It is known from Nabadwips archaeological council that the birthplace of red curd is Nabadwips Phasitala, and the inventor is Kali Ghosh One of the most famous red curd shop is Laxmi Narayan Confectionery Store, that is 150-years old curd shop. Kali Ghosh and Hari Ghosh were two brothers, they used to make mostly curd and whey. They used to boil buffalo milk in a gentle fire pouring a small amount of water to make it as condensed milk for a long time. The milk was turned reddish due to long burning. The two brothers used to make wheys from the milk. Their whey making area was known as Red Ghol or Red Whey. When milk becomes thick, it reaches to kheer stage, so sometimes it is called Kheer yogurt.Another name for this curd is Chakku yogurt. There is also a reason behind the name. The quality of the curd is judged on its stickiness. To test it, it is also seen by turning down the pot. Even a Chakku or a knife is inserted inside the pot. Thus the name of Chakku yogurt came from that knife.

Fantastic quality of Biriyani. One of the best places to satisfy my Biriyani cravings. They maintain high standards in terms of taste and the quantity is sufficient for a single person. Serves Kolkattan style biryani. The meat pieces are large, juicy and soft, just the way I like it and the rice is cooked to perfection. The biryani came with ghol in clay glasses, alongwith recyclable plates, tissues and toothpicks. The quantity is good as is the quality. Packing is commendable for their use of eco friendly materials. A must try!PS: It is a cloud kitchen. So, it accepts orders only through a food delivery app & doesnt allow takeaway.

Very tasty food at very affordable prices. The menu is quite relishing actually once you get the hang of it. A worthwhile visit everytime.

Packaging was brilliant. They even gave 2 expandable paper towels. Chicken biryani quantity and rice and aloo were excellent but the chicken pieces though nice in size had not absorbed much of the biriyani masala. Chicken bhuna was ordinary. Mutton kulcha was very good but had few small pieces of bone. Firni was very good. 3.5 out of 5 would have been a proper rating.

WORST BIRYANI EVER. I ordered a Rozana Gosht Biryani on 23-11-2019. It was promptly delivered by Zomato. The restaurants packaging of the items was very attractive and thus, I looked forward to a good meal. But when I opened the biryani parcel, I found out that they did not add mutton pieces and had sent me a plain biryani (see picture). Actually, it wasnt even biryani but some colored tasteless rice, with lots of oil. When I rang up the restaurant and shouted at them, they said very reluctantly that they will replace. But when the replacement arrived, they didnt give me new biryani, but just two badly cooked pieces of mutton, which looked like leftovers that you throw to the dogs. I guess that is what they think of the customers. I threw the whole thing into the dustbin.

After nizam and oudh 1590, this places biryani is the 3rd best of my list. Both the chicken and mutton biryani is perfect. Rice and potato is well boiled, perfectly spiced, with egg and flavoured chicken or mutton. The whole thing is very satisfying while eating. I love it. Keep it up.

Ordered Murg Tikka Biriyani (Boneless) from zomato.The delivery was too fast. I literally got it within 10mins.The packaging was impressive.The food was delivered hot and fresh. The Biriyani was utterly delicious. The chicken Tikka pieces were juicy and tender. There were one aloo+ one egg. (I personally prefer them both with biriyani and nowadays most of the Biriyani stores skip either of them.)The quantity was enough for one. The quality was again very impressive.Loved the biriyani so much. This was my first time trying Biriyani from KABULIWALI. I can’t wait to order some more! Highly recommended.

Biryani in its best tastes with minimum oil. Thats the way I will define it. Portions of chicken/mutton are very much tasty and bigger in size. Tangri kabab is must have.

I havent ordered from here I had physically been to this place and bought my food. Its not a restaurant , its just a kitchen and a takeaway centre. Though the food from here are very much overrated in Zomato but in reality its no better than average. Prices are reasonable though. And its mainly famous for biriyani items and solo Chicken/mutton preparations.

My fav, when it comes to biriyani, Kabuliwala is my first preference. Very tasty.

I visited the take away joint of Kabuliwala in Selimpur situated at the foot of Jibananda Setu. The biriyani served by them is not very spicy but tastes extremely good. It is also easy to digest and comfortable for the senses. The quality of food served to me is top notch.

Ordered alu biriyani and the chicken gravy.. Had awesome lunch.. So tasteful the gravy was and that biriyani ohh.. Quality, quantity, their way of packaging with accessories.. Im so much impressed ❤️ highly recommended 😋😍

Food is out of the box. The quality, quantity, packing will beat Arsalan and Shiraaz anyday. But lets not compare as the styles of spices are found to be a little different to the taste buds. In the end it is a must for family person who wish to take away with some scrumptious biryani for their family or friends.

Really disappointed with the quality of Biriyani. Everything but taste was achieved. Packaging was the only thing these folks did right. The mutton was undercooked. The aloo was not soft :-(

A little overhyped in my opinion as I heard a lot about this food joint. Food was good to average (biriyani), not greasy. Mumtaz tangri was good but dry. Also, I have heard the 1st outlet in Salt Lake serves much better quality food which supports the hype. I have had from the Selimpore outlet. To end with, the packaging was splendid and for every person you get a kit which contains a compressed tablet tissue, disposable cutlery etc which was very cool.

Kabuliwala is the one of the famous biriyani brand in Kolkata, so few days ago i have tried their biriyani. I have orderd 1 chicken Biryani. The taste of the biriyani was sooo good , less oily light weight and flavourful. The quantity of the biriyani rice was too good and the quantity was also nice.

Their biryanis have very less oil and if you are a biryani lover, you should order from them atleast once. Mutton keema kulcha is another must according to me! In short, whatever you order from them, you wont be disappointed!

Was very disappointed after ordering food from your Restaurantlast Sunday. Unfortunately, all my family members who consumed the food (including 3 children) fell ill with toxin-induced food poisoning within hours of consuming the food. No other food had been ordered or consumed.Being a doctor in a reputed hospital, I decided to get to the bottom of this & called your Restaurant the next day. I was told that your Manager would get back to me, but I am yet to receive a responseHope for a prompt explanation from your endHope that no other customer faces such an ordeal in future
