A very connecting station. The over bridge service at the station is very impressive. You can easily get from one platform to another using the over bridge. The number of overbridges is relatively high so it is easily controlled when there is passenger pressure. The ticket counter range is better. This is a station of the Bangaon Sealdah branch where I saw a very large Indian flag flying. The station connects many places in the vicinity.😊😊😊😊🚅🚅🚅🚅

I am a dweller of here. So much facilities available here in the city.. it is comparable with Kolkata. So much shopping malls, restaurants, garment shops,street food shops, medicine shops are available nearly. Barasat hospital, megacity nursing home ,care and cure nursing home all are near about. Here is High court of North 24 pgs , DM office, DI office, electric office, champadali bus stand, Vidyasagar Krirangan,siraj uddan, state university,adamas University. Come here for full educational, buisness, dwelling any purposes.

It is nice and clean station.... Station is not fully shaded... Though it is working to fully shaded the whole platform... In Barasat it has 6 lines and 5 platform.. Every platform is clean... Here you can see two flyover , one is shaded... Overall it is wonderful place....

It is one of the most important and busiest railway station of North 24 pgs. Recently Indian railways has given a new look of this station. There are 5 platforms in this station, most of the space of these platforms are occupied by fast food centre. Cleanliness of these platforms can be better if the passengers are consious. You will have to change train from here to go to hasnabad.

One of the busiest station of North 24 Parganas. From Dumdum Junction the local trains which goes towards Bongaon, Hasnabad, Duttapukur crosses and gives one of its stoppage here. Local Trains called Barasat Local has its last stop at Barasat. For many passengers traveling from Barasat towards Sealdah gets some relief by this Barasat Local Trains and vice versa. Station is well clean because it is cleaned daily. Its us, the passangers who should also take some care to keep the station clean. Dont throw anything such as packet of chips, or paper packets, or other things which (litters/paan er pick/leftover of foods), etc. Here and there. Throw it in the proper place. If required, the railway authorities may provide more dustbins in the station area.

This is the junction for bangaon nd hasnabad if you boarded wrong suburban train you can change here or if you are travelling to hasnabad to petrapole or petrapole to hasnabad change train here but remember if you are boarding in this station you dont get seat but after crossing few stations train will get free you can get seat

Its a big Junction. Barasat, here you can find sealdah local, hasnabad local and bongaon local trains.

You cannot trust anyone here. Ask everyone the charge before using their services otherwise they will loot you. This advice is valid for a rickshaw driver to a daily mason.

Not bad but also have overcrowded problem. Station under construction so development increase day by day.it is very helpful station for local people, government need to see this and please increase the trains between sealdah to banga.

One of the most important Railway junctions of Eastern Railway Sealdah division . Two different lines get separated from Barasat Junction Railway station. One is Sealdah-Hasnabad and another is Sealdah-Bongaon line. Trains often arrive late but in an interval of averagely 10-15mins one can get a train from here. Except Sealdah division the circular railway is also connected . Trains are available from here to Majerhat , BBD Bag, Prinsep Ghat etc. Needs to be cleaned a bit more and most of the ticket vending machines are not in usable condition. Authority needs to look after that issue.

A good place to live in, so many mandir, a big cancer hospital (district) for patients suffering from cancer - one circuit house to attend government officials , a big Daily market (court bazar ) full of vegetables and fishes ,mutton , chicken everything in abundance, big premises for district court & judiciary ,barabazar full of milk shops ,puja samagri ,huge fruit market , shops are full with grocery items . One big Medical College cum district hospital services are available , generic medicines are available inside hospital, very good & expert government doctors are there to attend patients ,all leading medicine shops are there. In one word Barasat is best place where I live -

It is a junction railway station.It is also a very important railway station. Very busy station.

Its a very important station in Bongaon-Hasnabaad-Sealdah line. It has all kind of public services and primarily a big station. Has 5 platforms. Platform 2, 3, 4 and 5 are the most active. 1 is rarely used (as far as I am concerned of). From platform 2 and 3 down trains are departed. From platform 4 up trains are departed. Platform 5 is used for both alternatively. The only negative thing is here hawkers are at large which shortens the platform width (especially at 4 and 5). It becomes thus extremely crowded while rush hours.

Its a very important junction in Bongaon line .Here the line is dividing into two section -Bongaon section & Hasnabad section.Station is not that clean due to most of the space is occupied by Food stalls.The station have 5 platform & 2 footoverbridge .Two ticket counter in either side of the station -Near platform 1&5 .

Not all the shops in the adjacent area remain open. Not a very suitable place to stay at night incase you miss the train. During normal hours, it is like other typical Indian railway station. All the important official and administrative places are situated within a walking distance of 8 minutes to 25 minutes.Toto, rickshaw, cycle van etc. are available at regular frequency as the medium of conveyance.

Barasat railway station is one of the busiest stations in North 24 pgs. Barasat is very crowded place. Various types of official works are done here. There are many colleges, universities (like West Bengal state university, Adamas ) ,schools are situated. This place also famous for Kali puja.

A normal railway junction as those are ought to be. Why people read review of a junction station is beyond my understanding. However, although the station atmosphere is relatively secure, try not to wander extremeties of any of the platform at early morning or after evening as these places are often packed with miscreants...what place isnt after all in our country!?
