This place is an absolute gem. I was looking for a place for authentic Bengali cuisine which is close to my home and this place was a true revelation. Located exactly at Jadavpur Police station crossing (right next to Ashok Laboratory) - 2 mins walking distance from South City mall, this stylishly decorated eatery is a must visit. The interiors are tastefully done and the ambiance is classy and peaceful. Coming to the food, I had ordered Bhetki Fish fry, Prawn Cutlet, White Pulao, Daab Chingri, Chital Mach er Muitha, Mutton Kosha, Gondhoraaj Ghol and Freshlime soda and was really impressed by the taste. The Daab Chingri was the best thing that I had in a long time. Being a probashi Bengali I am extremely particular about authentic Bengali food - particularly fish, which I rarely get to eat and I was really impressed with all the preparations. The staff was nice and friendly and all safety and hygiene protocols were maintained. From a cost perspective its reasonably priced and if you have Zomato pro you can get good discount as well. I will give them a big thumbs up and will be back soon again.

A true revelation and my go-to place for Bong delicacies.Situated conveniently on the main road, near ashok laboratory, Jadavpur Thana crossing, this place epitomizes hospitality and taste. The restaurant is well spaced with a substantial sitting capacity. The colour, decor and illumination of the entire place is definitely worth a mention. Add on to that a wonderful mix of songs they play at a perfect pleasant sound level.Coming to the food:Fish Fry - one plate contains 2 big crisp pieces of bhetki fried in a golden brown colour. The coating is not thick enough and there a brilliant crispness to it.Chicken Cutlet - Latest introduction in their menu. One plate contains 2 pieces. Crisp coating filled with mixture of minced chicken, spices and herbs. Excellent to taste. A must try for all.Basanti Polao - Perfect blend of flavours. Rice was garnished with cashews and raisins. One dish will be sufficient for 2 people.Bhetki Paturi - One dish contains 2 pieces. An eternal bong favourite. The bhetki was perfectly marinated with mustard and coconut paste, wrapped in banana leaf and then cooked. With every bite ones palate would be filled with the richness of the flavour.Koraishutir Kochuri - Two pieces in one dish. Filled with green pea paste mixed with spices, this form of luchi/puri goes well with any kind of side dishes. For me I like to have them without any accompaniment, just to savour the flavour of the mashed peas inside. The price is not exorbitant at all and considering the portion size, it is very much justified. One can avail #ZomatoPro discount of 25% on the in dinning facility over here.

This place is famous for their authentic bengali cuisines and as well as other types of cuisines too. This multicuisne restaurant is located near jadavpur thana, and nearest metro station is Rabindra Sarovar.Coming to the interior, it has a touch of bengali culture and luxuriousness. The seating arrangement is quite huge and interior is very neat and clean.Coming to the food we had :-The corn chat as a starter was a good one. It was mixed with onion , tomato and other spices to make it a special one. The kebabs were really wondeful and juicy too. The pahadi kebab was too good and a must try dish at this place. The zaffrani kebab was really unique and delicious too. For the main course we had : Ghee rice with kaju kishmish which is a bengali cuisine which was served with fish kondalpuri , which is a signature item here. We also tried goan cuisine chicken xacuti and kerala cuisine Dry mutton with garlic naan. The main course was too good. Especially the chicken xacuti and the fish kondalpuri deserves a special mention. The kerala mutton dry was too yummy and the mutton was too soft and juicy.Overall a nice place to have lunch or dinner with your family or friends in a wonderful ambiance. The service here is awesome and the price is also reasonable. A highly recommended place for every food lovers in kolkata.

Always wanted to visit this place because I am big fan of Bengali cuisine and also since it is quite close to my place.Paid a visit last week and was quite pleased by the interiors which had a feel of colonial Bengal as well as of modern architecture.Seating capacity is enough for about 40 people.Service was quite good here. Nothing to complain about. As for the food,I found out that they have started serving fusion Indian cuisine with a few items from coastal India. So I ordered the following dishes:🔹CORN CHAAT : Started my meal with this. It was quite fresh and tangy. Liked it very much.🔹ZAFRANI KEBAB & PAHADI KEBAB : Both were chicken kebabs. I really liked how soft they were and the size of the kebabs were quite good.🔹CHICKEN XACUTI : This is a very famous goan dish. I loved this one and its dominant coconut flavour. Went very well with their ghee rice.🔹FISH KONDALPURI : Large pieces of fish in a gravy inspired from a mangalorian dish. I loved the gravy but wasnt quite impressed with the fishy odour.🔹KERALA DRY MUTTON : This one was amazing. Had with some naan and it tasted amazing.Overall, really enjoyed my experience and would love to visit again.

Calcutta Pi is essentially a Bengali restaurant located in the Jodhpur Park area. The interior boasts of the rich Bengali tradition influence by that of the renowned Tagore House or Thakur Bari. With the forevermore melodious tunes written and composed by Tagore himself, sung by the famous singers playing in the background, the numerous pictures following the style of Abanindranath Tagore this restaurant will revert you back to your childhood making you feel the Bangaliana locked deep inside every Bengalis hearts. This restaurant incorporated some other cuisines, other than that of the Bengali one. They are the Mughal cuisine and the Coastal cuisine. Upon entering the restaurant the owner as well as the staff of this place gave us quite a warm welcome making us feel comfortable. The entire experience was charming and felt like home to say the least. We had our lunch with quite a relish here. For starters we ordered:Corn Chaat - Th corns were sweet served with capcicum and onion slices. The entire ensemble was quite fresh. The masala made it taste extra delicious.Pahari Kabab - It had a light tangy taste. The chicken was very tender with a smoky essence, well cooked.Zaffrani Kabab - There was a distinct taste of safron. Again the chicken was tender with a smoky essence, went quite well with the sauce/ chutney. The Chicken itself was very flavourful and fresh. The chutney or sauce they provided us with was made of pudina, coriander leaves and a bit of lemon juice. For the main course we ordered:Ghee Rice with Kaju and Kishmish - This dish will make you reminiscent of the simple ghee bhat we have at our homes.Fish Kondalpuri - Fresh tender fish with a spicy twist, went well with the sweet taste of the rice. Again this is also a coastal dish mainly found in Mangalore.Garlic Naan - Well cooked and quite soft.Chicken Xakuti - It was a bit spicy with a taste of coconut in the curry, an authentic coastal dish went quite well with the Garlic naan. It does not go well with the ghee bhat with kaju and kishmish as it overpowers the sweet taste of kishmish.Kerela Dry Mutton - Spicy coastal dish that went well with both the naan and the rice. It is recommended to order the rice to go with this dish as the sweetness of rice goes quite well with the spicy dish. The mutton was so well-cooked that it melted in our mouths. All in all a wonderful experience. Cheers and Happy Eating!❤️

Heard about this restaurant quite a lot. So decided to visit Calcutta pi a few days back with some of my friends.Ambience - the ambience was very soothing, themed particularly to display and potray the colonial Bengal. The seating area was quite big too.Food -Calcutta pi , serves authentic Bengali and Indian dishes as well as fusion dishes , which is inspired cuisines from various costal areas of India.✅ CORN CHAAT - the corn were pretty sweet , also had a tangy taste of lime and Indian spices , gave an authentic street food flavour.✅ ZAAFRANI KEBAB - the kebab really went well with the mint chutney and the fresh onions served along with it. This was perfectly barbequed which gave a good smoky flavor .✅ PAHADI KEBAB - the meat pieces were very soft , had a good taste of mint , coriander and ginger.✅ CHICKEN XACUTI - this dish had a creamy texture, which was due to Coconut milk . This Goan dish had a perfect mid spicy gravy which went very well with rice or naan.✅ FISH KONDALPURI - the fish portions were quite impressive , the gravy was spicy and tasted delicious with garlic / butter naan . But i found it to be a lil tough on the outside and had an off fishy smell.✅ GHEE BHAAT✅ KERALA DRY MUTTON - This was one of the best mutton dish I have ever tasted . The portion was pretty good, mutton was cooked well and was very soft. There was as such no gravy separately, as the name suggests, the spices were on the pieces which gave a rich and spicy taste on each bite.Overall had a nice experience . Will definitely recommend to everyone.

After searching alot in zomato we got Calcutta pi which is just a 8-10min walk from south city mall. After reaching there we were amused by their simple yet elegant ambience. As we were v.hungrg so without wasting any time we ordered:-●Corn chat●Prawn cutlet. (Highly recommended)●Fish finger●Zaafrani murg●Veg polao●Kosha mangso●Khir luchi. (Highly recommend). This dessert is something different and one of the best you will get in this town. All the dishes tasted great but the dished which unexpectedly turned to be the star of the cafe was praw cutlet and the dessert (khir luchi). But yeah they need to look bit about their chicken being served totally cooked or not because in the dish zaafrani murgh some chicken pieces were bit uncooked.Definitely going back to this place for tasting their other dishes. All over experience:-Food-4.5/5Ambience -4/5Staff-5/5

Calcutta Pi is a newly opened fine dining restaurant located around 5 mins from South City Mall and a minute walk from Jadavpur Thana serving lip-smacking, soulful, heavenly and authentic Bengali delicacies. Bengali cuisine is a culinary style from Bengal region in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent.Bengali food that originated and evolved in the region of Bengal situated in the eastern subcontinent of India is rich and varied in its platter starting from snacks to main courses to sweets where fish plays a dominant role. Probably this is why a Bengali is often typified as a ‘Maache-Bhaate-Bangali’ where Maach means fish and Bhaat means boiled rice in Bengali. A Bengali meal follows a multi-course tradition where food is served course-wise usually in a specific format, marking it as the only meal of the subcontinent to have evolved such convention. Calcutta Pi has absolutely nailed the concept of authentic Bengali food & my recent visit here turned out to be an amazing one, indeed! With minimalistic, bright & plush interiors, the place is huge and divided into segments for accommodation. Wall paintings by eminent artists with quirky wall graphitti followed by old Bengali songs sets the tone of this place & gives you a superb vibe!Mochar Chop, Egg Devil, Fish Fry with Tomato Ketchup & Kasundi (Mustard Sauce), Basanti Pulao, Kosha Mangsho, Murgi Duckbanglow, Dhokar Dalna were the delectable items that we ordered & every dish lived upto its name! Maintaining the authenticity of all the iconic Bengali Dishes, Calcutta Pi has impressed me totally with their ambiance, decor, service & most importantly their outstanding food.Last but not the least, their showstopper, the Khir er Luchi was one of the best innovative desserts that Ive ever had. Extremely well balanced amount of sweetness coupled with the fabulous taste of khir turned out to be the best of the lot!Perfect place to sort out your lunch or dinner scenes with friends & family over good food, music & drinks!

The faucets at wash basin should be repaired. Then its good to match any of the popular restaurants of Bengali cuisine in the city!If one is looking for some desserts, try their traditional one or 🚶 for 5 minutes to reach the main road and dig into a range of ice-creams at Pabrais. Not the very best bengali restaurant I would like to say. But the behavior of the staffs are excellent. They suggest the best combo and also the amount. You can try once.

Few days age i visited here with my family and have a great experience over here. This is located at a 2 minutes distance from Jadavpur Thana, the location is convenient.Ambience is really good and have decent seating arrangement and have some decorations like photos hang on wall and books to read total begaali flavour .Coming to the the food it is mostly a bengali resteraunt.I order some from menu->corn chat>Fish finger>Chingri cutlet>zaffrani murgh>Veg pulao>Kosha mangsho>Khir luchi.Food was fresh and light yet tasty!!i mostly recommend corn chat that is really fresh and chingri cutlet is also good .And kosha mangsho was really good and its so soft..Staffs are prompt and courteous!!Overall a decent restaurant to dine in with family and friends..Bitanbunny

Had visited Kolkata for fathers treatment, and had to order food from different restaurants via Zomato but everytime we were disappointed, because it would either be too heavy or too spicy or just weird . My sick father was not able to eat well. And then we discovered Calcutta Pi, which was like heaven sent, because all of us could finally eat properly owing to its homely authentic Bengali recipes, light to moderately spiced, very tasty and sufficiently portioned. We had to visit Kolkata twice this month, and we ordered from Calcutta Pi a second time as well and the quality and quantity remained the same. Price is totally justified too.Highly recommended ! 👍 Hope you stay consistent Calcutta Pi !
