Its a low cost bar cum restaurant. U will get every single drinks here and that also in very cheap price compare to other bar. Food options are very limited though. Its very famous among office goers in this area.

I was just visiting an acquaintance here. The room was decent enough and washrooms were clean. The air conditioner however has started showing its age and the temperature control is not super accurate

Wonderful experience, marvelous ambience, courteous behavior of all the staff, true feeling of a bar(u ll not get much optuon for dinner) and most beautiful part is lowest cost in entire city without compromising any quality aspect.

At the end of my stay ,during payment for food etc by my Debit card, 32000₹ was withdrawn instead of 3200₹ on 24.8.21 by on duty cashier.The extra amount is not given back to me yet . Now my phone calls are not received.

Good infrastructure, food is good but the price is not justified, if you want easy access to all the sectors of saltlake its simply the best option. The management is good, rooms are airy( there are AC and non AC options for you to decide). The service is nice too.

This is a government Guest House operated by the Department of Tourism, Government of West Bengal running from 1984. From the beginning accomodation and restaurants facilities available here. There is also a reception hall for 100 peoples which can also be used by the government officials. One big resorption hall is almost completed for opening. This is a good place to stay.

The rooms are roomy. The staff are helpful. Location is a little remote, but all things considered, its worth staying here. A negative thing would be the absence of lift or escalator. We got a suite and a luxury room. The suite comes with a changing room and living room. The luxury comes with a changing room only.

The rooms were good. Big enough for a family of four to stay and quite comfortable. The restaurant is not up to the mark.

WBTDC booking office is located here for reservations across all locations.Cooperative staff. Easy parking inside premises at no cost. Easy to locate.Carry ID proof of individuals traveling for making reservations. Accepts card payments.

Its a government lodge with an excellent facility and room service.......quality of food is average...AC rooms are great .....comfortable lavish rooms but nothing to peep out from the window. Convinient location....optimal cost.....average ambience....great staffs.....card machine never seems to work and non functional almost always.

This is the headquarters of the West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation Limited. However, the lodge is not as well maintained as other WBTDC Lodges in West Bengal. Needs to develop more professionalism in terms of service and all. The most unfortunate drawback is that the lodge does not have a restaurant run completely by itself. An attached restaurant is there but it is run by a Kolkata based catering service. Most unprofessional, to say the least. Needs immediate attention from concerned authority.

The location of the lodge is excellent. But the entire infrastructure of the lodge is yet to be completed. The rooms are good, tariff is justifiable. Housekeeping and human resource lacks professional touch. Ok for a short stay if you are visiting Kolkata and want to stay at Salt Lake area.

A semi popular lodge for budget customers. Before an excellent restuarant used to be here, which they closed down. Now they offer banquet services for marriage or other occasions.

This place is okay, the standard rooms are okay and clean. The suite is a different story altogether. Very spacious, neat and clean and well decorated and furnished. There service is horrible. Didnt try food as they say they need 1 hr to prepare chicken pakora and fries. However they allow outside food and drinks.

Udayachal is actually a tourist lodge of the West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation Limited. Has a number of rooms to be let out to outstation tourists. It is about 2 kilometres from the City Centre at Salt Lake. Rooms are not very well maintained but is okay for the budget traveller. It does not have a restaurant but has a Bar in the same premises names Mishras. One can order food from there also but the choice of food is limited. As of now it is undergoing renovation and another building is coming up in the same premises.

Nice ambience. High priced for a government lodge. Also they give marriage hall booking starting from 1.8 lakhs

Awful. This word sums up the experience. Easy to miss from the main road, it used to have a restaurant Mishras, till a few years back. Now no one knows the place by its new name, the Calcutta Cravings. Went there to attend a family gettogether. Even a roadside shack just outside the entrance denied the existence of Calcutta Cravings. It took a little curiosity to discover the place. Food was below par, with rotten fish, saltless paneer, tough rice Pulau...and the less said the better. The dining area was hot, grimy and choking with kitchen fumes. Disappointed to find the this area without airconditioning. A good place fallen to the political ill will of the powers that are.

There is a good guest house for night stay Place is clean and good for family stay. There is also a large hall available for public function like marriage s.Food available for guest house residents.

A good lodge to stay & a very very good banquet for reception party

The Rooms are quite good and clean but the food literally sucks.. I am not a very choosy eater but I could hardly eat the food served here. Breakfast compromised of boiled and mashed potatoes sprinkled with some salt and turmeric powder (which offered the little taste in the food). We ordered thali for dinner and it was even worse. Instead of pappads they served stale chips (not edible at all.. not exaggerating) half boiled rice and tasteless dal curry... Just had to finish it for the sake of having something.. It is a good option​ for staying but the food is HORRIBLE...

Udayachal tourist lodge is run by West Bengal Tourism development corporation & is located at DG block, Sector 2 of Salt Lake, Kolkata. It is near to Unnayan Bhawan & Bidhan Nagar central park. It also near to Karunamoyee bus stand. Accommodation for tourists is available here. It is also given on hire basis for marriage/ conference party etc.

Its a Government owned tourist hotel and is used extensively as a wedding venue. The rooms and building is badly maintained and the staff is ill trained. Use it as a wedding venue of you have to but dont stay here.
