Founded as a private ashrama back in 1963, this was taken over by Ramakrishna Math in 2007 as Bamunmura is where Swami Shankarananda, the seventh President of the Ramakrishna Order spent a lot of time in childhood.This math remained as a sub center of Ramakrishna Math, Barasat for a few years. 2015 saw it become independent as Ramakrishna Math, Bamunmura.Apart from daily worship and spiritual discourses, this also does social work. It has:-1. Allopathic-cum-homeopathic dispensary (Im fortunate enough to have been involved)2. Primary school teaching more than a 100 children (they enjoy school, meal, park, and occasional educational tours).3. Clothes and blankets distribution etc too are conducted regularly.There are few small guest houses which have to pre-booked. The ambience is so peaceful and relaxing. Lots of trees welcome you. The compound is very big and if you venture every inch, youll find so many organisms. Day time, its calm and night too but less. Not lying to you, Ive found owl hooting at night, a type of bird I cant recognize that sings all night long and heck, even a jackal once. As of 2019, there are ~3 dogs and ~2 cats as permanent residents too.Overall, this is a place Ive visiting since I was a small kid and is close to my heart. If you can, just visit here and explore the spirituality and nature. I hope youll like it.

An atmosphere of serenity and bliss as if one is in a tapovana of the ancient times. The only means of public transport is a bus plying on route no 93. You can of course hire cabs which are available both ways.

Extremely peaceful place, beautiful temple, you can have bhog there if you can inform them in advance. Its on huge grounds. Dont miss the sandalwood tree.

Its an excellent and peaceful place for Worship. This is a well maintained sub-centre of Ramakrishna Math, Barasat.

Calm n quite place surrounded by lash green trees, ponds. It is completely a out of touch urban place devoid of any kind of noises except the calls of birds that gives my mind a full relief.

There is no place like Ramkrishna Math (ঠাকুরের স্থান). The math here is very well maintained , the place is calm and full of spirituality.

Its Good in atmosphere and the prayer temple is also good. You should go there for a single time minimum.
