This place makes the perfect chai and aloo parata. I am not even exaggerating. It has other items like samosa,roti sabzi and all as well. People usually sit in their car/bike and order. Service is also good, they even helped me with the parking and everything. As it is located in one of the prime location and is well known, we cannot expect it to be very pocket friendly. Even then, every penny is worth spending here.

Owner doesnt know the charges of the food and completely supports what the staff quotes. I mean they charged 750 bucks for 4 pc of aloo Paratha and 3 portion of curd. When I asked the owner the price of curd, he directly asked the staff and what the staff said was the owner answer. Pathetic

Go on and taste their Chicken Bharta and Alu Parathas !! An authentic North Indian restaurant and take away place where you are sure to come back for more.

I had aalo paratha.. its a bit oily but tastes good. Egg tarka was not good. Please dont try it. Lassi and chai are good options to try.

Poorly maintained place...very poor hygiene..we even got worm from the food served and when informed to the waiter he just took the plate ,wiped off the worm and gave the same plate with same food

What a delicious chai and even more delicious lassi. But Id recommend going in a car so you can sit inside and enjoy instead of standing on the street.

Very good option to have quick lunch or dinner. Specially applicable for office fellas nearby. Quality of food was very good. Service was pretty decent. Recommended.

A really awesome dhaba to satisfy ones hunger... Taste of food is just heavenly... Still today they are maintaining the age old fanning system instead of A.C which attracted me a lot.Behaviour of the staffs is very polite.Service is very good and fast.Price is moderate.One must not miss the varieties of Paranthas here.We ordered Gobi Paratha with butter & pickle ,Alu Paratha with butter & pickle and cold drink.It was scrumptious.

Just where the Russell street meets the Middleton street is this lovely dhaba , serving snacks and tea . The delicacy and aroma of the samosa (a triangular flour dough wrapped stuffed fry) , the universal all time Indian snack and the earthen mini cup tea is an absolute delight. Specially in the evenings , when the lights come on. And you get to see the magnificent towering tallest building of Kolkata (the wall 42). Its an experience worth cherishing for people visiting Kolkata and soak in the real feel of the city. Parking is an issue though

Great place for tea and snacks. The Rs 40/cup tea served in earthen cups is warm and comforting. A full range of samosas and other snacks are also recommended. The restaurant has a sit-down service with traditional Punjabi dhaba fare, both veg and non veg.

Decent place ,if you are from North India and want to have plane and simple food surely visit . Yes food here is Not like in North India but thats the way it is everywhere if you are travelling. Its a bit small thus cannot host group of more than 5-6 people at a same time .

Observed this place maintain its air and aura for over two decades now.Situated at the junction of two of the main streets amid a commercial hub of Kolkata, the joint is generally frequented by office goers during the day time;And students from educational institutions strewn all around, others, passers-by, all throught the day.This joint has been a favourite hang out for youngsters for over 3 generations that I have watched; me included in one.The tea and the coffee are the main attractions;But do not miss the samosa (singara in Bengali) if you have the time.There are several other specialities, like, parathas and kachoris on offer, besides the delicious savouries.

Over hyped and over rated. Charges are unnecessary high. Oposite food stall, tea and food is much better and price is also standard.

Russel punjabi dhaba was definitely our hangout before lockdown. Went there after this lockdown, almost after 8 months.. so much changed, staffs arent the same anymore. But the crowd was the same likes before and the taste too. Its getting quite expensive compared to other dhabas in Kolkata, dont know the reason. But it is expensive. For a tea, its not anymore pocket friendly!!

Worst place I had ever been to. Food quality is very bad, price too high. Place is not good as well. Worst experience ever. I suggest everyone not to go there ever.

One of the oldest and the most cherished authentic dhaba. The paneer parantha, aloo parantha and gobi parantha with dal are the best dishes here for a meal. For quick snacks samosa and tea are also a great options. Although its a bit pricy if compared to other dhabas but the quality justifies the price. A hidden gem and a must try for every street food lover.
