilets for man woman & handicaps . Platform 2&3 has peeing area only for man but those are not perfectly clean.

The situation here can be best described as post apocalyptic. Peopl get killed now and then while running and fighting to cross the rail track or catch trains. Meanwhile all this kinds of sellers (mainly fruits, veggies and flowers) have occupied every inch of the railway property.The situation starts getting worse from the late afternoon to evening and it becomes pathetic whenever a Sonarpur Local arrives.Yes, in Indian commerce do spill over rails and roads. But Sonarpur has gone to an extreme level. Imagine Sealdahs 80% crowd of its southern section passing through this Junction which is hundredth time smaller with basic to no public amenities, yes thats Sonarpur.Two extremely narrow overhead bridges are there, which connects the platforms, but there ARE NO INFRASTRUCTURE TO HANDLE THE MASSIVE AMOUNT OF CROWD!The callous government authorities are doing nothing to improve the situation. Recently they have constructed drains right through the middle of the Sonarpur Bazar Road!! And they kept the height elevated from either sides. I mean who does that! drains should be on either side of the roads not right in the middle!!

So Crowed platform. There are fourth station as known as Sonarpur Junction. 1 no. Platform was good. Here the Governments Railway Police. But another platform is not so well. Up train is always available in platform number 1 and local train is available in platform number 3.

This station is like any other stations of Sealdah - Sonarpur line. Part of the platforms looks like market because of so many stalls and vendors selling various things here.

It is a model station and a railway junction. There are long lines in front of ticket counters all the time.

Being a junction station it is always quite crowded. Ticket counters are available in both platform no 1 and 4. Even you can purchase tickets from some shops located just beside by spending 1 rupee extra. All the trains of Sealdha south line except Budge Budge local is available at this station. Usually local trains stops at platform no 3. Platform no 1 is for up trains, 2 for down(expect canning) and 4 is for canning locals. Station is quite clean and well maintained and all sorts of transportation is available outside the station.

This is the centre point of Sonarpur Area...This place is too much crowded and congested... Everything(Market,Sweet shop,Grocery shop,Restaurants,Bakery,Cake shop etc) is available around the station...Sonarpur Police Station is 1min walk away...

The only worst thing is the punctuality. Neither of any train reach here timely. Also sometimes the que in the booking counter can embarrasses you.
