This is oldest market place in north kolkata. Many shops here and likely a to z you find here. Almost 90% seller have good behavior. In week I mostly visit and purchase my requirement in 3 to 4 times. One matter I like to tell you that in the morning time you get many fish seller but in evening time 2 or 3 fish seller are you get and morning time fish is better quality than evening. Thank to this all seller of this market.

This is largest market in Baranagar area of north 24 parganas district of West Bengal bordering by cossipore on the east and pramanik ghat road on the south. From its south-west stars M.N.KRoad(south). It not only caters to nearby people but people from chitpur, tala area, sinthi more area and dunlop area come for fairer marketing. It is a covered market although at many ceiling is broken making waterlogging at places particularly in the fish market within it. Vendors also sit on the surrounding streets. This road side vendors on the western side of this pouro bazar is unofficially named mini market where all the items of the main maket may be obtained. Within the proper market one would find vegetables and raw fish and meat and eggs. But for grocery, stationary, fruits, medicines and desserts its you have to depend on various shops skirting the bazar and surrounding shops.Anyway here one would find everything needed from birth to death.

The place is good for shopping..

No public toilets, no parking place, no proper lights, no fans .. Total mess, its become hell during rain. All surrounding roads are occupied by hawkers. Seller and buyer both are in total limbo.

Every basic need at arms length distance..

Its a good seafood shop.

A market for raw food and vegetables, fruits and daily need grocery shops...
