Taj is a brand in itself. It didnt let us down by any means. I went there with my very close friend who had come to the hotel out of excitement of staying in a 5 star for the very first time. The only thing which disappointed us a little bit was that the Check-in was not contactless as mentioned. We had to fill a small form. The management team is very helpful and good. We were offered a complimentery drink during check in. I will Visit Again if I come to Kolkata next time.It was total fun staying there. Full privacy and helpful staff.

The rooms facing the Victoria Memorial with pigeons sitting on the tiny window sill garden are a treat to the eyes and mind. Though the city is getting overloaded with big names , Taj Bengal still upholds its charm and can teach a thing or two about perfect hospitality .

Nice place to stay at Kolkata. Genuine rates with world class facilities and services. Humble staff and open 24x7 for customer service. Early check-in could be made more customer friendly but it is ok. Food is delicious and authentic.

When you can’t go to your favourite place, let’s bring it home! My favourite part of the buffet is the desserts from Taj Bengal. Due to the pandemic, haven’t visited this place since last March.Ordered red velvet cake from Taj Bengal bakery for my daughter birthday. Cake is so yummy and moist! Highly recommended!! And very reasonable too!!

We first went to Sonargaon but we didnt get any place as it was fully booked. We then proceeded to Cal27. It was my birthday dinner and I had really high expectations. We ordered for Pizza with blue cheese, potato roestti, blueberry smoothie, Garlic Naan, Butter Paneer and Daal Tadka. My favourite was the blue cheese pizza. It had a very strong flavour of cheese and I became its fan. Loved it

IHMO, Taj doesnt really have very many good restaurants across the country. Taj is for hospitality. If you want good food - really - Taj is nor.laly not the place, except for a few restaurants in Chennai or Hyderabad. Webt there just foe the ambience, and since Mom wanted to go. So that objective was met

Yesterday was my second visit to the lovely place. This time I had went to the crystal hall to attend a meeting organized by Liladhar prabhudas on Multiple Asset Dynamic Portfolio. We even had dinner there. The food was as always yum 😋!

Lobby area is very big and beautiful. Also spacious. People will love at first time visit.

As usual with TAJ, an abode away from home. The greatest and most striking fact about TAJ BENGAL Kolkata is of course its staff. They are such BRISK WALKERS who served us in the blink of an eye literally. I experienced the same from front gate, security, reception and through restaurants to wash rooms even. The reception staff were so welcoming and after allotted the room they were so generous to escort us to the room and confirm that we were happy with the choice. The food was simply extra ordinary, tasty and hygienic to the present scenario. I was served by Ms. Smriti, a pleasant face behind reception. Hats off to their team leader for having such a wonderful team. Cleanliness needs a special mention.

A very calming and beautiful ambience. I had visited the spa and the coffee shop. I was greeted warmly while maintaining all social distancing norms. The place was hygienic, all equipments were sterilized and the staff were wearing gloves and mask as well. The food in Taj Bengal is always of excellent quality. I was definitely pleased with the quality, presentation and flavors. Overall worth visiting.

Unparalleled hospitality even amongst 5 star hotels. Everything was perfect so theres not much to say here. Food was top notch and even the breakfast buffet had loads of options and everything I tasted was cooked/brewed/baked to perfection. The ambience and atmosphere here is peaceful and extremely relaxing. Even the spa service was perfect. To end it its safe to say that this is the best 5 star hotel to stay at in Kolkata.

I call Taj Bengal @ 10.24 for 2 day stay on 14,15 Aug 2021 after 2 Transfer I was told that booking counters are closed I was told to give my number for booking. I said that I will try my luck somewhere else the lady who spoke to me slammed the phone and disconnect the call. This tell she was not interested if I book or not. Great job Taj Bengal.

Stay in Taj Bengal is always pleasant but this time on 19 th September21 it was wierd experience .. around 3 am water started dripping profusely from the ceiling just outside the room& it entered the room also .I had to put towels in the room near the door so that it does not spread allover . Hope authorities take due care in future

The Taj Bengal hotel is a huge luxury property of yester times. However, most rooms have been modified and updated latest rooms which come under the luxury category. The not renovated ones still have the old fashioned bath tubs and ward robes. Parking spaces for luggage inside the rooms is tight, since all the rooms were built long ago and have limited space after the queen size beds put in.The layout of the property is very elegant and goes well with the the TAJ Banner. Staff is courteous.The grey areas are rush hours have waiting ques for breakfast buffets. The menu is large and covers every belly to be satisfied. There is a big scope for improving the South Indian menu.Chinese menu is good and well prepared with utmost interest.Unlike most hotels the housekeeping is one of the best from my experience of visiting almost all brands and without brands properties in the world.

Very poor experience. Called at the reception to enquire about dining, the call was transferred thrice, none of them were much interested to provide the details. Got a reference of an employee working in Taj from my colleague, spoke to him, he again said that the restaurant manager call me in sometime, never received any call. Its so difficult to get some detail and book a table, could not take a chance to dine at the hotel with my family with this experience.

Very tasty food & well behaved people. The hotel restaurant was built 30 years ago.The area is decorated like a Rajasthani village.

The outlook of this hotel is obsolete but interior is outstanding. parking space is poor but they manage. there are lack of assistance for drivers even drivers could not take bath due to no availability of bathrooms.There is lack of children activities. management should consider this problem. as this hotel is in front of zoo we prefer to go there but zoo has not up to mark. in covid period the are taking care of all precautions consequentlytly pool was closed. morning breakfast had a lot of variety but lack of indian tradition foods. Bed was very comfortable. room is fully furnished and almost all amitities are there including electric iron with press table.

Yesterday I visited the Taj. Ambience, food and hospitality was excellent. Stuffs are very helpful. Rooms are also good and clean. But for a double bed room, if 2 keys will be provided that will be helpful for both the residents of that room.

Well well.. the Taj doesnt needs an introduction as far as their properties are concerned. Taj bengal is a landmark in itself and a well maintained property located at one of the posh location of kolkata. It has a retro and a rusty appeal which well describes the city of kolkata. I had been there for lunch heads up for the good food and ambiance the restaurants are huge and are strictly following the covid protocol which is appreciable. Do visit if you want to leap into luxury you wont be disappointed. Waah taj!

Awesome beauty inside the hotel and outside.

If you want a comparison with ITC, Marriott and Westin then Taj needs improvement but if you are talking about a vintage place to visit I would definitely recommend a night stay in Taj. The cost for two would be around 15k one night.
