It was nice to meet them and I felt really happy as I was able to do something very small for them. The sisters there were so good and the ambience there was peaceful and calm. It was a different feeling after putting smile on so many faces.

This is an extremely good and holy place in kolkata. Basically its a Christian charity for the orphans. With the name of Saint mother Teresa, they all are actually doing the great and really holy work for the needy persons. The ambience and the place are very good, clean and healthy for those children.

If you love to spend time with children this will the best place for you. There are so many little masters are waiting for giving you so much love ❤Please have some gifts for them. Its not a rule .just an humble request. & when you will see their face with the joy for new gifts you will feel like heaven.Oh definitely you need to take permission from mother to meet them. N also their visiting hours is limited.

We had taken students from different Colleges and Universities to Shishu Bhavan many a times. Students broke into tears witnessing the brokenness of the World and how sacrificially the Missionaries of Charity Sisters pick them up and take care of these precious children who are thrown away, abandoned and left to die on the streets and many times they are silently discarded in front of the Shishu Bhavan Gate by their own parents or single parent.Many atheist students witness that YES there is a God that exists amidst all brokenness.Sisters and the help maids are full of love and compassion. The children dont leave us at all when we visit them. It was a lovely delight to see so many children, Beautiful children of God. Blessed to have met such young girls and boys, who by the grace of God are keeping good health and have such caring people who take care of them. People shouldnt just treat them as orphans. A best place to visit...a place where nuns n sisters take care of the orphans babies.. if someone wants to donate please donate to this institutions.. one should visit and give some time to the children and do the charity word along with the sisters. The only thing they need is our love and time. Request everyone to visit it as much as one can..

Located opposite to St James school.. This is an orphanage run by the Missionaries of charity nuns.. They treat children with utmost love and care.. I worked here as a volunteer for 2 weeks, loved the experience

If you are seeking for a life changing volunteering opportunity you must visit this place. I have been visiting this place from past 7 years. They have 4 difference houses in kolkata - Shisu bhavan, Nirmal hriday, Premdaan, Daya daan in Entally , Kalighat and Park circus respectively. You have to register either on Monday ,Wednesday or Friday for the program and choose one of the house to serve , you can serve more than one house on different shifts as well.Youll meet people from different parts of the world coming for the same purpose, working together was an amazing experience.I saw everyone coming from other countries crying on their last day of volunteer program as they become emotionally attached to the kids there
