Excellent Bengali dishes at very low prices!Perfect taste!

Overcrowded place... No covid norms followed...most of the staffs were not wearing mask but all has the mask in their neck.... Food quality good... they were busy more serving the online delivery people than serving people waiting in house......the most pathetic part is service which is very poor

Overpriced. Taste is same as normal restaurant. Staff behavior is good. Ambiance is calm and pleasant.

Very bad service at Kasturi, this branch particularly. To begin with, they forced us to take their Virgin mojito which was served to us hot. When we asked for ice, they got a bowl full of jagged ice pieces which looked unhygienic and the server spilled ice thrice over our table. Some servers were not wearing mask properly which was a cause of concern. We had to order again and again for our food as there was poor communication between the kitchen and the servers. Coming to quality of food it is a 2/5. Had most of the dishes not been over spicy, and surprisingly stale, the food could have made up for the poor service. It is my suggestion to NOT visit this branch, as they are putting the brand name of Kasturi to shame.

I ordered thali here food quality and taste was amazing especially the crispy aloo but the quantity should be little more, for one person the thali is little incomplete thats why i have given four stars otherwise i have given five star. Proper bengali cuisine, you must different food here if you come to kolkata.

Good ambience .. Parking Facility is available .. Just loved the way the old man at the gate greeted us .. his smile made my day .. Very few restaurants have these ethics nowadays.. Food quality was overall great but could be better at such a tactical price point .. Rice is not sufficient for 2 people could be more for RS 150 expected more quantity .. same goes for the chicken at rs180 they are giving 3 chicken pieces which is too low at such a price point.. to conclude preparation was great but quantity was too less !! Would love to visit again if these things are revised and suggestions are taken into consideration 😊

Very bad place.. they did not maintain any covid protocols. After that they provide only certain items of food, and also taking much more time to get your food on table. The price is more than the quantity any item. Should improve these issues otherwise nobody will prefer this again.

Best place (in my opinion) to have authentic bengali cuisine .... food is served in traditional kansar thala with banana leaf giving a feel of typical bengali tradition. Pure nostalgia !! The walls of the restaurant also showcases bengali art, cinema and culture

Gariahat ( Dover Lane) KasturiNot a good experience. Ambience very bad. It was mentioned Jumbo Prawn Malai curry but it was not Jumbo at all.Ilish sorshe posto bhapa was very bad. Fish quality was not good at all and taste was very bad.Tel Koi was also not at all commendable. It was not authentic Tel Koi.Kasturi was known for traditional bengali cuisine but seems like the chef has no idea of the authentic taste.Had a disappointing experience.

Worst restaurant. The service person do not have any manner. They dont even know what is order given by the customer. Provided extra charged bill. Please train your staffs first then do business. Money is not coming from the tree. I will not recommend any one to go there.

A excellent restaurant near Hindustan park club in rasbihari Avenue in the south Kolkata. This restaurant is famous for the Bengali dishes. Ambience is excellent and food quality is great. Service and behaviour is also good. Food prince is reasonable. Space is sufficient. Perfect place for a family lunch.

I have recently tried some of the delicacies and would stake my reputation as a food enthusiast any day on their Fish Fingers, Prawn Mini Cutlet, Kochu Pata diye Chingri, Bhetki Paturi and Dhakai Kosha Mangsho. These would certainly take any foodie on a heavenly gastronomic trip.However my affair did not end without its share of disappointments, the Gondhoraj chicken strips were pathetic and cant believe they screwed up Luchi.The service was sloppy as well as we had to send back the food to be served hot on couple of ocassions.Also not every item on the menu was available , as we did not get Sheel-e-bata Prawn.The pocket pinch is rather on the easier side which is a big plus.

Last 10 years I am eating food in Kasturi restaurant at Aque Ahmed st branch. Food is very good. But we are missing old kasturi services.Seating arrangements in ground floor is to much bad. AC is for show. We will enjoy water fall from AC with good food. Billing system also fabulous because the bill which they not served. Overall good is very good but customer service deserve rank 1.I also request to management of Kasturi to look in to this matter and do the needful.

Wholesome food, good ambience and decent service make it a worthy alternative to other, more renowned restaurants serving Bengali food. The doorman is an old gentleman who looks like he’s seen better days. Please do consider tipping him as well when you tip the waiters.

Very bad restaurant we ordered Dhakai Bhuna chicken and other dishes. First of all the preparation of Dhakai Bhuna chicken was very bad and other dishes were not upto the mark.

Kochupata Chingri deserves special mention, definitely the star dish that will tug at the heartstrings of any Bangali.To sum it all up, it was truly a bong connection Ill cherish for the days to come.

Inhumane and disastrous. Had mentioned in online order and also called restaurant that order is for patients recovering from covid. Hence less spices and oil are to be added. They confirmed that same will be done.Food delivered was oozing with oil with extreme chilliand spices added. Dhokar dalna was stale from at at least 2-3 days.3 members of the family fell ill and are currently undergoing anti biotic treatment.

Love this restaurant for their food. Kachu sag chingri bhapa is my most favorite.kasha mutton and daab chingri is always fabulous. Staffs are extremely cordial and you would love to take your parents there for a treat. Best Bengali restaurant in town.

Famous for bengali cuisine. They have ten branches in all over Kolkata and I have visited the Ballygung branch. I am not at all satisfied with their services. I entered at 9.30 pm at night and take a seat. Nobody came to me to take my order even I tried to bring their attention but the place is small and waiters were passing by me. After 15-20 minutes one of them came to me and ask whether I want to eat there or take out. When I said I want to eat there then he replied all foods are finished so they cant serve anything. Surprisingly then why he asked whether I wanted to eat there or take out and why they kept me waiting for long time. Anyway, I was too tired and there was no other options. I kind of begged them to serve me anything and ultimately they tell me they have only One fish item, Vegetables and prwan and dal. So why they didnt say it earlier? Why they made the drama even when I requested to serve me simple dal-bhat if possible. Anyway I am giving them 3 star because ultimately they gave me some food when I was so hungry and tired. Taste seems nothing so special and prices are on higher side.

I mean they served me rice without the fish curry which I had ordered to eat with the curry. Then they brought out dessert but there was no scene of the curry. Finally when the Curry came we were done eating. Ps: they served cold meat dish.

The food is not authentic rather it is average to below average category. Please rather choose the bhojohori manna beside this restaurant which is much better as compared to this.

Very bad service, ordered something and something else got delivered...

This was a heighly recommended place by my friend and I had one of the worst experience here. Lets start with plates those were dirty then we ordered the food and the 1st batch came pretty first,when it arrived we were surprised to see those small steel plates, it was not matching with the price. Then the next order came after more than 45 mins , we were seeing people getting irritated as there was mismanagement going on then they serve the food after an hour and all the dishes were very average in taste (except hilsa) and the quantity was less as earlier. Dhakai chiken was worst of all, ruining the name of bangladesi foods, and our drinks never arrived to the table though we have reminded them multiple times. We told them about the food quality and they were pretty reluctant about everything. We visited the toilet after paying the bill it was like a public toilet, workers shirts are hanging in the bathroom and uncleaned floor I forgot to take a picture as I was disgusted. Forgot to mention about our dub chingri it was like a used coconut from road side. I asked for a complain register and they dont have one I wrote my complain in a pad used by the waiter. Now the best part at around 8 pm,4.5 hours after lunch my mom had food poisoning and diarrhea and then around 1 am my sister started puking and as she was not able to have any oral medicines she had to get injections. :) thanks Kasturi

Good Food, but slow service

On the basis of our past experience we decided to order today lunch for Holi at Kasturi Gariahat.We ordered Basanti polau, mutton and chicken dakbanglo, bhetki paturi, kochupata chingri and chatni. Except kochupata chingri and polau all other food are pathetic, not got that bangladeshi taste..Mutton and chicken are too hard and think its not fresh as the bones taste rotten. Both mutton and chicken was too sweet. Bhetki paturi is not of bhetki but its of any other fish,the quality of which not upto the mark. Smell of shorshe was not there at all.Last of all kacha amer chutni was also not upto the mark.Overall its a horrible experience we had in this day of holi.Will not order for the rest of my life except kochu chingri.Thanks to the entire team of Kasturi.

Ordered Kochupatta Diye Chingri Bhappa on a locals suggestion. Was not disappointed. Rice and prawns were soft and savoury. Payesh was nice too. Good ambience and service for the price.

Its good for only those who dont know how to cook or dont know how the authentic dishes taste like.Items are full of oil, so much that you cant get the taste the actual thing in it.

Kochu chingri...just have it. And one good thing about this outlet of Kosturi is, nobody rushes you.

I took away 2Mutton Reselas.. The taste is ok but the mutton pieces are full of hard bones. Frankly, wastage of Rs.450/-(around).In sharp contrast, Kasturi, Jadavpur serves identical item with better taste and nice mutton pieces.

I dont know what was wrong with its staffs, they kept us waiting for long to serve starter, aam-pora sarbat was not at all chilled and taste was also bad... After following up with them suddenly they remember that our starter still not served. The expectation was high bt ended up like this. Improve your service.
