Located beside the Kalighat Tram depot and opposite to the Kalighat Temple Road this small Church has a rich history surrounding it. Built in the Palladian style during the 17th Century this sure is a heritage building which requires immediate attention from the Government. Now that kolkata is emptied of its Greek populace we must come forward and help in the restoration of the same

No show or pomp is here. Only devotion and faith. Small place with enough sitting arrangements. No big garden or open space there. Lighting done in festivals on outside.

A beautiful church on 2a Library Road, Kalighat, Kolkata. It stands very tall with massive colonnades which adds to its grandeur. This church reminds the visitors about the glorious past of Calcutta when people from different countries, race and faith would find the city a place to settle down. I wish I could read the notice on the wall written probably in Greek to know more about the place.

Greek Orthodox Church is located on the main road, S.P.Mukherjee Road and opposite the road leading to the Kalighat temple. Its a beautiful structure and architecture is worth seeing. It has beautiful columns and above that a well maintained structure. Inside also its beautiful and serene with rows of pews where the faithful can pray

This Church stands amidst the chaos of Kalighat (opposite to the mandir area lane and a few minutes from Kalighat metro).The church was built back in 1925 but the Greek connection to the city dates back to the days of Job Charnock.It resembles the Greek Parthenon.It is opened for visitors during 7am and 6pm.This is the information I got from locals.The church is really one of a kind.It is the only Greek Church in Calcutta and service is carried out in Greek Sunday service is available in Bangla.

This Church is located in between Rashbehari More and Hazra, at just in the opposite of the kalighat Entrance. This Church opens in the early morning and closes at 8am and again opens in the evening. It is a small but a really beautiful one....

A relic of the then City of Calcutta.One can find hopefully all varieties of prayer halls in Calcutta. Like Jewish synagogue, Catholic Churches, Buddhist Monasteries , both Grave yards for the Muslims and Christians.Apart from so many Temples and Mosques in Calcutta.This church is well maintained and located on a main road in South Kolkata.To check and spend some solitude hours inside the Church is very nice.But one can get any answer to the questions that crops after watching the inner of this church since there no guide was seen.

Im not a Christian. A bengali indeed. But the people there are cordial enough to treat me equally. A place of serenity, a place where u can find your inner self, a place of worship and devotion where you can get rid of your past sins. A great attraction during Christmas for many there.

The Greek Orthodox Church is located next to the Kalighat Tram Depot. The church looks typically like a Greek Temple.. this church is in the way to its 100 years..The foundation stone was laid in 1924 . Its well maintained...and every Sunday people gather here for prayer..

Greeks relation with Calcutta is very old. The first Greek orthodox church of Calcutta was founded in 1752. The second church was founded in Amratala area.This Greek orthodox church of kalighat is the newest in comparison to other Greek orthodox Church in Calcutta. The foundation stone of the church was laid in 1924. Its architecture is very surprising. The church looks like a Greek temple.

This church is not good and doesnt let u do the prayers property during Christmas timeand it will throw your candles after 15sec and resell them after a min or twoso if u r going to use fandles buy smaller ones

Greek Orthodox Church is located in South Kolkata region. It is located adjacent to Kalighat Tram depot as well as Kalighat Booster Pumping Station of KMC on Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Road. It is also near to Jogesh Mime Academy. It is well connected through road and it is also accessible through Metro railway service as it is very near to Kalighat Metro railway station. The outside colour of the church is light yellow.

This is a relatively small church. A little strange feeling. but peacefull and welcoming. though the noise of cars from outside doesnt mapke this place ab utter silent zone, but you can spend half an hour in peace and meditation, talk to innerself ragardless of whatever religion you belong to.

This church has an awesome ancient European (Gothic?) style architecture. I wish to visit this place to see the interior designs of this marvel :)

One more instance to show Calcutta was a city where all religions merged.Small quaint church.Came here on a Christmas Eve and the care taker took me around.Beautiful paintings in side in the Orthodox style.
